  • When he died, the world got a lot colder.

  • MSNBC - biased

    FOX - biased

    Hitchens - win

  • Saying "Not to interupt you" when you interupt someone just makes you look a dick.

However good at talking Hitchens may have been, he was an uncompromising arse

  • 1. Hitchens has a bad ass beard

    Thus

    2. Hitchens is right

    The logic is irrefutable

  • @Q8379 Stronger than religion.

  • @WormYourHonor64 Of course. There is no stronger being or force than Hitchens.

  • @Q8379 I meant your logic, but that's true as well.

  • I wish I could buy or get a DVD of all Hitchens debates ect, I would pay good money for that.

  • Hitch looked like such a badass with that beard.

  • Fucking irreplaceable.

  • Hitchens was a great and smart man, but he sure was a blowhard :)

  • Hitchens vs Dawkins is dividing by zero

  • @tonyblackops Think so? Sounds like you feel threatened by their enlightenment

  • @philster611 *facepalm*

  • @tonyblackops LOL. i did the same thing. what a moron

  • Hitchens not debating atheism o.o?

  • @delphos1223 Hitchens has debated many topics other than religious faith. He also has a large background in both foreign and domestic policy.

  • @SpinyNorman416 I rather enjoyed it when he took on other subjects aside from just Atheism and Anti-Theism.

  • @delphos1223 He's done far more than just debate about religion

  • i want to hear that black guy laugh

  • Who seriously believed one word of the arrogant reprobate?

It was all about me and feeding my aimless Godless sycophants.

  • Can I find this full debate?

  • "Not to interrupt you." Hitch you're hilarious!

  • *gasp* arab

    That was the greatest part.

  • Why is this old Jews comments any concern to us. Why is not in Israel, after all we are dying and broke in order to house him and his kind. So if 30% Jews live in Israel and the rest abroad why are we funding and worse dying for? Israel I hope you prosper and live on but you are not worth an American dollar or American life. You want to agitate and instigate Middle East wars by not reporting news but making news, than have your Jews who parade with guns on defenceless Palestinians fight IRAN.

  • @bashie34 Hitchens was against Israeli occupation

  • Hitch had an endearing superiority complex.

  • stop saying god bless! just say well done or something jeez!! irony alert

  • God bless Christopher Hitchens

  • Anyone think that guy at the end sounds like Neil Tyson?

  • @joegt123 His name is Iron Mike Tyson

  • He looked so badass with a beard

  • @RevoltBeginsNow He was in fact not a Jewish-supermacist and yes he did enjoy sodomy, so what? Your whole argument reeks of ad hominem and you know it. Deeply shameful behavior on your part.

  • lets hope theres another hitch somewhere to take up his mantle. he put into words what many people instinctively felt about religion. rip mr hitchins.

  • does the black gentleman breath a different atmosphere, maybe a coincedental bubble of sulfer hexofloride?

  • you didnt need to call it "Hitchens Calling It like It Is", u could have just put "hitch talking"

  • GREAT !!!!!!!!

  • *Gasp* ... an Arab.

  • They don't think it be like it is, but it do.

  • Comment removed

  • Hitch with a beard=Chuck Norris of debate

  • @PorkFrog Hell yes!

  • @PorkFrog fuck chuck norris

  • @PorkFrog I wouldn't compare the two. Churck Norris is a huge activist in teaching the bible in school.

  • @Nickdiaublow religion is good for faith,it creates moral sense, but its been so tampered with, the duality and complex nature of being are hard enough nvm the yin and yang

  • So sad he's gone would've loved to have a drink with this guy.

  • "I don't think you can blame the democrats for piling on here..."

    "yes I (fucking) can, (asshole!)"

  • Hitchens with a beard! Hitchslap now has 10x the power.

  • Amazing guy.

  • i would never try and open my mouth after christopher hitchens speaks. one can only sound stupid

  • "...as he's from Dubai he may not even be *gasp* an arab"...! - Classic Hitch

And get off the screen you stupid ignorant interviewing shithead

  • Why does American talk shows, have a brit on talking about our policies??

