  • @MrDarinWarren Actually you are the idiot people that need to relax and live a bit. Accidents can happen with anything. That includes driving your car. How many people die from car accidents every year? Now compare that number to the people who die a year from this sport.

    Point made, Grow up.

  • This guy was over confident, and then shit happened!

  • nossa

  • Over 1000 hrs flying a bag and yes it is dangerous. You push it yor asking for it.

  • hoa hahaha,. auch..

  • that was a thump

  • Ohhh, oh my god, crap, i can tell one thing for sure, after this crash, his spine is 100% fucked!

  • нехуй выёбываться...(

  • Lasst die Finger vom Paragliden, ihr seit so schnell im Rollstuhl oder tot.

  • Send your PG incidents to WorldParaGlidingAssociation

ORG Free join. Help study the incidents together. Free join for life. But contribute notes to help one another. LIFT.

  • 0:15 did you notice that the guy see that something fell from his back and he got nervous???

  • Yes, unfortunately that was a stupid accident. He was called for fun, but it overlooked the terms of your concentration. Sun is high, a lot of wind and thermal conditions and thus turbolend. I guess that the screen also older and at least 2 .2-3 was so very demanding.

  • As a paraglider and a hangglider pilot I believe that nothing is more dangerous than taking off or landing without your hands on the controls... And paragliding carries the added complication of unexpected collapses...

  • Ok, this a good video to know the bad way in life.

  • GREAT STUNT DUMMY!

  • anyone noticed how fast were CPR compressions?? could brake his rib cage easily..!

  • haha swo lustig ! xD hahahahaha

  • Taking risks in a potentially dangerous sport = Agreeing with possible death. Sounds harsh, I feel sorry for the poor bloke, and for his loved ones, but some safety issues were forgotten here.

  • At least, he died laughing...

  • @chapeauvelu not really, he actually lost his laugh pretty quick when he realized in terror that he is falling.. that was sad

  • literalmente lo mato su propia estupidez

  • TRAGICO.....!! LA RISA DE LA MUERTE..si al menos lo hubiera intentado encima del agua....!!!!

  • NEVER try thing whit this if u dont know what shall happen

  • Think to known that this was he's terminal expirience on this planet. The launch with PG has to been taken sererous.... need any more proof?

  • Forst position in a Darwin awards:-D

  • he died because of that ? :'(

  • Дибил

  • stupidity at its best !!!

  • Safe flying is no accident !

  • you cain't fix stooopid!!

  • I believe he was fooling around and it went very wrong, even a experiended pilot needs to be reminded that he is never too good, and of course I could be wrong but the guy seemed like he planned it.

  • HAHAHAHA WHO LOOKS A PLANK NOW. WHY DID HE TAKE A UN NECESSARY RISK. ONLY FOOLS DO THAT (DEAD FOOLS)

  • very sad

  • has to be the most un sexy language on earth

  • idiota sempre idiota

  • I guess that he was an experienced pilot, the problem by this pilot was maybe his routine, and even his too much self confidence. This made him probably careless. Normally you don`t do such things like he did, when the wind by takeoff is not optimal, or if you have just wind from thermal activity along the launch place. You could clearly see that he didn`t had a changes to stabilize his glider, this collapse would have been a harmless one, if he had kept the control-handle in his hand.

  • ...

  • USOU E ABUSOU...FOU PRO CEU E VOLTOU...

  • Darwin Award has been sent!

  • He deserve it. Stupid idiot.

  • e sempre brutto perdere un confratello volatile.. che tu possa volare per sempre nelle nubi.. Fratello!

  • damn its allways that kinda parachute to....

  • @locksmith673 It's NOT a parachute. It's a glider wing.

  • He forgot to clip in!

  • Darwin-Award?

  • @CyberBasti Did he survive? ... and have lots of kids? If not then its not the Darwin Award.

  • ale tępy chuj ... nie dosc ze start na niedojeba to jeszcze kurwa nie wiem po jaki chuj zaciągnął lewą sterówe na maxa jak go w lewo wyjebało .. pacjent jak chuj

  • Hey all my fellow PG pilots: we've got to stop posting all these thousands of videos of PG's collapsing and crashing. We all know how safe the sport is and how every crash was really pilot error and had nothing to do with the inherent turbulence instability of our wings. But the uninitiated public doesn't realize how safe the sport is and may start to believe that it's really dangerous. We, of course, know better.

