how come mona lisa is famous?.....its not photorealistic like this???!?!!?!?!?thumb me up to keep this at the top fo everyone to see and copy and paste on other videos too.
Sorry, another question, from the point of view of an oil painter. About mixing paints, doesn't it get annoying having to remix the paints every time you come to work on the painting or do you have a method of keeping them wet? Thanks.
Hi, You have a wonderful technique. How do you determine what color to use as an underpainting? I am new to painting animals in acrylics, and would like to know. Your a great artist/painter.
@dragoneca2 Thank you! Underpainting - doesn't really matter too much but it's handy if the color is 'close', for a dark 'top' layer I'd use a dark underpainting - I like an umber tint. For a light toplayer something in gray values might work. Lightblue for something cool, I've heard green works well for skin? I also use an underpainting so that the paint will stick better (much better than on raw canvas) and I can check dimensions before the 'real' thing starts.
Thank you (same person, other account), I like pastels as well, but I don't always feeling like dealing with the dust, and I prefer paint for fine details, especially on smaller paper/canvas. (read: I suck at miniatures ;) )
Everytime you rest yer fingers on the panel i go EEEK! then remember your using Acrylic. arf

How do you make the colours appear to blend together like with oils? Do you just use gradiating tones?

This is awesome!!
I know you said the video took you 1 1/2 hours, but how long did the entire painting take?

Thanks! It's been a while, but I'm guessing around 50 hours.