  • @vanseventy because hes an American you stupid bastard lol.

  • @vanseventy Hitchens immigrated from the UK and became an American citizen years ago. He had every right to talk about our policies.

  • @vanseventy Because you Yankee's need some proper perspective.

  • @ernest1922 Proper perspective? arrogant as always ye are!!! Who is he after a short time citizen, raised outside of the U S and was taught by outsiders with revised history, that doesn't align with our library of congress! He is wrong on alot of issues and he is like I said,a great debater of bullshite! He can have his beliefs but I resent anyone raised in a monarchy, coming over here and trying to be king.save it for the queen!

  • @vanseventy He's an american citizen who knows more about american policies than most. And your them or us mentality is exactly what is so stagnant about the US these days

  • @moroney1 American policy? The only thing as an American should know is their Contitution and Decleration of Independence from the shite king george and the crown! sad but true, most Americans don't know it and I see what most brits spew as they think its superior knowledge is revised history,we as Americans don't study monarchial government to rule us,we are free.? for you,do you have a Constitution and is it in writing?

  • @vanseventy What are you blabbing on about

  • @moroney1 your last comment

  • @vanseventy Oh you? Look America used to be a lot better before the claustrapobic us or them mentality crept into the zeitgeist

  • @moroney1 ever hear of the monroe doctrine and another thing, your arrogance has lead to the demise of your puny, little, over confident ways. We kicked your sorry asses out a long time ago? Why are you brits so concerned with America? We could care less about you and your monarchy!!! weak monarchy,I guess. Have you ever read our Constitution and Decleration of Independence? Bet you don't know your constitution? and is it a written document?

  • @vanseventy First of all I'm not British and have no clue why you would assert that. Secondly, Hitchens was one of the biggest opponents of the Royal Family and always celebrated the constitution of the USA as well as the declaration of Independence.Thirdly there again is this new terrible 'us or them' mentality that has become so entrenched in certain parts of the USA.

Your point is worthless,Hitch being from Britain does not suddenly make him exciled from giving opinions on other countries

  • @moroney1 My point is history! Not my opinion! and the us or them attitude,it has always been us bailing us out and all other countries, and I am sick of sending money to 150 countries and most of them despise us! have you read the monroe doctrine?do you know our Constitution and dec of ind? by the way you sound, you don't know our rights and birth certificate of america. When I hear hitchens talk,he does not know our true history and puts his own views into our history.

  • @vanseventy Now you are just diverting down into a whining babble and ignoring the fact that you pritty much stated that because Hitch was British he was not entitled to an opinion i.e. Why are you brits so concerned with America?. Grow up

  • @moroney1 You grow up! you have not answered 1 question,I asked? If you are not british, then where are you a citizen? I think your lying about your citizenship,if you are not a U S citizen you have no vote, thats my point. You are the 1 babbling.I have presented fact, and you don't bring anything but your opinion, which is fine but your duckin the ???'s Read the monroe doctrine,The founders believed in seperation not isolation. putting the us and them mentality at rest.

  • @vanseventy I live in Ringsend Dublin, have always lived in Ireland. How does not having a vote in ur country make me unable to discuss matters about USA.I'm sorry my comment about the us and them mentality in america is so obvious. Both my grand Unlces live in Boston and Ive visited America every summer since I was 14,the feeling of the country has greatly shfted from a very welcoming one to a visitors get out i.e.them or us&is evident in ur view that non americans are not entitled to an opinion

  • @moroney1 First off,out of any conversation I have had on Youtube, you have been the most polite person I have encountered, and I thank You for that.As for your opinion, well it's a free country!yes;but...if you cannot vote,it doesn't matter to me.I do not interfere with your countries policies,I do not know and do not care, due to ,well my free time is not as broad as it used to be.Everyone is a critic of our country and I wish we would extract fromall over the world and focus on us!!!