  • @miraclepieco Whats is safer hang gliding, paragliding or powered paragliding ?

  • @coopmuch56 Hang Gliding is the safest sport you listed, for it has a solid airframe, and is far less likely to collapse in flight than a Paraglider.

  • @wayne11122000 how about launch and landing? Kinetic Energy has velocity SQUARED in the equation doesn't it- who has to fly faster to take off and who comes in harder? And how about a hang glider going into tumbling after a stall? How about towing behind an ultralight and taking off of a cart? All these seem just as dangerous as wing collapses. Even if You jump out with accident statistics it won't give us a full picture. All flying is dangerous- especially if stupidity (like here) is practiced.

  • @SiemaZiomek Taken into consideration you ARE a COMPETENT pilot, and you fly with with some semblance of a brain; I repeat, Hang Gliding is a safer sport due to the solid airframe, period. No matter how experienced you are, collapses can, and do happen to paragliders. Flying in rotor turbulance is an almost guaranteed collapse flying a paraglider, whereas, with a hang glider, you can fly through rotor with no fear of collapse.

  • @wayne11122000 Hmm... well if were talking about pilot competence- a basic rule taught in training to new PG states: DO NOT FLY IN ROTOR AIR induced by obstacles upwind (its then taught again in the second stage of training, how to plan a flight according to wind direction).

So I still say that hang gliding has its own demons- especially due to much higher velocity at take off and landing. Thats where most accidents happen and a Hang Glider can hit the ground faster and harder.

  • @miraclepieco "Hey all my fellow PG pilots: we've got to stop posting all these thousands of videos of PG's collapsing and crashing. ....the uninitiated public doesn't realize how safe the sport is"

Actually, it's better that people are informed of the dangers so they can make an 'educated' decision. If it can kill you, and it can, it's not "safe".

  • @MrDarinWarren Lets put it this way - if person is stupid - he will find his/her doom in any "safe" situation.

  • @MrDarinWarren I started this sport today. I want to see 1000 of theese videos to learn what not to do.

  • @MrDarinWarren Do you consider a car safe when it has a 5 star safety rating?

  • @miraclepieco I understand why you have written what you have. I am a commercial pilot and do this sport as my relaxation. What i see is the same as i see in things like air crash investigation. Basically what i mean is. I know my job is safe. But A C I shows what happens on bad flights, accidents etc. I learn from the tradgedies. In otherwords. These crash videos despite showing a slight horror. Do show what not to do if you **** up or something goes wrong. So anyway. I hope you understand

  • @miraclepieco i think its better if they post accidents, so people can learn from it and not do the same stupid things others do

  • @miraclepieco dude, do you even fly paragliders? Or are you just being sarcastic? People who don't know paragliding don't think it's dangerous - they think it's as save as a parachute. People who actually fly paragliders know about the extreme danger of getting blown out and the huge issue of collapses - just because the pilot in this video made a mistake doesn't mean that there aren't tons of collapses experienced by carefull pilots because of unpredictable rough air (not talking thermals)

  • Ele procurou chifre em cabeça de cavalo O pior que achou

  • To avoid further misunderstanding

I could not fit my reply in one post, so I posted its in three sections, with the first starting from the bottom up.

  • Anyone with some knowledge of paragliding who can tell what realy happened here? His own fault or an accident?

  • @HerbalMart, I have limited PG experience, but here goes:

The pilot had some difficulty with the wing inflating correctly, but appears to have it under control before taking off. Unfortunately, we can't see the pilot as he takes off, but it appears he immediately does a trick stunt of flying upside down - something I've never seen before.

To get upside down like that would require deliberate effort from the pilot, so I'm calling this 100% pilot error.

  • There are just two types of paraglider pilots: those who HAVE had a collapse and crash, and those who WILL have a collapse and crash.

  • so when you take of you got to watch your glider, and pull the otherside when the other side colapse ? right?

  • ruhuna el-fatiha

  • Blah blah blah. All you overly delicate bleeding hearts grow a pair.Theoreticly,ANY video of a person is that of a person dying. Some just happen a bit more rapidly than others. We're all dying right now.

