This is (and has been since it came out) my #1 favorite song of all time. Can't tell you why that is - it's not the most slickly produced song of the 70's or anything like that - but it still ends up being just a great song. When Jim Lea goes up high on the bass at the end, the lead guitar is playing that little lick, and Noddy signs off, all you can do is turn it up. I could do without the laughing toys at the end tho... :-)
This album should have propelled them to mega mega status in the USA. I was bitterly disappointed it failed and only reached no 14 here in England. Bloody unfathomable.

Slade - best rock n roll band EVER.
Gene Simmons cited them as an influence.
Joey Ramone told once that Slade was one of his favorite bands.

I remember wishing that they would release this as a single.
I'm sure it would have been a massive hit (if it had got any airplay) and promoted the album to a much wider audience.
