so the controller has an all in one effects knob with two control knobs and a trigger button, what if I wanted to turn on more than one effect at once, ie i'm filtering the track and I wanna throw an echo in there as well (at the same time) is it possible with decent advanced mappings ?! or should i get the Hercules 4-Mx it has shit load of knobs and buttons perfect for a traktor user

I've been working some with both Numarks Virtual DJ and Native Instruments Traktor software. But never with any physical hardware. Is there a big differents between (only) working with the software and working with both the software and the hardware? My knolage about Virtual dj and its functions is pritty big now after some years with it, so i guess its a good thing when starting with some physical equipment, such as turntables etc.. for it. (?)

@1800handjobs I bought one yesterday and it came with Traktor LE and Serato DJ Intro. Serato seems to be much better and simple to use (to me at least). And Serato DJ Intro can be downloaded for free anywhere on their website. The unit is awesome IMO. Ive only been mixing with it 2 days and Im hooked already.

@tennis4freak Yes, It works with any headphones, and or speakers! Only problems i've had with some speakers is that the bass is to strong, but other then that it works 10/10 perfection:P

@kylemillar277 `It comes with Traktor LE ready-mapped but I already had Traktor Pro 2 and it has mapping for the Mixtrack Pro built in. My Mixtrack Pro arrived today and I'm using it in Traktor Pro 2 right now! :)

@kylemillar277 Yep, Traktor Pro 2 asks you during setup if you're using a midi controller and the Mixtrack Pro is included in the list of controllers. I don't think there's native support in the previous version of Traktor Pro but it's not hard to make it "learn" a standard midi controller's functions anyway.

@kaliforniakidd22 well, for one... the headphone feature its a gigantic plus, since it has it's very own sound card, and for the quality of audio, its really the way you equalize (of course with an external mixer) you are probably better off with one anyways since there is no microphone to plug in.. but honestly, I have used several diferent midis and cdjs, and I truly find this one extremely user friendly! I would recomend it to anyone begining

@RyanMChrie Definitely go pro man! The big difference is that the Mixdeck doesnt have a soundcard, but the Mixtrack Pro does. A soundcard is what converts your music so that you can then play with it (effects, play pause, etc.) If you buy the mixtrack you will have to buy an external soundcard, and to avoid all problems, just buy the Mixtrack Pro, hoped it worked. @ muffinmanchris type in traktor freaks into google and you will see lots of maps for traktor pro. Latest maps look awesome. One map im going to load in is 2 decks plus sample deck control and loop recorder control. Another mapping controls all 4 decks in Traktor pro 2 but not sample decks. You can't, but it's the second track which is playing. So, if you're dee jaying like old school scratch dj's like DJ Cash Money you'll have two instances of the same track to keep it flowing.

@urkomplex hey mate, Yes the numark IDJ3 does have a built in soundcard so u dont need an external one. And so does the mixtrack pro. However just the normal mixtrack does not. Which is why its much lower cost. Hope this helps.