  • well he did clean the genotype at least...

  • The fron Brazil!

  • The outstanding question is: Why did the glider deflate so suddenly? It appears that he may have flown into a rotor...

  • @scottdavene - he most likely flew out the back of a thermal with no pilot input. I don't see how that could be rotor. Looks like a new glider to him. Brilliant XC pilot and a good generous, self-reliant bloke.

  • at least he died with a smile on his face

  • @Nebota No way, he didn't die smiling I tell you...it was more like oh Shit!

  • @stikmunkey

Nah...I'll stick to my version of the truth...

  • 0:27 guy was sucking his dick

  • @localSickened buahahahha nice comment :D

  • @localSickened That was a woman dumbo

  • @localSickened HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Legend

  • This pilot disrespected the danger. If you don't have any fear, you're gonna eat shit.

  • well it's not a normal thing to be doing this mankind should'nt ride the wind .

  • @SiteInvestigator the beaty of mankind is that we can do things that nature didnt provide us with the means to. the trick is to know the risks and keep them to a minimum. if you still disagree, then be consequent and keep yourself to your own philosophy. that means you should stop using internet, right now.

  • @commandro WTF does the internet have to do with paragliding?.Did you just pick me at random just to comment on my comment?.What Philosophy are you gathering from me?.Dude shut the fuck up, next time make some sense and come at me correctly I can't stand the idiots the Internet brings.

  • @SiteInvestigator that will be another good reason for you to stop using internet, cause its full of em. im sorry if you misunderstood me. but the fact is that you question me for the motivation behind my comment while at the same time slamming insults. maybe you should clarify things first, then try to understand them and if its still souns like crap you can insult me later(like i give a damn) im not going there with you because it would be the same endless exchange of crap.

  • @commandro yea your right it would be the same endless crap we will leave the fact that your an idiot alone.

So just so there isn't any misunderstandings in the future I will not reply to you or even bother with your messages I will delete them from now on.But here is some free advice next time you try to sound all intellectual don't have a picture of yourself you look like a werewolf that didn't change all the way.

    Regards.

  • This happened in Brazil, Minas Gerais state. Translation (pt/en) from tv news:

"The death of a pilot cancelled today the Governador Valladares' Paraglider Championship. Carlos Farias, 52 years old and more than 15 years experienced in this sport tried a dangerous maneuvre upside down. He lost control and has fallen from 50 m high. Championship organizes gave first aid until medicals units came. Pilot was rescued and taken to hospital but couldnt resist to wounds. "

  • Don't play with The Death she always will win.

  • i am researching this for a birthday treat for myself but keep coming across death and crash vids !! anyone knows where i can hire four square miles of crash mats ? .we can watch his death but if he flew bollock naked we couldn't how mad is censorship?.

  • To all of the people saying he's stupid for not holding with his hands, well you can't see whether he intentionally took off or whether he was dragged straight off his feet by the wind. It is hugely insulting to call someone stupid when they have died, particularly if it's judgemental and you don't know all that happened.

  • any one that does shit like this isn't a responsible pilot. You need to enjoy focus and land safely. Don't see it as something.....easy that you can do

  • I was looking at it over and over again. He does'nt hold in any lines when he takes of, hmm looks kinda stupid to me. it's like riding a bike without holding the handles. I mean if he did he would'nt fall over i think and be alive now....

  • How does he manage to do this?

I don't think anyone can be that stupid to try it as a stunt. Can you actually fall over like that, i know he did but must be really hard

I'm new to this, might try paragliding...

  • bet he wont try that again.

  • I literally don't get it.. you can tell before he takes off (from the fluttering ends of the canopy) that there is turbulence- yet he still pulls a dumb one.. crazy

  • I think it is important to show the true consequences of taking chances. At least he died while entertaining and educating us all.

  • My god, sickening. What happened here? Was this intentional or did he make a mistake? Awful, not sure that should be on you tube.