  • @vanseventy You do realise as a super power, everyone is very concerned with USA and always will be? It's an extremely important country. Without it the world would be a much different place and so every other nation does need to knwo about it, because we depend on it

  • @moroney1 ok,why does Ireland depend on us? Are you not part of the UK?,which you should fight to have your own sovereign country and rights! This is what I am sick of,why should we support you or any other country with my tax dollars, that I work hard for??why???/is that fair??has Ireland contributed to my wellbeing here,or the UK for that matter? Look I am part Irish(connors) but I am American born and bread! Don't you as your own island want your independence?

  • @vanseventy TBH ur coming across like how I described America now become, them or us, very claustraphobically intolerant.

The whole world including Ireland depends on the USA for many reasonsThe recession in ur country caused the start complete meltdown in Europe,if America is in a bad economic period, then the whole world, which is deeply connected now, is in a bad one.

As is the hegemony&security tactics of USA improtant for the world.

BTW Ireland is a republic, not part of the UK

  • @moroney1 We are a republic, but everytime u listen to the news they say we are a democracy. The recession is due to the banks destroying the gold and silver standard throughout the world n they love it,because paper money has no permanent value, fractional reserve banking has caused this recession.it frustrates me that you have the audacity to say we are claustriphobic when we owe the world nothing!the banks own alot of countries now and soon we all will be a 1world nation beacause of it

  • @vanseventy I mean claustraphobic as there was a time my great Unlces would have said, and even when I visited earlier in my teens would have said the USA was a much more welcoming country built on a mentality of such. Now it seems to be a bitter one an ''us or them'' mentality. Maybe this is because it is not the super power it once was, maybe not. But I can see in ur comments and America in general that it is not the joyous country built on welcome anymore, it's saddening

  • @moroney1 hey you are welcome to visit or become a citizen and pay our taxes and leave Ireland for itslef as any other country.I would be courteous, but the time for weening the children of the world is over with and I would like to see alll the countries we supported support us now. It's only fair right? time for us to put our hands out and take and take and take! I would not feel bad one bit! Ireland is at fault as a people and government for depending on mom(the US) for a hand out.

  • @vanseventy There's the bitter mentality again ...

As a super power the States however had certian responsibilites that other nations had no ability to take part in

TBH Ireland got most of it's money from the EU when it joined in 1973, not the states and a lot of infrastructure was built by the millions of immigrants, including Irish in the states.

I think you have oversimplifying because the US is not a s strong as it was

  • @moroney1 I am not bitter, stating a fact that we owe u nothing!case closed!Do not school me on my history, and take that arrogant mentality of only the irish built this country.the banks have abolished sound money, what is your money based on?gold ,silver or the imf? i'm done talking, stick to ireland and quit watching the bbc about the US and read out of our library of congress to find info, cause i'm not gonna spoonfeed you like your used to.your lazy in my eyes!no need fer ya!

  • @vanseventy There is the bitterness again.Using personal pronouns and this whole idea of them or us is very obvious throughout all of your posts,as is your confusion with what I'm saying. I never stated the irish built america, I said imigrants which include the Irish.

If you're a super power there are certain responsibilities needed, and again the EU is where IReland got most of its funds

There is also a strange juvenile elitism, no point talking anymore, ur making this an emotional convo

  • @moroney1 quit talking in riddles! you should look to ireland as a super power, nothing juvenile here,I dont like elitism,But you sure look to it.I want to be soveriegn, create your own wealth.what do you want from our country?you should be talking about yours not mine! quit saying we are a super power.concentrate on your own backyard and tend to it and don't worry bout my doings.Don't u dare blame someone else for the matters in your own country,do u want some cheese with that whine?

  • @vanseventy because he's smart dumb ass. who gives a fuck where he's from

  • hes full of himself

  • that's called opportunism, not to interrupt you.

    as he's interrupting...

    that's ironic

  • Hitchens grew up owning people in debate competitions at Oxford, keenly intelligent wits throwing counterpoints against eachother for sport. These dolts have no chance, really.

