My favorite drummer is definitely John Bonham, but Carter Beauford is REALLY good! I like his style of drumming. It's different. I haven't seen too many drummers who lead hi-hat and ride with there left hand ...without being left handed. He also sounds really controlled, like it doesn't sound confusing and all over the place. I like Jazz-type drummers a lot.

Only the middle bit is rudiments really - starts with his typical awesomely timed choppy hihats improv groove, goes into some paradiddles or something between snare and hihat then does his 4 stroke roll!

God I love that thing! Just to set the record straight it's not so much a rudiment as something he picked up off Billy Cobham. It's like a triplet with a note thrown in between the first 2 notes played as a single stroke roll (RLRL)

What's great about Carter is how he accents the notes. He has great feel, and is aN awesome groove player. To the idiot below. John Bonham was an absolute genius/virtuoso behind the kit. He was 25 years ahead of everyone. To say he was overrated is totally ignorant, not to mention laughable....sounds like someone might be jealous. Then how come people still hold his name in awe more than 20 years after his death. Overrated my ass.LOL!!!!
