  • THat's a press out:

    watch?v=BYwg6GLX81w

Here are just a litle bit curled hands.

  • I think this was a very good lift. I would not have called a press out if I had been judging.

  • and he's not one of those people who grip it really fucking wide. I hate that shit it looks retarded

  • It's important that a countercurrent note be sounded, else viewpoints become hidebound! Yes, there was some press-out. No, it should not be DQ'd for that. He got the load to locked arms overhead. That should be enough. It should prove harder to press out than to jerk perfectly. Is elbow touch to knee still a DQ in earlier phase? It should not be. Sloppy perhaps. But let the lifter rise however he can as long as he does it alone. Pisarenko & Taranenko might dispute this was a WR.

  • pressed out so easy to see

  • @1967tuncay yea, sure. anyone can do it. yawn.

  • @1967tuncay what is a "press out"?

  • @MTBrFISHrLIFTr when the arms of the lifter are not straight at the jerk

  • I'm calling that a press out, but ever so barely.

  • @silexent How so? what for?

  • there was no press out. he doesn't have a very strong lock out but the elbow movement was too slight to matter. you cant help but want weller to win though, he's definitely a more charismatic lifter

  • damn, i've watched this a couple times and i can't decide if there was a press out or not.

  • whats a press out?

  • @drum333cory where the elbows don't lock initially. The jerk is supposed to be a single motion from the clean, from chest to lock in one motion, whereas both of his elbows minorly readjusted whilst the weight was placed over his head.

  • @DreamBig2GoBig it looks more like it bounced in the lock, like if you throw a weight up when benching

  • pressed out = weller should have won

    fucking bullshit

same again in 2000 rezazedeh robbed him in the

    snatch with a press out

  • I totally agree with you freedomsoldier.

I cant belive the judges in these cases...

  • Comment removed

  • @RussianLifter

Maybe you should learn to read English before you go insulting people; he didn't say anything offensive.

  • lmao I love how he picks up the large man like he's a doll. this guy is frickin' strong

  • Hier wurde Ronny Weller um den Olympiasieg betrogen. Dreimal Rot für diesen Versuch.

  • 3 red light if that were 200 kg or less...

  • Very strong clean!

  • Very impressive.....awesome.

  • He made that look so easy and that's 573 lbs. Check out Leonid Taranenko 265.5 WR Clean & Jerk. He had a little more trouble jerking it but it was 584 lbs and that record still stands.

  • yeh but taranenko jerked it

    chemerkin push pressed it!

  • Myself0101, not in this video he didn't push press the weight, this was a clean & jerk. Maybe you're talking about another video.

  • he would be a dame beast at fullback

  • fullback? this guy is like 380 lbs bro' do you even watch football are you a fucking little kid or somthin

  • imprecionante!!!!!!!!!!!!

cuanto fue lo que levanto 180 kg?

  • 260kg World Record clean and jerk from the '96 Atlanta Olympics

  • da hat der weller schön abgekot......:-)))

  • it looked like press out but arm bend was not too much to be called as a no lift......Mighty effort.....in 2008 Matthias Stiner did the same with 258

    Amazing Super heavyweights

  • jajaja me da risa cuando celebra y toma al entrenador ajaj como un muñeco

  • Now thats true strength! Bodybuilders and guys that train for looks are pansys, strength training is the real way to go.

  • i would love to see you say that to ronnie coleman. that guy is a powerhouse

  • ya ronnie colamen is a powerhouse

    thanks to steroids

  • steroids only play a very small part in it. great diet and training have alot to do with it also

  • steroids play small part in it, lol WTF!!!!! steroids play a big part especially in ronnie collamens life that guy is on hardcore steroids day and night hes got steroid pills under his pillow. He does train a lot but he also takes lot of steroids that why he looks like a slob of musle he is 2 huge and disqusting, did u know that woman get scared of him!

  • What about guys like Franco Columbo? They had strength and the "look" to go with it.

  • Nice to see great competitions at these Olympics.

  • I love how he picks the other guy up like a rag doll at the end lol. That steel bar was bending like jelly

  • Amazing......:)

  • OTLICHNO ;)

  • Yeah,real russian power!! ;).

