  • gorgeous [2]

  • This is a really clear example of Motif Development. I'm a Dance Teacher and I use it demonstrate what a Movement Motif is to my 11 year olds. It's a nice dance. It might not be ground breaking stuff and it might not be particularly dynamic or complex but it is a pleasant watch and a well structured piece and ultimately that's what watching Dance is about. I enjoyed it anyway...

  • it's not dynamic, that makes it kind of boring, it's a shame, cause it is a good dancer!

  • If I saw this in live-action as in real life and not on a video than this would be

really good but of course as a video the quality isn't nearly as nice as seeing it in live action. but then again ty for sharing the video.

  • i dont like it. too somple

  • simple???? can u hold ur body over ur head? can u slow yourself down to make all ur ab muscles control u? simple my ass

  • I think that song is a little difficult to dance. But she did a great job! congratulations!

  • wtf means what the fuck but i liked it it was rili gud

  • gorgeous.

  • wtf!!!

  • does that mean you like it?

  • That was very good choreography and damn good execution . Watch her fall into harmonics and keeps herself energy neutral .

  • nice performance and nice corografi

  • I HATE contemporary dance soo much so boring and just common

  • You just do not understand it, do not feel each little movement. try to watch it by your soul. Actually, I thought the same just recently, but now.... I love it!! I've just got in, stated to feel :)

  • actually u gotta do some, when u start realizing you know every little cm of your skin, you'll see what it is all about. give it a try.

  • Great control

  • i could not sit in some auditorium for six minuntes just watching you flounce around like you have no idea what you're doing or any feeling about it...

  • She has perfect technique, but she needs to let go a bit more, and actually feel the music. She doesn't look like she's enjoying it; she's just doing the choreography, instead of performing it.

  • k actually it was good. im sorry i was just pissed that day, good job :)

  • yes actually i can :)

  • suckkeddd

  • what do u mean it sucked???u probably cnt do betta

  • this is very good vicky ,very enjoyble

  • What talent!

  • that's really cool! i love contemporary! <33

  • This is good but a little boring, I don't see you I just see the coreography when you dance. Try to flirt with the crowd more and make it more inviting. Great extention though!

  • does any one know the song?

  • i wish i had her butt ;)

  • O tempo limitou o movimento, resultando no dançar.

  • ok...i have to say that if i was a fan of contemporary dance i would like her but im not and i dont even consider this dance. but i can say that she has a lot of muscle and that i think she should go into ballet or hip hop. she looks like she has the right body structure to do that kind of stuff.

  • This is amazing! Its a shame that some people on youtube haven't appreciated this video fully. Although all good art should divide opinion. Contemporary is certainly the dancers style of choice, and my favourite. The skill and strength that went into this is immense and it just looks beautiful.

  • I go to school for dance right now and I'd have to say her technique is spot on.

  • thanks for your comment ...

  • that was the uglyest thing what was she doing

  • sorry you weren't able to appreciate the dance art ...

  • thats not dancing sorry

  • india has studied ballet and contemporary dance since she was 4 years old and has a bachelors in dance and is working on her phd. she has studied dance in brazil, germany, italy, and the usa. this is a peace choreographed by a local mentor and this event is in appreciation of many local choreographers. you are entitled to your opinion, but your comments are immature and do not relate to any appreciation of art.

now, tell me about YOUR experience ... a college cheerleader dance team?

  • hell no you dident i have been dancing since i was two count it up 17 years of dance so suck it up i really dont get whats shes is doing or should i, but all i know its not dance well compared to mine, sorry oh you wanted to know every comp. i have done i got qween or won oh yeay i go to ever dance voted for best teams where do u go cheap dance?

  • i love the modern style of dancing.

    nice!

  • I have to say that have you seen so you think you can dance? people have all this so called "experience" and suck. This dance does not suck but it is not perfect either. The stiffness of the body makes it look awkward. She has great control but really this dance doesn't offer anything new and feels very awkward with the turns at the beginning very stiff.

  • thanks for your comment. all i can see is that this is art and that it is contemporary dance. India is dancing to a choreographers product. some of these moves are not easy ...

  • i agree... ballet/hiphop/acro....thats dancing... to be honest...she looks possesed!

  • you have to be carful though... there is two different worlds to dance... the main stream comercial world ... ike hip hop jazz ect.... then there is contemporary... i mean real contemporary non of this so you think you can dance stuff.... and it is more art then dance but yet still dance.... tuth movment with a porpose can be considered dance

  • sorry for all the spelling errors i was typing fast my bad :)

  • that was crazy

  • crazy good?

  • you have really nice control of your movements..

  • I'm thinking, there were really beautiful things you did sometimes, but the beginning of the dance mixed with the quality of the film was creeepy. And it looks like you're making it up as you go.

  • meh, it was alright. but like the moves were excellent and everything, but there was no expression or feeling to it, it was kinda just like the dancer was just doing the dance. whatevs, keep it up! :)

  • that was really long. it wasn't bad but nothing special

    how old is she here?