  • When I heard Hitch had esophageal cancer I remember thinking he wouldn't have much time. Now that he's gone I constantly catch myself thinking ' I can't believe he's gone.' I know that probably doesn't make sense, but I miss that guy. As the only atheist in my family, I have no one to talk to. And when I occasionally "debate" with my family, they start out by saying "no matter what you say i'll always have faith." Hitchens understood, and now he's gone. I guess all we can do is press on :-/ ?

  • @Ryan44567 Well written.. I feel with you. I have encountered people like your family and it's really frustrating. What can you do to make them understand that this is like saying no to rational thought and that this kind of attitude is the direct reason for lots of the suffering and chaos around the world? Yes, we must press on.

  • @Ryan44567 Press on, Ryan, press on...

  • @Ryan44567 *Raises his glass* Cheers to Ryan and Hitch alike. We must in fact press on.

  • @Ryan44567

Press on, indeed. I feel very much the same way as you, I am the only atheist I know. We must never forget what Hitch taught. That is, the love and value of truth.

  • @FellOnSoundGarden "The love and value of Truth" is actually Richard Dawkins. ;) Hitchens was about discrediting religion as a pastime.

  • @FellOnSoundGarden WTF...He taught gender stereotypes...and attacked strong women, as well as supported sanctions against Iraq which left thousands of children dead.

  • @redredredtoo "...He taught gender stereotypes...and attacked strong women"

He often stated that the solution to poverty was the empowerment of women, attacked Christianity and Islam for their misogyny, and his "Why Women Aren't Funny" bit on Vanity Fair was partly satirical, part sociological analysis. I don't agree with him on the war, but perhaps he'd seen enough death and oppression firsthand while over there that he'd see any enemy of Saddam Hussein as a friend (even if perhaps wrongly).

  • @themediocrenontheist

Hitchens lied about Iraq's 'WMD' programme even AFTER the Delta report destroyed the claims of the Bush Administration - he (On Al Franken's Air America) even went so far as to claim that (In his words, ''several months before the inspectors got there'') a Pyongyang Delegation..

  • @themediocrenontheist

...Had travelled across the World (For no apparent reason, at least 'Hitch' never gave one) to sell Kim Jung-Ils ''Inter-continental Nuclear Missilies'' to Tariq Aziz..

Search for what 'Hitch' claimed in the Interview, there isn't a single reference to it. ANYWHERE..

  • @themediocrenontheist

This is the behaviour of a State Intellectual, not a Public intellectual. Not even counting the fact that be bragged ''It now turns out that 3/4 of the casualties in Afghanistan were the Taliban's fault, that'll show those Anti-War crowd!''

He endorsed bombing Libya too, w/o question.

  • @themediocrenontheist

Hitchens is a dedicated liar, I can count several dozen lies about the Middle-East and about Muslims and Arabs (All to Justify the Foreign Policy of The Elites whom he pined for his whole live, selling his soul to befriend Paul Wolfowitz) - a Professional liar for Goverment..

  • @BelfastAtheist Whoa whoa whoa, calm down, calm down...I think FIVE responses to me is enough on my plate all at once, thanks.

First, I'm attempting to look into the claim about, "Hitchens traveled to sell Kim Jong Il's nuclear missiles to Tariq Aziz." I went to Google.com, typed in "christopher hitchens nuclear kim jong il tariq aziz," and am receiving no relevant results. Could you assist me in honing my search? I'm looking to read reports/sources.

  • @themediocrenontheist

Don't think I've forgot about you. I've got the audio file of the Interview itself (Al Franken interviewing 'The Hitch' on Air America) on my PS3; I've been trying to be find the download source - I'll try to get it to ya tonight when I get back from College.

  • @BelfastAtheist You stood me up... :*(

  • @themediocrenontheist

    I gotcha'

    Check your inbox.

