  • She is so Beautiful & Humble! I saw her in Person Once, She's gotta be 5'12" Tall! Congratulations!

  • Working girl is an awesome movie! =)

  • @KrueMann 1992 I have,multiple times.Ever see the Accidental Tourist ? SUCKS.

  • @MrS98VAC Accidental Sucks bad... which is why Joan Cusack still had the best performance

  • Davis es una ectriz espectacular, la amo....pero el premio era de Pfeiffer.

  • Geena just might be the tallest human ever to win an Oscar.

  • I have come to notice that Melanie Griffith has to be the center of attention, esp. when announcing an award. Here, you see Don Johnson about to announce the winner but she steps on him so she can say it too. Then if you watch the clip where Renee Zellweger wins a Golden Globe for Cold Mountain, Chris Cooper starts to announce but Griffith giggles like an idiot and announces it herself while Cooper looks like "Why are you even here?" which is really my thought as well. So annoying.

  • Geena's dress is gorgeous and so is she

  • @KrueMann1992 Actually,not.

  • @MrS98VAC you have obviously not seen Working Girl

  • Wow, Joan Cusack deserved this way more than any of the others. What a waste of a win

  • i want to slap melanie griffiths !

  • Geena Davis definitely deserved this award, the only other actress who I think was worthy of winning was Michelle Pfeiffer. Both Geena and Michelle are brilliant actresses.

  • This was Michelle Phiffers Oscar not anyone elses

  • Is this before or after she quit baseball?

  • This was SUCH a strong year for this category.

  • Don & Melanie think they are so cute with their little psuedo-screwball comedy double-act. What a pretentious pair of cheeseballs. I think they have grown up since but really, this is the height of tedium and loathsome self-indulgence.

  • @NickUvTime totally

  • Wow....She absolutely stunk in this role. Did not see a kooky character.

  • I wish they all could win the Oscar...they all deserve it.

  • shes 17 feet tall

  • It's possible to praise one beautiful or talented actress without demeaning another with patent falsehoods. (& I am one of the biggest,if not the biggest,Michelle Pfeiffer fan ).

  • Perfectly deserved. Go search up "Sage Slowdive" who did analysis for almost every year (1930's-2011) Best Actress Oscar and is currently during the Supporting Actress Oscar; look up the "supporting actress 1988" post. Super legit reason why Geena davis deserved this oscar.

  • michelle should have one this one

  • There are so many actresses who HAVEN'T WON AN OSCAR YET. Sigourney and Joan are counted in this category.

  • Oh God! The 80s!

  • BLAND?? Go watch the movie again.

  • She is THE UGLIEST actress i've ever seen and so not even worth seeing in any movies. Seeing the way her big ugly teeth look in this video makes me want to see her get her ass whooped in thelma and louise haha, That oscar should have went to Michelle for sure

  • @TheScarecrow1988 Why would you feel the need to be so negative & downright vile about someone you don;t even know? And to say she has "big ugly teeth" or that she is "THE UGLIEST actress" you 'v ever seen demonstrates you are not only unbelievably needlessly cruel but that you obviously are also blind & a liar. Geena Davis was (and still is) a stunning woman. Esp. at this ceremony; when she smiles godamn she even more lovely (the dress was kind of a bad choice, tho', imo)

  • She absolutely deserved this, Muriel Pritchett was a terrific character role and Geena was fantastic. Sigourney was soooo bland in Working Girl, but terrific in Gorillas. Look at the late 1980s horrible clothes.

  • what happened to Geena? That oscar should be keeping her busy even today.

  • What's with the pouffy dresses? What century was this?

  • this is the reason Best Supporting Actress is the most notorious category in the oscars

  • she deserves

    but bad dresssssssssssssssss

  • she deserves

  • Muriel was fantastically performed by Geena Davis. As far as I am concerned she was the right winner.

  • @ErnestoAH

You're so right. Muriel is the central figure and the reason I love the film so much. The wrong actress could've ruined it by making her irritating. Geena all the way (Shame about some of her other films though!)

  • Why she won? the performance was simply normal, boring and colorless!

  • Sigourney Weaver should won !!!!!!

  • JOAN CUSACK!

  • I don't know how she won this oscar, this so belonged to Sigourney Weaver!!

  • @MrS98VAC Sigourney Weaver is a great actress but come on the performance in "Working Girl" or that film was award worthy.

  • @MrS98VAC Actually it belonged to Joan Cusack

  • @MrS98VAC nope

  • 1. Michelle Pfeiffer

    2. Geena Davis

    3. Sigourney Weaver

    4. Frances McDormand

    5. Joan Cusack

  • @molecularqw Wrong year and wrong category.

  • Michelle Pfeiffer all the way!! like most of you said an undeserving winner

  • dam, melanie and don sounded and acted they snorted about a pound of cocaine before they went onstage.

  • Definitely!!!

    Truly absurd!!!

  • Pathetic hosts, and a truly undeserving winner!!!

