hey man, if you've still got this car i am VERY interested in it, would you sell it? im in New Port Richey, Florida. ive got cash in hand. ive also got a 60gb ps3 and a BLUE 32GB Verizon iPhone 4. it isnt a blue film, it is a blue screen and back. but yeah man let me know i would like it ASAP.
Me selve got a massive tuned Mini T on 6800KV (and will soon upgrade from 7,2V NiMh to 11,1V 3S LiPo) and think that small car is pretty fast, but Your RC18 is just power^2.
(Imagine that power/weigth ratio in a real car!! Even the best superspurtcars would look lame! And if You compare with the scale-Ratio (1/18th) Your RC car runs from zero to supersonic in about 5 seconds!! No real car can do this agility!
what exact battery did u use? nooooooo one ever says the battery, they just say a 3s ,and i have not found a good 3s battery searching online all night that will fit the 105mm by 34mm by 17mm dimentions!! unless u had to bod car to fit your battery??
cool man. i actually found out about the exotek slipper about the time i saw your vid. thanks for the pointers. i will attempt a higher kv motor once i install the slipper. and program my micro pro esc for less torque if needed. I have a dx3s as well. great settings for throttle control and steering on that as well. thanks.
@DOJIELDIENVE im not the guy that made the vid but u are welcome. i plane to make a vid of mine as soon as i get a video cam. if u get the slipper and have the extra money to spend i highly recoment the tek18 main chassies because they give u more controle because of the longer wheel base although it is more money and u have to buy the turn buckles but that with the slipper took me from almost last at the track i race at to top of the pack. my stock car is going to get one to once i sell my 1/10
holy shit man. this setup is INSANE! never seen a 9400kv in action before. how do you keep this thing on the ground? i put a 8000kv in my 18B and it just kept lifting of the ground.
@DOJIELDIENVE the key to the 9400kv is to have programable esc. i the xcelorin esc with the c4 9200kv set so it has more top end but dosent have have a tone of low the slipper clutch from exotech also helps with the bigger power applications. my full set up is the exotech tek18x with slipper and gear cover, mip diffs, cvds front and rear, 4 cell lipo, c4 9200kv, xcelorin esc, and i spectrum dx3s with the receiver that came with it. i would totally recomend the tek18x and slipper for running BL
Awexome mods. What's your gear ratio? Do the foam tires handle better because they don't inflate at those speeds? Seems counter intuitive to use foam at first, but if your rubber tires bloat up you have less traction... then it makes sense.
wow this like one of the only 1/18th scale on youtube that car beat my car but i have and off road buggy i could keep up for a while but you would start to pull away
I had to put all Aluminum parts and hop-ups on my 18t just to keep it on the ground with a Sidewinder + 2S LiPo. I like this setup very much: carbon fiber chassis and top plate + aluminum/titanium (turnbuckles) hardware keeps the overall weight down, but contrary to conception, the heavy sprung weight (think rock crawler) keeps this thing under control. I swear it's as easy to handle as my B44 and quicker around turns!
Love it!!!
(PS. stay off the integy rack; use a modified TEK)
3 cells run cooler than 2 because amperage requirements go down. common rule double (2x) voltage = 1/2 the amperage requirement = less heat. run 3 cell with finned motor cooler. 160 F max. temp 10-15 min. runs depending on % WOT. Don't go too tall on pinion (more teeth = more heat). i run 13 pinion and 60 spur = 60 mph on associated. over 60 mph when tires ballon. more like 70 mph.
Haha yeah had to turn the volume all the way down. "Shorty this" and "Shorty that" fucking retarded faggot shit. Nice lil RC though. And I'm from Sandy, OR. WU TANG NIGGA!!!!
Do you have any problems with your steering alignment staying straight? I've changed my servo to a metal gear one, put a metal servo saver in, glued the saver, and it still knocks itself out of alignment. Any advice?
Well I only glued the servo saver to the servo ring, but the glue didn't work either. I'm just wondering if changing all my plastic steering linkage out for aluminum would solve the problem.
i have a aluminum steering link with HS-65MG mighty feather Hitec servo. I used the stock plastic collar. Cut a shock spring and make a ring to fit about 350 degrees around the collar. This will stiffen the steering but not remove all play in case of impact. It is a bit complicated, but if you are mechanically handy, you can do it. I used an AE 1/10 scale spring (blue). Provides tight compression around plastic collar.
I tried the same thing, but used a micro zip tie instead of the spring. I'm running a carbon TEK chassis plate and I dunno, but i melted 3 servos already. There doesn't seem to be any friction between the steering saver + zip tie, so the only culprit may be my Mamba ESC? I couldn't get the servo hot running it off the ESC under no motor load. I love this car, but I hate this car :-) I can't wait to fix this car — it has every hop-up on the planet on it!
You should be able to check voltage to servo from Mamba ESC with voltmeter. I believe the specification comes with your servo (5-6 volts). I'm running an HS-65MG mighty feather Hitec servo. I believe gears are metal. Are you running a stock servo? If so, run the one mentioned. I would look at your steering end adjustments. Make sure your not trying to go beyond the steering stops on the hubs. I'm using a programmable transmitter that can be set.
u need a new servo the metal piece that holds the gears had 2 of broke. it happened 2 me 2day i took apart the servo n the metal piece was broke its no really that noticeable thats y i prob havent noticed it. i ran into a mail box at full speed -_-.
The drag link (great idea) fixed my problem, but that sucks about the mailbox. Most of my steering is metal now, so I should be ok if I ever slam into something at full speed.
i may b wrong but i think its only supposed to be a 2s pack used with that many kv...refer to mamba max website. it states that anything above 6900 is not supposed to b used with 3s. u may wanna check it out bc thats too much money to have to spend more than once.
is that normal?? like it's more stable, turns better, and tracks better without the body. I ve cut the wheel opening bigger already but it still performs better without the body. is there anything i should check or do becuase id like it to perform just as well with the body
Nice, dont like the truck body too much but the rest is sweet :)