  • @themediocrenontheist

I thought you said you watched the first 15 Minutes or some such? He makes the claim 2 Minutes and 43 Seconds in:

''..Or from North Korea, which it was planning to do - it was engaged in negotiations with North Korea that we didn't know it at the time - it would have helped if we had known. As late as March 2003 Saddam's people were meeting Kim Jung Il's people to buy the Missiles off the shelf from the production line, we didn't know that, the inspectors didn't know..

  • @BelfastAtheist

..And the wouldn't have found out''

I'm glad I had to quote, because after this particular fantasy ends 'The Hitch' delves further into State propaganda with his assertion (3:01-3:12) that the remnants of Mesopotamia's apocalyptic (Though hypothetical) WMD programme were buried in a Nuclear Scientists back-garden.

Anyways, I can't even find a REFERENCE to the hypothetical Pyongyang Delegation, the stuff about 'The Bomb in my Back garden' is rubbish too..

  • @themediocrenontheist

It's pretty obvious that 'The Hitch' was lying for his paycheque, at least undisputably in this particular scenario. You *must* concede on that point..

Failing that, find me a damn reference to this mythical delegation - one - anywhere! From what I gather, 'Hitch' makes himself out to be quite the expert on Global Politics and on the Middle-East in particular - which he claims to care so much about. So for him to ''Accidentally'' make a claim like this that..

  • @BelfastAtheist

..Justifies State Policy to such a frightening degree is simply farce. That assertion alone 'Justifies' stances of aggression against Iran, North Korea and it goes without saying, Iraq - the Country 'Hitch' pretends to care so so deeply, while 'forgetting' to ever discuss Casualty figures or *anything* on the negative side of the invasion - read his articles, there's nothing.

Anyways, I really should have PM'd all this but screw it.

  • @themediocrenontheist

..In exactly the same way his pal Kissinger was. As for his alleged sexism, Hitchens doesn't even mention Women in his Biography - say what you like, that *is* strange behavior (Orwell shared funny thoughts about Women..)

Hitchens cares not for Iraqis, he never fucking did.

  • @Ryan44567 Richard dawkins, get his books and check out stephen fry.

  • @ernis1100 I am very familiar with Richard Dawkins, Stephen Fry, Sam Harris, and Dan Dennett. However, I feel like Hitch led the pack. Thank you for the suggestion.

  • @Ryan44567 yes It is so hard to believe. I agree. It's surreal agony. I wish he were still here. By the way aside from finding like minds online, you can go to meet up dot calm and find/start one in your area. Good luck

  • @Ryan44567 yeah man! i feel the same way... people like Dawkins still there tho..

  • @Ryan44567 Ha. If you want an atheist discussion partener, here I am. I want to ease your pain of living among unrational people, eventhough you love some of them. :)

  • @ralax3 Thank you very much, I appreciate the offer and I will take you up on that. Keep an eye out for a message from me in the next couple of days. Take care.

  • @Ryan44567 Friend there are many others to look forward to.We do care more about Nobel Prize winners,Field Medalists,Business leaders than Maulavis or Priests.

Religion can only give an assertion about what science hasn't been able to explain. So religion will become less and less relevant as science makes progress.Unfortunately we are letting many bright young minds ,who could've contributed heavily to science, to be clouded by religious superstitions by parents or society.

  • @lokenath123 You got that last part from Dawkins "God Delusion"? Great book btw

  • @MrBuffaloGrill No dude, didn't have a chance to read that book.My institute library which is supposed to be one of the biggest libraries in Asia doesn't have it.Will check if there's an e-version.

Btw I read some of your comments. What is the language that you use apart from English?

  • 0.50 face of a fucktard.

  • Hitch's death leaves a massive intellectual deficit in the public life of the US and UK. His contribution to public discourse was outstanding and inspired many of us to take heart since he was someone who didn't flinch from speaking the truth however unpalatable it was or unpopular it may have made him. He posessed an intellectual and emotional honesty that most in public life could only aspire to. I still can't believe he has gone. A terrible loss.

