Both British and American forces are strong, but its not fair to say the US military is better then the UK military, Its a fact that the UK train their military to a stricter standard then the US do, why? I don't know. It could simply be because the UK has had and been training its military for hundreds of years before America even had an established government.
@RedRebel6666 i wouldnt say the US army is better its just that they have more money due to the fact they have 550 million people in the country and the UK has only 70million. @RedRebel6666 Well in actuality the UK Forces and the US Marine's training regiment is very similar in difficulty and length. But the UK Forces and US Marine's training is better then the US Army's and Navy's. Also you could say that the reason the UK forces training is so rigorous is because they have far fewer people in their military, but make up for it in well-trained, well-disciplined soldiers. Damn fine soldiers all around.

as old rockape.i left in 1980 and joined udr,i know how the rocks get bored easily but at the end of the day they are as pro as any any regular unit in tha british military

people really need to sort their life out, yes of course america has lovely wonderful new toys to play with and lots of soldiers to use them, britain has a small army but very well trained and stick with tech that works well. it actually has the best army in the world (fact) but because it is the size it is, it cannot have the influence the US has over the world, if we had as many troops as the US but were as well trained as the british army. face it, we would be far more dominant.
Britain does have the Tech, not so much relied on as in the U.S e.g. the U.S marines have all those big vehicles and hovercrafts they get trained to use, while our marines have to march 30 miles across dartmoor

If it wasn't for us you wouldn't have the jet, the car and many other commodities you take as your own ideas. to put it this way, we support each other well, UK gives the ideas, America makes them. @mmaisgr8 hi many thanks...i was at 3 wing at catterick and served in n ireland belize and with 34 sqn then 57sqn back at catterick...wish we had the techno avaiable now then ..you would have seen some fun but we always knew our jobs and performed them to the best of our abilitys...by the way saw an ex sas from 2 sqn in the 70s with more badges than i knew existed

people really need to sort their life out, yes of course america has lovely wonderful new toys to play with and lots of soldiers to use them, britain has a small army but very well trained and stick with tech that works well. it actually has the best army in the world (fact) but because it is the size it is, it cannot have the influence the US has over the world, if we had as many troops as the US but were as well trained as the british army. face it, we would be far more dominant.

Britain does have the Tech, not so much relied on as in the U.S e.g. the U.S marines have all those big vehicles and hovercrafts they get trained to use, while our marines have to march 30 miles across dartmoor
so our greatest asset is our people... the committed people.. the 1% of the U.K population

America does multiple humantarian missions and is just as capable of a military as the British. As an American I have worked with the RAF and I know they are an intelligent and capable force.

actualy there was no clear winner of the war of 1812.
sure america gained its independence, but not by beating us in a war but by politics.
the treaty of ghent was signed by both parties due to the fact that trading restrictions no longer applied because britain beat the french.
so yeah, you got your country back, but neither side actualy "won the war"

Im British and proud but America did have a war with Britain in 1812 and annoyingly won but if it wasnt for us British, America would not be the country you see today. Britain has a good relationship with America and if people like you Anglosaxon1921 and people on x-box live soon the relationship shall end.
