  • A starship such as the Enterprise should never, EVER be tarnished in ANY way.

  • Great job! A perfect compilation of the launch scenes!

  • That is one beautiful lady...

  • @kb7rky The Motion Picture certainly isn't the greatest movie ever made, though they did a reasonable job of the Director's Cut afterwards. But the scene in TMP where Kirk is taken out to the Enterprise in dry dock is just PERFECT! You're given glimpses of "her" to tantalise you first, then she is suddenly lit up in all her glory - just amazing and one of the best film sequences ever in my opinion.

  • This is a really cool take on things- Excellent!

  • Great Job!

  • Brilliant! This is really top not professional stuff here. Nicely done.

  • That was artfully done. A lil film grain filter and close to perfect. I'm amazed!

  • if only our little monkey brains could put together a faster than light trasport........

  • Amazing!!!!!

  • how did the originally do this scene? just one big ass space dock model and some string?

  • I have said this many of times on this site, that some of the BEST talent on the planet post on this site. You rank with the best of them!!!!! I say this again people like you should be the one's in Hollywood because you have imagination, those tin heads in L.A. no longer have it!!!!!!

  • my cool meter is off the scale

  • sweet. nicely done. i imagine the light and shade effects must've took some time. well i have a poster of the enterprise from the first move 4 feet by 2 feet with cutouts and a key describing all the sections of the enterprise on my wall.

  • this vide is fantastic and very well made great job mate!

  • Just a suggestion that you may want to add some small 'structures' and 'greening' to Mars, since terraforming was started in the mid-22nd century (ST:Enterprise "Terra Prime") and this is about 100 years later.

  • I do have one complaint though, the light on Mars should be a cresent, not half lit.

  • I'm sorry but there's nothing like the ole lady Enterprise... I tear up when I see this version of the ship. :)

  • WOW!!

  • If memory serves, the Enterprise flew by Jupiter and not Mars.

  • Very well done.

  • very, *very* well done.

  • This is trekkie shipper porn right here

  • 100 percent fantastic do more please

  • WOW!

  • This is breathtaking!

  • Missed the upside down waving guy ;)

  • This is the most realistic one I've seen, too bad the real one wasn't this sweet.

  • Excellent job. I wish I had that kind of talent. You planning on doing any projects?

  • absolutely beautiful spectacular fantastic wonderful awesome inspiring - can't find enough words to describe - most supremely excellent in every way !!!!!

  • Beautiful!! congratulations!!

  • enterprise didn't have launching sequences as epic as this. O.o

  • First class video, well done

  • fuck me silly. Nicely done.

  • I liked the new movie Enterprise but that can't ever compare to the origional especially the movie version

  • Oh wow...I'm speechless.

    Very, very nicely done!

  • Nicely Done !!

  • The model they used in 1979 is much better than the computer stuff.

  • what did you use to make these

  • @TheJireh123

Take a look in the ending credits, there are all programs listed

  • @mylex67 Was this made using like a space simulator, like Orbiter, or something else? If it wasn't Orbiter what did you use?

  • @mylex67 wow amazing!....they could use your CGI enhancements in a special edition release of the movie imagine that...it looks just about that genuine to me!

  • Rockin!

  • this still looks CG but obviously this is awesome!!!!

  • Brought a tear to me eye... :)

  • @stephanecantin72 Me too. There was and never will be a fine vessel as the USS Enterprise NCC-1701.

  • Good work, far above the usual Internet fare, although no CGI will ever surpass the love they showed the physical model in TMP. If you've studied what went into it, you know that TMP put more effort into the Enterprise visuals than pretty much every other Trek film combined.

Incidentally, here's an accuracy check: Rewatch TMP and look at when the warp engines are engaged (i.e., when the nacelles are lit up). It's not just when the ship is at warp speed. All future Trek films missed that detail.

  • One word. and that is..

    EXCELLENT.

  • This is beautiful!!

  • Amazing !!!

  • Truly movie quality work.

  • Damn fine job on this. This is better than the Blu-Ray of TMP.

  • Bravo!!!

  • you forgot the little guy standing on the drydocak and waving :)

  • Stealing the enterprise from STIII would be pretty awesome to see with these kind of pretty renders sure to be a winner

  • Very nice.

  • Yeah, a much better job. But umm, why are there two panels dislodged from the saucer section @ 0:18 ? O_O

  • @Coraxuss Because they were like that in the movie scene.

  • @waffleownage

Oh yeah, I remember now. Can't believe I forgot that part. I imagine it would have been cooler though if they added the smaller shuttles exiting the opened panels as was seen in the original footage.

  • great work! I loved the lights.

  • This is the BEST CGI recreation I've ever seen!!!

  • Great job!

  • awesome job man

  • This is just bad ass...i love the Enterprise and all of her glory, when she powers up, i cant wait to see the next scene when she goes to warp and enters through the wormhole.

  • Let me rephrase that: Animate her entering warp and at warp.

  • Can't wait to see you do her at warp :)

  • Impressive!

  • this is just epic. (reaches under desk to get copy of TMP to watch again.LOL

seriously, this is excellent work. you make me wish i had talent like this.

    Keep it up.

  • Yo did an epic job! Well done!

  • Excellent, fun to watch!

  • HOLY CRAP!!!!

  • that is just AMAZING. seriously.

  • HOLY!

    I'm blown away, like really.

  • This is just gorgeous!! You did a FANTASTIC job of creating the feel, the color, the mood of the original sequence. The only things I would crit, and they are not bad is, to add a bit mor "pearlescent" to the hull. Also the shuttle bay you depict actually belongs to the NCC-1701A (not the refit as seen in STTMP - STIII) - which had the longer shuttlebay. I'm currently working on the Polar Lights build. Still Excellent work!!

  • Excellent work! More! More!

  • I'm not sure how you could get any closer to the real thing, mylex. This was absolutely beautiful! And kudos to you for putting the curve of the Earth into the background during the departure. Bravo!

  • Beautiful, that was just downright beautiful. This video gave me an even better appreciation of Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
