because they think saying "everybodys doing it" will convince people to do it. but the numbers dont show that, i live in a liberal state and NOBODY I KNOW HERE HAS ONE.
The funny thing here is, the one muscle car they 'pick on' is the Corvette. That is a mistake. 430 hp, 0-60 in about 4.5. Does 12 sec 1/4's. Top speed APPROACHING 190mph. Yet, the funny thing is, it can get OVER 30 mpg. (better than ANY SUV or truck, and just as good as a lot of the mid-sized cars)
