All this talk about seeing black and white and gray or whatever, how about a little color in your life and a point of view that isn't as much religious and more life conscious.
I love the song and The group but can someone help me about them saying that things fade to grey. Christians (like me anyway) see things in black and white. Unless they are singing about unbeleivers. I am confused.
Great Music. But I can't listen very often. I have this album on my ipod but I will skip any of these songs if they come on. To many strong sad memories. I remember the day my x-wife came home with this CD (Istill have it) and told me how good it was, She was right. When you lived with someone for over 20 years there are things that remain within you forever that you forgot about, good and bad. Music will bring those things back to you instantly. Thia album does that to me.
As an agnostic turned evangelical, former heavyweight champion, former swim coach, former ice cream eating champion, former governor of Alaska, former regional lighting expert, I find this song simply sublime!
As a former Gay Male Escort with a bad lisp that grew up on the rough side of Arkansas with a Mom & Dad who were first cousins, i must agree i like Jars of Clay, but their new stuff doesn't appeal to me as their first 2 or 3 albums did, something classic with those.
Even as a former evangelical, current agnostic... this song, to me, is timeless. It's one of my favorite 5 songs of all time, I believe. So powerful. And to think that this is the first song they wrote... they must have known they had a truly special band.
Genius!

@fbmbikerdude3 the problem with your stupid fucking comment is that I have to listen to it to declare whether or not I enjoy it, correct?
1stdoublekill 1 month ago
@fbmbikerdude3 in addition, my comment was nowhere near related to the song so move along.

@retroman1019 Seeing things in only black and white is not a Christian attribute. Jesus taught love and tolerance not black and white ideologies.

I like the song but I see things in black and white as a Christian. God bless all.

I think they mean when someone is in transition from black to white (recently found christ) so a christian baby so to speak.

@Love4Christ7 I don't think they went anywhere. Although the first 2 albums are my favorites, I think their current stuff is still good as well.

I'm not a religious guy, but this song is awesome. Lyrics are meaningful, chord progression is solid, and the layering is incredible! Sweet song!

Throught the years, this had always beeen my favorite JOC song. 'Needful Hands' is a runner-up (although I don't think it original to them.)