    Eto prosto ATLICHNO!!

  • gruby jak nie wiem a poza tym technika do dupy bo najpierw sie bierze przednią noge i tylnią a nie odwrotnie

  • I remember how sorry I felt for Ronny Weller, because he was my favourite lifter, but this is a good lift, and it is no disgrace to be beaten by someone who lifts 260 kg in c&j.

  • I like when he picks up his trainer like a rag doll.

  • Mariusz is strong but will never have an Olympic gold medal.

  • and he's on steroids

  • lol probably, but it has no relevance to anything

  • yeah it does iwf tests alot like one of the people that use to lift at my club got tested so much cus she was #1 in u.s.

  • what does a lifter in your club have anything to dow ith anything. steroids are EVERYWHERE... If your claim is who ever is number 1 gets tested the most, Then Mariusz probably ISNT on steroids lol. people just say he is so his credibility of being the strongest ever is lost.

  • yes but if he was an olympic weightlifter like you said he would never medal and if he did he'd lose it if it was found that he was on steroids

  • well exactly. lol He's not strong enough for this anyway.

  • lol you think olympic weightlifters dont juice?? you're crazy. They have 4 years to prepare.. they juice for 2 years and are off after that and into olympics.

  • ha yeah i know there are a ton whole teams like greece bulgaria etc

  • that doesnt make sense, if you juice, and then stop it takes a long time for your body to recover and in that time your lifts have fallen dramatically

  • what do you mean? No offense but you dont know what you're talking about. You can keep 90% of gains when you come off if you take the right stuff after. Also, if you train the same, you will not lose anything. I have olympic friends that have actually competed (2004 Athens). they have told me this, its true.

  • who cares.. still a very impressive lift

  • Bot you know, The olympics isn't heir only competitons, they got nationals, continental, world championships etc, which are all tested. But still You can be sure that probably all(or atleast the msot) of elite olympic lifters juice, but not in the way you said.

  • they always juice even before olympics. the case is to invent some new drug or to use it right so the test will be passed.

  • he did pressed e little whith his left but still thats a god lift if there would be a pause between the beginning and the end of the pres then you could call a press but here you can obviosly see that he is pressing straight trought all the way which makes it a good lift

  • haha ronny got owned

  • chemerkin's jerks always make me laugh after watching others jerks

  • well he did compete when Rezazadeh was competing. In 2000 sydney. But he was 10 kg behind Rezazadeh in the snatch so he would have had to lift 600 pounds to win which obviously he didn't make. Ronnie Weller was close to beating Rezazadeh though in 2000.

  • Shame he's not competing now. He would have pushed Rezazadeh to lift to his full potential if they were in the same competition.

  • The lift was fine. His arms may wobble a bit, but his elbow definetely did not unlock.Remember, the judges have to make a split second call, the lifter should always heve the benefit of the doubt. After all why should some lifters have the advantages of having double jointed elbows and others don't.They still defy gravity identically

  • i agree, especially for this lift.

  • I also agree, and I have been a referee at several OL meets. There was a wobble, but the elbow must completely unlock and relock to get a red there - which didn't happen here. Plus we have to remember, this is the Olympic Games - the ref's usually only give red's if there is a pretty obvious infraction.

At worst, he'd maybe get a red from the center judge, but whites from the side ref's and it'd still be a good lift.

  • can someone explain to me how he pressed out? the lift looked fine to me. I'm still confused about what pressing out means.

  • it's kinda funny seeing the look of dismay on ronny weller's face just after he had celebrated so wildly after his 255kg. maybe he was just celebrating a PR?...

  • yaeh maybe a personal record ment more to him than olympic gold

  • what does it mean if your arms press out?

  • locking out your arms after you catch the bar in the jerk.

  • happens in all sports when going for a WR! hah. none the less it is impressive.

  • i just got called in a meet for having my arm pressed out just like this one, but he got the lift, oh well

  • i think its no lift ... his arms pressed out

  • It definitely looked like a press out to me but they gave it to him. His record stood for a long time until they changed the weight classes in 1998. Damn shame...

  • @patlamoi either way the clean was beautiful.

  • his right arm looked like it pressed out
