  • awww 5:33 A-flat minor chord where it was supposed to be Aflat major

The fact that I have been listening to recordings of his for well over 3 hours and that is the first mistake i noticed, speaks of what a badass he is.

Accounts handed down by students of Liszt tell of a stunning and mesmerizing performance of this one etude. Rubinstein (1961) performs a remarkable rendition, but I would put Charassky's near the top.Richter here just doesn't do it for me - it's forced and brutal. It has to be performed delicately and calmly, creating an almost somnambulistic mood - not easy

  • simply, utterly magnificent. What a power in his hands. He captured the word "SYMPHONIC" more than perfect.

  • I agree. It's a classic recording.
