I think it's hard to say they failed, because it wasn't their plan.

The USA economy could probably come back if we grew our own fuel with algae hydroponics. This is a plant that apparently can double its mass in 2 days You can have a constant process harvest cycle for six months of the year. While pay may be relative...by American standards, isnt there a certain amount of money that one can make that would go beyond necessity? I understand people who make a lot of money have a different standard of necessity even, but come on....these guys have a LOT more room to cut back than most people do what with the income disparity and all. The comparison between a janitor and a receptionist isnt the same as comparing a receptionist to a CEO. The difference in pay isnt quite the same.

They need to cut the bloat, and make more salary cuts to their executive boards before they start needing these tax dollars. If they do take the bailout, and like obama said, your salary has to be below 250K a year.