Not a good year for Oscar!!!

  • Geena Davis is beautiful!

  • Melanie Griffith never really belonged in Hollywood. Total trash, unlike her mother.

  • @getoutofmyway01 fuck hollywood...they all live trashy lives behind the camera anyways..the fact that she doesnt hide it shows great personality my friend..and not someone paying by the rules

  • Aww, she was terrified!

Love how everyone looks like they're going to horrible, shiny proms. :D

  • Morgan Adams!!!

  • Don Johnson's hair is fantastic in this clip.

Jeff Goldblum, what a beast. Look at his face here, it's like he's saying "oh stop," and "who's your daddy?" at the same time. Daaaaamn, now that's talent.

  • Don's hair is better than Mel's.

  • Melanie and Don ruined Geena's moment. Poor thing.

  • @molecularqw ?? What are you talking about? Isabella Adjani is nowhere to be found in this video.

  • those are some hideous dresses D:

  • @YoungFrankenstein yes indeed!

  • @molecularqw She was nominated for best actress the next year

  • Geena looks stunning looking. I soo love the 80's style, the big hair and colourful dresses, just wow!

  • geena davis has an oscar? well there´s something unexpected

  • @hallowedbeeddie How? She is a fine actress. She also had a Lead Actress nod for "Thelma & Louise", and was amazing in films like "The Fly", "Tootsie" and "A League of Their Own"- not to mention "Beetlejuice".

  • @fusock She was perfect in Thelma & Louise.

  • All I can say about the horrendous Melanie and Don - where is Ricky Gervais when you need him?

  • Poor Sigourney Weaver should have won and both presenters should have shut the hell up finally.

  • awful

  • DON JOHNSON WAS HOT HOT HOT

  • I thought Sigourney Weaver should've won, personally. I love Geena Davis, but the win and the nomination were both unexpected to me.

  • The 80s fashion was the worst. People were trying way too hard. Yay for 90s minimalism and armani.

  • wow, that is such a nice dress!

  • God!I wish Melanie would shut the f* up!!!!

  • Melanie Griffith gets on my nerves

  • @tpabaygarstud me too.. She's a floozie

  • Melanie looks like a wedding cake decoration. And seems to have the IQ of one.

  • @MissLizaMay That's a pretty harsh but BRILLIANT comment.

  • I loved Geena Davis in this film.

  • For EVERYONE that hated how long and "narcissistic" the presentation was, I AGREE..!...BUT, do NOT blame Melanie and Don...,,REMEMBER..!.....,,this is a SCRIPTED SHOW....!!!

  • Whatever happened to Melanie Griffith anyway?

  • I have waited so long to see this clip. They do talk too much.

  • @ReviewDude94 Jacqueline Bisset.

  • Really !! I didn't see the other performances , I just saw geena davis' So I think he doesn't deserve An Oscar just a nomination for her is good !!

  • ssdas

  • Would those poeple just shut fuck Up !

I think Geena Davis Doesn't deserve an Oscar ! A nomination for her is enough !

    Don't ya think ?

  • I think that Griffith would just shut the fuck Up because she's so noisy !

Geena david ,i THINK SHE'S PERFECT AND Such a beauty ! But her performance shouldn't have won an Oscar she just deserved a nomination !!

    I didn't see the other performances , but .... !!

    Don't you think ??

  • OMG,I just noticed I'm 1:15 into this video and they are STILL smoozing! Announce the damn nominees please!

  • MICHELLE PFEIFFER, the true winner and beauty.

  • It's Jacqueline Bisset at 2:43

  • i would have been thrilled had any nominee other than geena would have one, she's a great actress but this role just didnt deserve an oscar.

  • who's that at 2:43?

  • @ReviewDude94 a nose picker.

  • @ReviewDude94 Jacqueline Bisset

  • How could she win Best SUPPORTING Actress when her character is the MAIN female character in the movie?!

  • @Jujuman2003 It was a supporting role. Turner and Hurt were the leads. Davis did not deserve to win. What a travesty. Sigorney Weaver was robbed.

  • @Jujuman2003 that's what I was thinking about when watching the video!!!)

  • Even with that 80s hair, gosh, was he cute!

  • look at that damn hair...that damn dress..melanie could never act well...don is a mess...

  • She thanked the author of the book first - that's Geena! The Mensa girl rrrrrocks!

  • Does anybody know about Sigourney's campaigning at the time? Was she rather expected to win supporting or lead?

  • @Alfito83 She was pretty much expected to win supporting as the race for Best Actress was definitely between Close and Foster, with Sigourney a distant third. The supporting race, or so said Spanish TV that evening, was between Weaver, the favorite, and Frances McDormand. Geena Davis was an outsider, as if I'm not mistaken she had not won any award prior to this (pretty much like Kevin Kline in the supporting actor category).

  • Ridiculous dress! Well, the eighties!

