@lostaglio6666 everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however, I disagree with yours. Despite your biased viewpoint- the car drove fine, was perfectly reliable and is/ was a show stopper. I have had more compliments than complaints with that drivetrain.
@yerfdog95 it was the right engine at the right price. When I built this car the hemi just came out again and there was no aftermarket support for it, let alone any engines available in yards and a viper engine was out of my budget.
Besides, it's a great engine, lightweight, powerful, continuing aftermarket support for it. parts are abundant and it's reliable.
@tuske427 sorry, you could have found an older Mopar motor in a junk yard instead of disgracing the car with a bow tie motor. but oh well, i guess in the end it is your car and not mine.
@yerfdog95 Why would I have wanted an older engine? The point was to rid the car of its antiquated obsolete drivetrain and give it something new & reliable. Fuel injection, crisp drivability, overdrive trans, ease of parts availability and replacement, etc... When I built the car the modern Hemi just came out, not even out for a year yet, so there was no aftermarket support for it whatsoever, and a viper engine was way out of my budget, let alone limited aftermarket support.
The engine I used came at a great price and had plenty of aftermarket support. Who really cares what brand of engine is under there. It's a hot rod. It doesn't have to be stock, or one brand. I achieved what I wanted with the car and got more attention, thumbs up and pleasant comments from people than I can remember, and since have sold it to another happy owner who is enjoying the car. It's been in a TV commercial, featured online and made into a Hot Wheels car, too.
@tuske427 yeah they power camaro's and ws6's i aint got no complaints from them so good on ya ps 392!!! that'd be a real show stopper then!!! but i heard a new one is 16k!!
why would you put an engine like this into a old car, you should have used an older chrysler engine

I don't like the gauges. I prefer cars that are restored to stock. And chevy motors are great, but I would have tried to keep this car original.
