This programme had the coolest lifts ever. I know they've improved their "goose" - but the excitement of seeing something like that for the first time (to say nothing of their serpentine lift at the beginning) will never be equalled! I adore that lift where she looks like she's sitting on the ice, but isn't. Just cool!

their rythym on the side by side is truly unbelievable. THis skate is still as good as it was when I watched it last year. Althgouh they have improved their signature "goose lift".

absolutely awesome performance, however it reminded me of a pair skating rather than ice dancing............... we already have pair skating, do we need doubling? while i was watching their brilliant performance, i had a feeling that he will now lift her up or just throw her away just as pairs do......

Ice dancing is totally different from pair skating.....and the rules are very strict just to keep them separate sports.There is NO"doubling"!

My jaw dropped when I saw this program for the 1st time. FINALLY someone does something innovative and creative! I'm so damn tired of those neverending classical/lyrical/romantic performances (and I love classic music) with over dramatized antics, arms flailing around, same ol' lifts, tasteless costumes etc. In my view, they should have won with this performance, but judges are way too conservative (and God knows what else is going on there with judging).

Hope they win at Vancouver! :)

this was such a great, strategic performance. they knew their ultimate strength is in love stories so they chose a unique theme this year so they wouldnt be accused of complacency in an olympic year. what a gutsy music choice. true dancers. thank you virtue and moir for bringing "real" back to ice dance.

Very deserving podium finish. Unlike couple below them, these two really show great basics- line, extension, control. They know modern dance all about- shifting body weights according to enhance and change movement- very musical pair.

Look at clean matching leg lines- 5:53-5:58 extension,perfect unison.

While some couple below them do fast twizzles to gain points, these two are musical and aesthtic - extension, stretch, even look at 6:13..free leg stretch to create good line.

And above all, this is DANCE. Its also aesthetic appeal, even their spins have incredible line- the other couple only spin in ugly position really fast to get points. But look at 1:18-1:35 .. .. wearing black doesn't let one hide weaknesses....bravo to them!

This performance was insane I think for them it was a great performance that needed more time and could've been a monster come Olympics but I think that they deserved what they got at the worlds and they are back very strong and poised for the Worlds and olympics this year

People just calm down their FD was the best program by far but they need to work at the CD and OD more for the 1st place and they`re very young so they`ll be in first place prob in 2010 or 2011

What I understand is that you have some kind of intolerance problem. Ok, you preferred Virtue and Moir. You don´t have bad taste at all but you´re not ready to be a judge if you are not able to see anything good in the other top teams.

I disagree. All he's saying is, that this was the best performance of the night, which I sympathized with. It has nothing to do with intolerance problems. In my eyes, Virtue and Moir had just skated better than other couples.

I am from Russia and of course should support our dancers but when I watched this program on TV I was simply shocked by such a high level of skating. Something incredible. I wish them Olympic gold in Vancouver 2010.

As much as I love these kids, they shouldn't have finished on podium. Maybe They came back too fast, maybe the new costumes threw them, I don't know, but they were just off here. Their speed and timing was below par.

Meryl and Charlie should've got the bronze medal.

Brilliant, moving... I was disappointed that the judges decided as usual. Maybe in total points Virtue/Moir didn't win, but don't tell me that FD of Russian pair was the best.

In my opinion should be: 1) Virtue/Moir, 2) Davis/White, 3) actually... no idea

Yes, to me it's really like comparing class, creativity, elegance and good taste on the one side, with lack of imagination, artificiality, and vulgar overacting on the other... But well. I think this was the best FD on presentation by far (although it got only the 3rd presentation mark), on the technical side though Davis & White were probably the strongest (and they did get the highest mark actually!)

I think they were responding to people who claimed they were not innovative enough. This is not a conventionally pleasing routine. I give them a lot of credit for moving out of their comfort zone. Well done.

Absolutely. I was one of these people. Unlike most, I did not like their last FD, I thought it was conventional, boring, bland... But this one, I found brilliant! So this strategy worked!

and the timing couldnt have been better. they did this in the season before the olympics, so at least they could see for themselves if they could succeed with this kind of FD, not the usual romantic, lyrical style. if this didnt work, then they could always turn around and do their signature style come olympic year.

They are a really great couple....but why the hell they decided to copy delobel shoenfelders fd music????

Delobel Shoenfelder had a better fd they understood it better and artisticly were better then canadians

Both teams picked the same music--the Pink Floyd part--in the off season. There was no copying by Virtue and Moir. It's a coincidence. These things happen.

Love the simple costumes on them. The ones that they used at 4CC seemed to take too much away from the performance. These allowed the beauty of the movement to shine through.

They really moved this programe foward. İt looks fantastic and technical elements are so strong so unique just fabulous but there is something missing in this one and its the transitions I think. They are actually so great at footwork but don't think that Maria and İgor choreographed the footwork sequences and transitions that well this time. Lifts are perfect as usual and they just push the limits breath taking well done!

Wow I loved that first spin. This is an innovative routine, especially with that crazy lift at 2:53! I think I haven't seen such an innovative program in a long time. Which means the new regulations are not entirely responsible for the lack of imagination in most of the routines today... The moves at 3:22 and 3:54 were breathtaking too...