  • Geena has fabulous body figure! Who the hell dressed her up into this ridiculous exaggerated bottomed dress? I hope it was not herself who chose this. Without that piece, with straight skirt it would have been a very good dress. Pity.

  • Sigourney is too good not to have an Oscar. I wonder will some director ever cast her in a part to give her the Oscar?

  • weaver should have won. great performance

  • I think Sigourney shoud've won for "Working Girl", and judging be her reaction, Sigourney thought so too.

  • @joycollector I agree. Sigourney Weaver should have won. She is such a great actress and for her to not have an Oscar in her hands is such a shame on the members of the Academy. The Members of the Academy make such absurd choices. The never put credit where it REALLY belongs!!!!

  • @TopazBiscuit It really sucks cause she lost twice that night.

  • Right on.

  • I actually thought Don and Melanie were cute they had great chemistry. All played good roles but Geena was the best.

  • Mealnie Griffith gets on my nerves

  • Comment removed

  • those are two butt-ugly dresses D:

  • Geena Davis is such a beauty!

  • 1:58 That just SCREAMS 1980's.

  • I wish Michelle would have won.

  • Love Geena Davis! Acting AND archery what a woman!

  • OMG! what a butt ugly dress meg ryan wears...

  • WTF was Geena thinking with that dress? W O W

  • This was a BIG DEAL to the audience, seeing them appear on the stage. They were the hot couple of the time, getting back together. I hate these cheesy, unfunny jokes.

  • didnt care much for geena davis or the TERMINALLY boring accidental tourist. i wouldve given it to sigourney weaver or michelle pfeiffer.

  • That was sheer torture watching Don and Melanie!

  • What is Don Johnson?

  • Seriously, what is up with all five (except Michelle Pfeiffer) having the same haircut :) Just kidding, it was the 80's.

  • I wonder when the last time Johnson went to the oscars was?

  • Lots of great nominees, but she did deserve to win. Forgot she was married to Goldblum.

  • Sigourney Weaver was robbed

  • Isn't weird to see two actors from Stuart Little interacting with each other? Griffith was in the second one.

  • Melanie was so fucking hot. Don badly needs a haircut.

  • I'm so glad that she didn't stop smiling as she went to get the award, that's exactly what I'd be like. I would be like Muriel walking down the aisle.

  • the dress is really ugly damn

  • I remember some dumb entertainment "journalist" actually referring to Griffith and Johnson as the new Tracey and Hepburn back in the day! VOMIT.

  • Melanie Griffith is an annoying bitch

  • back when she was fuckable

  • aun casada con jeff goldblum

  • she's so beautiful. even in the horrible 80's styles and hair

  • OMG--they are so full of themselves! Two UNBEARABLE minutes of stupidity...

  • I have a feeling that whoever was laughing at Don and Melanie's bullshit were planted and paid by them.

  • OMG...Griffith was SO NOT FUNNY in that segment. Hard to believe she was up for an Oscar that year!

  • Melanie Griffith is a dumb cunt

  • Oh, brother--spare us your corny dribble and just present the damn Oscar!!

    Sheesh!!!

  • One has to remember that in 1989 those 2 were pretty much at the peak of their careers but those of those caeers are long over now!

  • Just get to the frickin' Oscar already!! Jeez, you guys ain't ALL THAT!!

  • Where is the fashion police? Hello...

Melanie, we love your wedding dress. Why did you take off the veil?

Geena, nice color. But what the heck is going on the back of your dress?

  • It think that WAS Melanie's veil on the back of Geena's Dress!!!!!!

  • Two seconds in you can tell this is the 80's

  • soo true

  • oh, Melanie was so lovely!

  • WAS is the key word, that's for sure! She looks like a poster child for an amateur plastic surgeon now...YIKES.

  • video stops playing after 2:38

  • I wonder what ever happened to Don Johnson...

  • I could think of better people to wonder about than that silly-looking FOOL...

  • i want michelle to win someday she's such an amazing actress, and i hope she will,

  • oh i love her!

  • I am so glad that Geena won! She is the best!

  • Sorry, but that should have been Sigourney's or even Michelle's.

  • yea she wonnnn

  • por eso nadie te quiere Melanie, más que tu Antonio...

  • Geena is my favourite Actress ever! Glad she won (although I have to admit Sigourney or Joan Cusak should have won).

  • Geena's back of the dress sucks!!!

  • wtf is geena wearing.

  • Anyway, to cut Griffith and Johnson some slack, I remember the presentation by couples that year were particularly long. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell also talked about not being married yet for quite some time before awarding the Best Director Oscar, so did Roger Moore, Michael Caine and Sean Connery prior to Kevin Kline's win.Cher presented Best Picture at 300 km/h, though.

  • Obviously, everybody knows Sigourney should have won that year.

  • I agree with you, I wish Sigourney would won an Oscar someday...

  • She should've won lead, not supporting. Foster only won because of the rape scene.

  • Michelle Pfeiffer should've won, but I like Geena so it's ok.

  • if u pause it at 1:03 thru
