I don't even want to compare both versions. UK and US have already diverted paths so they are now following different storylines. But I think there's a certain kind of thing I LOVE about the US one, I think it has more of a dramatic note in it.

@MadForGaming I'm uk too, but American Ian is incredibly good-looking and acts so well. The two versions are very different: I think the UK version is funnier and the music is a LOT better, its also less sentimental. (The Americans can never resist getting a bit sugary, although here they really do try I think.) Lip in the UK version is MUCH better and more believable so is the uk version of the relationship between Ian and the guy in the shop.

OK, Firstly, I don't understand why people keep on whining and saying 'oh the English version of Shameless is better', I admitt I do find the English version more homely and I can relate to it more because I'm from England and I know how people act in England, mannerisms, slang etc. But I watched the pilot of Shameless US on More4 tonight, and I have to say I thought it was good, if not better than the English one! @kassymag not 'forbidden' as it is unwelcome... half the time whenever they have gay characters like this, they don't really acknowledge they actually have sex/do what other couples do. i think they have some scenes of ian/kash/Mickey doing stuff later down the line.

I'm in love with Mickey. He's totally Ian's type. They have much better chemistry than him and Kash. Kash's age isn't really the problem, it's that he's so soft. lol. Ian and Mickey have raw sex appeal. And I too agree with other posters that, even though he's a jerk, he's still likeable.

I've seen all the series so far of shameless UK and indeed the U.S. version is not the same height.

Not that I expected anything different, knowing that U.S. is so homophobic in the scenes between two guys.

U.S. shameless I am looking into a pay channel in my country Spain, but most of the time the episode ends and I am left with a bitter taste in my mouth and I remember the shameless UK and scenes of Ian and Mickey.

@dicking3000 Well, the kid who plays Ian isn't 18 yet, so they can't show too much on tv. Anyone who's a minor and has to film a love scene, can't do anything graphic and they have to have a parent on set with them. So just give it a few more months when he turns 18. Because Kev and Veronica have raunchy scenes and so do Fiona and Steve.

@Mikizzle15 You might be right but I do not think it will change much the series, in U.S. know that it's okay to watch on TV a psychopath killing a family mother, father, children and even the dog, but God-free teach a couple of young guys doing a bed scene.

Make no mistake I love U.S. have some of the best things in the world, but in gay sexuality are still at the level of 'Mary Flower'?. The conservative America has too much power.

@dicking3000 I agree with Mikizzle15 about Cameron (Ian) being too young for love scenes, he doesn't turn 18 until August I believe. But I also agree with you that there are A LOT of American programs that shy away from that kind of stuff but* this is Showtime & Showtime has put out shows like Queer as Folk & The L Word which literally had gay sex scenes in every episode. So hopefully in Season 2 x)