  • yo i tho ught it was alright i agree tho it was more the coreography the dancer was really nice tho. and just a question im a ballet and contempory dancer and i notice tht most of th dancers at my ballet skul hav heavy calves how do we fix ths?

  • Choreography was not good. You have to go with the music and against it for contrast, but the choreographer did not establish when it was against the music or with it. A lot of the demand for making some of those modern movements look pleasing were not met by the dancer. The choreographer is more to blame for not catering that solo to her rather than her not meeting some of those, UNREALISTIC demands set forth.

  • how old is she here?

    looks so young..

    like a teenager..

  • i used to do some of her classes (of contemporany and ballet) here in Florianópolis-Brazil

    she is amazing!!

    great job!!!

  • yes an amazing dancer ... but that's about it.

  • I am unipressed with the compositional integrity of this piece. Where is the through-line of material? Is there a focus, an emotional connection? It is fine to show-off exceptional movement, but there isn't an evolution of meaning that comes through. I think that this could really could be condensed to create something more captivating.

  • very nice. in terms of extensions and stuff i would expect more from professional ballerina and college graduate but this is AMAZING contemporary. the first piece of real authentic dance i've seen all day as opposed to competition crap. it's rare that a really good ballet dancer can perfect contemporary movement so props to her. [although i've never seen her do ballet] i love the audio, and the choreography is the most amazing part by far.

  • SWEET INDEED!! nice.. and also she's got beautiful feet :-)

  • India moves beautifully; much better than almost all Ballet dancers. I much prefer watching with out the sound, as the music is regular and India's movements vary in dynamic.

Everybody loves narrative and I would have liked acted glances to suggest interaction with something and greater stillness; to produce a narrative flow and to contrast the fantastic movement.

  • An experimental musician could have great fun playing to India's dancing. There is a sharp horizontal hand wave that is repeated that I don't understand, I would be grateful if it could be explained.

  • I hope you retain your obvious love of moving and am certain you will be very popular.

    Charles

  • Love it! :)

  • Seré atrasado, pero, salvo el esfuerzo realizado por la danzarina, lo demás no tiene mucho valor para mi.

  • this is neat. i absolutely loved it! i showed my friends and they loved it too. good job!

  • Art is subjective and objective. I have to say that this is a piece of soul and heart. If you have to question the technical ability of this young and growing dancer, ok, but I loved it. Watch her face the next time and explore her experience, breathtaking and real. We need more real and authentic dance. If people are concerned about the repetition it's called theme and variation and the repetition around the space facing all directions is tribal. Keep watching the details!

  • I agree the dance was good. I liked the music, it was different and unique. In the beggining it kinda of repeated the moves a litle bit but overall a good dance. So please don't get all defensive. I mean I was just trying to give her some tips. I mean I have been dancing for 14 years you would think that I would now something about dance (LOL) BUT her dancing is unique and beautiful. She will make it far in the dance career! Brianna Nichole

  • India has been dancing since she was 4 years old. She has a 4 year degree in dance and has studied dance in Germany, Italy, Brazil, and the United States.

  • WOW that is amazing!!!! I am still a high school student...but I have a dance scholarship to PBA (Palm Beach Atlantic University) so I am hopefully going ot have that much experience....I have been dancing since I was 3 years old and i am 16 now and this is my 14th year. Dance is hard work don't you think? But SO WORTH it...so what kind of dance class do you take. I do Pointe, Ballet, Lyrical, and Jazz. Plus I do competitions and conventions to learn more.

  • Hello Everybody

I just want to say this is Music in her soul

It doesn't matter repeating step or beat

She dance her inspiration way which not much people really understand the feeling of one dance

To me this is AWESOME DANCE

  • I love Ballet and this wasn't a ballet number. You repeated the same steps over and over. Staticy but ok dance. keep up the work.

  • you are correct, this is better described as modern contemporary dance. thanks for watching!

  • im bored after a minute, the music was awful it was static and abit odd, it wasnt ballet

  • If you want people to watch the whole thing and enjoy it, the solo needs to be a lot shorter, the dancing wasn't on the beat of the music, pick a different song, but the dancing was unique

  • what beat? the music has no beat ...

  • You looked very static and your hands needs some MAJOR work. Your just executing steps and not dancing from ANYWHERE. On the other hands congrats on such a long solo.

  • very beautiful!

  • i thought it was okay for an Professional! i expected better! maybe the song threw me off!

  • If your a dancer click here for more awsome videos. Subscribe and get weekly tips on dancing rutines!

  • the music isn't quite in sync but other than that, that was freakin amAzInG!!!

  • good job!

  • music is kinda ..blahh but ur a good dance and the stage is rele small and you still danced good on it

    good job=p

  • Really good Job but it gets kinda boring, better music maybe next time.

  • It was pretty good. Your technique was good but it didn't really flow. It just looked like you were doing moves. And get more into it and more people will enjoy watching you.

  • i loved it, really expressive and beautiful to watch :P so jealous of your flexability :)

  • the turn in 2:20 was great. negative: music doesn't match the movement

  • oh my god amazing! Some of the actions look totally impossible - your balance is reli good. Worth every second :)

  • thank you!