  • @SeanFidler Don't watch it then. Not sure that people like you who believe in censorship should be on youtube. People die everyday in a myriad of ways on this planet and it seem so forbidden and macabre to have a curiosity about it. Well face it buddy were all gonna die one day. BTW It's a sobering reminder to those of us who fly or indulge in other "dangerous" activities to be absolutely aware of our risks and that our demise can be just around the corner. So take your disgust elsewhere.

  • @ismasamov55 Exactly. all these bleeding hearts disgust me. Try moving to North Korea people. You won't see anything on the internet. Maybe then you'll be happy and quit your whining

  • this is a lesson to all pilots not to do stunts when in close proximity to the ground

  • @commandro that really wasnt a stunt, nonetheless the safety envelope is extremely small with paragliders but you are either an instructor or you sell paragliders

  • @eb352mm where did you get this information? the truth is, i dont know whether it was intentional or not, but i have seen people do this just meters off the ground. (its even on youtube) i dont know how stupid you have to be to get this brave. i immediately thought of this video and how helpfull it would be for these people to see it.

  • @commandro Of all types of aircraft.

  • @commandro So this stunt would be considered fine if he was not in close proximity to the ground?

  • @2000jago

everything is fine if you have time to recover or throw your reserve

  • @commandro At this altitude the reserve would not have time to deploy nitwit.

  • @2000jago

yes i already pointed that out in my earlier comments.

my last post was a reply to your question.

  • @commandro That doesn't answer my question. The fact that a reserve can be deployed at higher altitude does not make this stunts any safer. That's like saying that having an air bag in your car makes you less prone to accidents. That's bullshit. It may help you survive it if it happens, but has nothing to do with it happening in the first place.

  • @2000jago

Judging by your comment I assume you dont know much about paragliding. You are comparing a car crash to collapse. This is does not damage the glider and can be restored or even usually restores by itself without much input from the pilot, the recovery speed depends on the skill of the pilot and the wing classification. You will only lose some altitude, no damage, no injury. You only need some space to recover.

  • @commandro

Infact, to acquire your license to fly, you need to show that you can handle different types of collapses, by inducing them voluntary. At safe altitude ofcourse. Should you fail, you can always throw a reserve.

The only wrong thing is about what he did is something you will have to learn at the first day: never let go of the brakes. It wouldnt have changed the outcome thou, since he already ignored the rule I described earlier.

  • @commandro

Sadly, its not uncommon for experienced pilots to ignore basic safety rules, in some kind of distorted belief that safety precautions is something for rookies and homosexuals.

  • @commandro I've probably been paragliding longer than you've been alive, but that's not the point. The point is doing unnecessarily dangerous "stunts" is asking for trouble. Yes, a collapse can be recovered from as can a car that you loose control of. Both could occur when you're doing something stupid. You don't do stunts 100 ft from the ground, just like you don't drive with your feet at 300km/h. Both situations are a recipe for disaster. A reserve or airbag doesn't reduce the risk.

  • @2000jago

If you really have been paragliding since I was born, you have now reached an age where it is very understandable you are no longer willing to perform risky maneuvers.

What I still dont get is why are you hammering to me about the dangers of low level bravery. I have never encouraged such behavior. Dementia? ;)

  • @commandro I'm sorry, I didn't realize we were playing the "who's going to have the last word game".

Now, if you think my pointing out the absurdity of your comments is "hammering you", I wonder what you'd think if I actually did try to hammer you.

Your turn. May I suggest some more "old age" references? They seem to work for you.

  • Ok, i feel sorry for him, but why in gods name did he do that silly thing?

  • That was too perfect for words. What a goofball! That's exactly how i want to go when I'm a 500 year old cyborg.

  • FUCK !!!!

  • doesnt r.i.p mean rest in plants

  • How can some of you laugh about this or call him bad names?!

He died a horrible death and nobody deserves such comments!

    May he rest in peace.

  • @lucian0daniel Cala boca imbecil, você não é do esporte, nem é parente ou amigo do cara, para ficar falando merda.

  • @renesampaio

    ok

  • I thought he was doing it for fun...but I think it was accidental he got his foot stuck and it took down his air and he fell... he must have hit his neck and died...that is really sad.

  • @Random1765 He did do it for fun, upside down

  • did he die?

