  • Nice video! Can you import pic from iphoto or aperture (transfer)?

  • what about bitmap images?

  • @29erUSA128team - you can import RAW files, JPEGs, TIFFs, DNGs, or PSDs. The files can be direct off your camera or on your computer's hard drive.

  • As usual, a fine tutorial!

  • MAC users please help, Im not new in Lightroom but Im new in MAC. How do I set FILE/ EDIT/ VIEW/ HELP etc to the top bar/ menu on MAC ??? or it's windows set only ?????

  • @japonst - sorry I missed your comment. I gather you've put Lightroom in full screen view. Pressing "F" on the keyboard cycles through the various screen modes, just like Photoshop. If you're running Lion and are in its full screen mode, simply press ESC.

  • Thanks for the great tutorial. I had one question- My computer is running out of hard disk space, so If I want to transfer my photos to an external drive, how do I get Lightroom to link to them as well?

  • @kartikananddhar - this is key--ANYTHING DONE OUTSIDE OF LIGHTROOM IS IGNORED. You can add an external HD without issue, just use the Folders panel in the Library module to move the images. Do not move the images outside of Lightroom's interface otherwise you will need to relink all the missing files. If you look at my Lightroom playlist on my channel, I have a video on relinking offline or missing images.

  • How do i just save a photo ?

  • @tissetass96 - unlike Photoshop you do not choose File->Save after making edits to photos. IF you want to create a copy to send to someone else, or post online you can either export the image choosing File->Export or use the Publish Services option for sites like Facebook & Flickr.

  • thanks man, very helpful, i was getting confused with importing!

  • AJ..........I had to move my photos to a larger external hard drive. Now I can't get lightroom to reconnect with them..............any help?

  • @irish655 - you can either right-click any photo or right-click a folder to point Lightroom to the new hard drive. Lightroom doesn't track changes made outside the program, but you can move folders between drives if you work within the Library module.

  • Thank you so much a j ,I have a question why in my photo library i have the same picture 4or 5 photo all the same?

  • @cheneyeful - without seeing your computer, you either imported the photos multiple times or you have virtual copies. If the duplicates appear to have the lower left corner folded, then they are virtual copies. If not, check the file names as they are probably duplicates that can be deleted.

  • Thanks AJ, very well presented tutorial for LR late comers like me, will tune in again.

  • great video! thank you for making it!

  • haha..!!!! ur daughter is really cutie :P

  • why this shit so complicated

  • Great video, My daughters a ham too. Ima have a lot of fun working with lightroom!

  • I wish your daughter wasn't dancing to a song about getting drunk, but I liked the tutorial nonetheless and appreciate you taking the time to make it. It was helpful.

  • @midgetXL She probably doesn't even know what its about!

  • I just now began my attempt to learn Lightroom 3 with an instructional book for Lightroom 2. The two programs are COMPLETELY different in terms of import menus (though they accomplish the same basic import tasks). Anyway, I was lost and getting really frustrated prior to finding this very helpful video of yours. Thanks a lot! Your effort/help is VERY much appreciated :)

  • Which software do you use to make you videos?

I like it and love you videos and the way you present them! :D

  • @flamurkasa Thank you. I'm glad you find the videos helpful. In answer to your question, I use Screenflow, iMovie & Photoshop to create the video tutorials.

  • Just started using LR3 (literally within the last hour). Thanks for the great tips.

  • i love this! thank you for sharing! gudluck