  • What a tremendous loss

  • I really appreciate his argument style. If he gets inturrupted he just starts over.

  • Rest in piece Mr. Hitchens.

  • Wow, I actually hated Hitchens so much after his change with supporting the iraq war and becomign a neoimperialist etc, but after realising his death it kinda makes you feel a bit sad. Damn, I don't know what I'm gonna do when chomsky dies.

  • @JagjeetMann Hitch never became a neo-anything, even though lazy journalists like to call him one. His stance on war notwithstanding, he deeply opposed conservatism and totalitarianism, and wholeheartedly supported women's and minority rights, right to the end.

  • 0:48. "God damn you Hitchens."

  • RIP from Autsralia

  • I wish someone like Christopher Hitchens could be President one day. LOL. RIP Hitchens, your brilliancy will be missed ! :)

  • @csds0905 Surprisingly there is one: Ron Paul

  • Comment removed

  • RIP

  • @FSFchannel Oh the irony!!!!!!!

  • @FSFchannel RIP? Wouldn't he have been offended by that?

  • @tylertyler82 Well, as i see it, rest in peace doesnt have anything to do with religion or the spiritual world at all. Just a nice way of paying tribute.

  • @MeTheMovie Nothing spiritual or religious about the term Rest In Peace?? Wow. Perhaps you nihilists can get your own terminology so you don't sound so hypocritical at every turn.

  • @tylertyler82 Ironically, yes. Perhaps peace meaning not in a celestial north korea.

  • Is it just me or does the black guy sound like Dr. Hibbert?

  • @alaktinisdead

Dr. Hibbert? You got to be kidding me. AHE HE HE!

  • I'm not familiar with Christopher Hutchins.. I;ve seen him on Bill Mahers show owning his audience and on Fox giving them some lip.. Is he a liberal? Independent?

  • @Punshr Hard to say, he's been a favourite of the right and left at different times - I think in a recent interview he showed his support for some more liberal attitudes.

  • @Punshr He was a bad-ass. Didn't get caught up in the bullshit of any side.

  • @Punshr Hitchens is a socialist. google him,Karl Marx is one of his favorites and he tries to mix marx's beliefs with the revised history of Jefferson, done by our gen board of education here in the U S. If you want to know anything about any American politician,go to the library of congress, not the John D Rockefeller revised history thats been instituted in the U S schools from universities all the way down to elementary schools since 1902.

  • wow, matthews face was priceless

  • There are many extraordinary qualities to this man, but one of the most amazing things about him, and what sets him apart from the sea of pundits on television, is his consistent refusal to resort to shouting and yelling over his opponents to get his point across. He has no need for megaphone-tactics; his arguments and rhetoric are powerful enough in and of themselves.

  • Hitchens is an expert of opportunism. I trust his knowledge on getting the last word in. He has lots of practice at that.

  • Hitch strikes again. For the WLC comments I see here; the impression I get from the WLC supporters is that their ears are not the only receptacles they have to offer to Mr. Craig.

  • Hitch that beard is hawt.

  • @Philosophydebater Exactly, they don't seem to understand that when it comes to the burden of proof that it lies on their side of the table. They just fall on scripture to prove something that isn't proven. Even if they're right the evidence is still lacking.

  • I'm not gay but I want to kiss the guy. Cuts through those retarded sensationalists like buttah.

  • @7th75thCallaghan well, even if you were gay, the only people who would mind would be homophobes.

  • @7th75thCallaghan If he was much younger and not dead, he likely would have kissed you back. Though not clinically bisexual he had many homosexual experiences. I met him once in 2007. I admired him greatly and he was rather kind to me and funny, but kissing him? That never crossed my mind. I don't even see him as a touchy, feely guy. But man could he kick some ass? Most inspiring person I've met in 20 years. I'm sad he's gone, truly sad.

  • @7th75thCallaghan it's hilarious that you're scared people will think you're gay from a comment like that, even funnier that it bothers you.....