  • @DamperenDK yes

  • @gabrielpereca oh now i feel sad for laughing at him hanging upside down :(

  • See, right foot braid caught in the air

  • That was a terrible sight. I thought it was a joke or not what was posted. too bad for that guy.

  • He dun goofed yeh?He had a parachute on too.

  • I wanna know what the hell fell out of the harness?.

  • i thought he was the one laughing. how did he die from a 50 meter fall though? It seems like the shrubs would cushion it

  • I just wish I could say "Maybe next time he'll think twice before showing off again"...however very VERY saddly...and its simple...I can't.

    RIP

  • this is prime time entertainment!

  • Damn sry I laughed at the beginning

  • The moment he cracked a smile to the heavens, he knew gravity would betray him.

  • un boludo menos...

  • un boludo menos...

  • Algo que todos los pilotos hemos hecho alguna vez, esto mismo en condiciones de ladera no termales se ha hecho como diversión mil veces. Creo que evaluó mal la condición.QEPD.

  • this is not an acurate post..this guy did not die..

  • @BANGERS68

Wrong. The video says that the pilot died.

  • fuck... poor guy

  • so sad

  • Poor fellow deserves the nomination to Darwin Award not death. He earned it.

  • Poor guy, one minute you're there...

  • @Skyhighdraken are you stupid.. That was obviously a laugh of terror, he had no control from the beginning.

  • First, paragliding is not exactly the safest thing to be doing on the weekend. Second, you increase your odds of getting hurt or killed by showboating! Its is very obvious he purposely took off in a upside down position and was laughing with his arms out. Then he flipped back over and that was that. It’s a dangerous sport when you add the two combinations together

  • Thee are old ones, and there are bold ones, but there aren't many OLD BOLD ONES.

  • Why the hell did he do that?

  • looks like he was messing about at first then lost control did anyone else think that..

  • Sorry, but the glider was launched with little stability, the guy was showing off on a fairly advanced wing and doing it with other gliders in the same airspace .

As a paraglider and instructor am always sorry to see anyone get hurt. But I am so glad it was only that soft lad and nobody else. Darwin got it right. Natural selection.

  • Damn Gravity!

The government should do a better job protecting us from it!

  • It was shown on TV, ok, but I think, it's not allright, to show death-accidents in TV or Internet. It is a personal tragedy and noone should see somebody dying, also not with the reason, you can learn something. Always imagine, it could be your brother, Dad etc. Terrible, poor man, I feel very sad about it.

  • @area28 look, you dont see his brains splattered all over. this video is not graphic and holds high educational value how even the most experienced and skillfull pilots can get killed. even if he didnt do this on purpose, im sure there are pilots who do. this video serves as a warning to why you should take this sport seriously.

  • 15 years in the trash......asshole

  • Nossa como você manja

  • This guy was messing around - if you watch closely, his feet were in the controls upon initial launch. He then attempted to flip upside down on purpose and was attempting trying to grab the controls. He lost his wind and didn't catch the left brake. Pretty dumb stunt that cost him his life.

  • it sounded he died happy

  • If you are going to do such a risky activity you gotta expect someones going to get it wrong, with this there's seldom a second chance. You are launching an unstable ram air wing into uplift , rotors, unstable clifftop air currents people who do this need their heads examined IMO and It's hardly a surprise or shock when they die .

  • Was this guy messing around at first trying to do a stunt ? Don't see how you could get upside down like that if your harness was on correctly ?

  • boy...there are some callous people responding to this tragedy with laughter. sickening

  • Wua, si vas a hacer algo siempre haslo alejado de la ladera, yo creo que hasta el mas experto respeta eso :s

  • at first i thought he was goofing off on purpose.

  • That's how fools dying.

  • @mirtaet123 fuckin moron obviuously dont do paragliding do you

  • mirtaet123: That's how fools dying.

@mirtaet123 Jesus, if you are going to make fun of other people, at least get your grammar right! And I think you mean die, not dye. And if fools die doing what they love, then I'd love to be a fool.

  • mirtaet123: That's how fools dying.

@mirtaet123 Jesus, if you are going to make fun of other people, at least get your grammar right! And I think you mean die, not dye. And if fools die doing what they love, then I'd love to be a fool.

  • looks like he was messing around at first then it went pear shaped

  • sounds he was laughing to me..
