This is only really "good" when your at a lower lvl and your equipment is "out-of-date" if you have Fangs ultmiate weapon (doesn't even have to be maxed) at least 15k hp for each member of your party, and highwind then killing adamantoise isn't really that difficult.
@MCServerNewb combine that with mission 63 which replaces 2 of teh adamancheilds with another adamantoise and you have 5 adamantoise in the central expance. with teh growth egg you can easly get 400k cp and at the very least 60k gill (for the mission reward) in about 20 minutes. if your lucky then you'll get 2-3 plat ingots a run and each sell for 150k. so this is great for early game but gets extremely boreing and repetitive at end game.
You say you have done the maths. Have you tried Mission 63? It is in The Archylte Steppe-Eastern Tors and thte mark is an Adamantortoise. The reward (I think) is a Golden Nugget (60,000G) and the drops are Platinum Ingot (12,500) and Trapezohedron. Try doing the maths for this one. It is potentially higher but is slightly longer.

what i dont understand is that why they put in all the side missions and weapon upgrade opportunities after the final bossfight of the story. i appreciate the upgrades, but after you defeat Barthandelus and Orphan, whats the point? It just blows my mind that there are stronger enemies compared to the final boss of the game. I am a huge fan of XIII and have been a fan of FF for more than a decade, I just cant wrap my head around this one, or see the point in all this.

@jeanetteFF13FREAK They dont have to be max level, you just have to have 'held' every weapon and accessory, and you don't have to save your game after you get the trophy ;) hint hint, make sure you talk to the robot in Oerba after you have 'held' and you get your trophy as long as you rebuilt him/fixed him

This is only good for money, you get preemptive strike on the 2monsters and that fight takes about 7-15seconds gaining 13200 cp with the egg. and 10seconds walk back n forth for the mob to respawn
