Without the Ipaq you wouldn't have your precious Iphone...think about it.

  • People forget that before we had iPhones and Android phones we had these devices that believe it or not were once revolutionary and at one point everybody wanted one. Having a micro-computer in your pocket was all the rage 10 years ago. Now we have phones that have dual core processors, the latest wireless technologies and cutting edge graphics processing. We wouldn't be were we are today (cell phone technology wise) if it weren't for the PDA. Even our current devices will soon get old and dated

  • how much was the ipaq

  • Hello, i have lost my install cd, can anyone send me via e-mail the driver? Thank you

  • can it do youtube?

  • This PDA is cool i like it but i win buy it because i will buy a samsung galaxy tablet

  • can i read pdf files and use adobe pro to edit?

  • Thank you for posting this. Seems Ipaq is the last one standing, for palmtop PDAs. I had a work cell, and had no privacy, plus the people I had to talk to, were mostly undesirables, so I'm glad it dosn't come with a phone. Sorry to see Dell, Acer, Palm go out of the maket. Looks like its only HP, industrial, and GPS types left. :-(

  • iPAQ, iPad. Hmmm, similarities here

Also note that the HP Slate looks verrrry similar to the iPad

  • @drrobertoboogie97

yes, quite simmilar. i bet you can't guess which came first??

in case you didnt know, hp came out with the iPAQ years before the the ipad came out. in fact, if i remember correctly, Compaq came out with it first, before they became part of HP. yeah, i had an iPAQ back from 2001. people think that apple was first to the game in the areas of touch devices, they're wrong. HP came out with the first consumer touch computer back in '83 called the HP-150. Apple is the late one.

  • @LogicalDecay You just stated what I thought in the first place. I think the "Pad" in iPad comes from this. You can see this because I wrote iPAQ before iPad.

  • @drrobertoboogie97

nice. shows how tired i was.. i was misinterpreting it as you saying that apple was being ripped off or something. my bad.. X_x

  • are there a lot of applications for the iPaq? is it like a normal computer?

  • looks like iphone 4 o.o

  • Does it have a desktop? I miss windows CE, that was the shit when it came to portable business efficiency. I still remember my little pocket pc =) But then they scraped CE for mobile, is it similar to CE? or did they ruin it?

  • Thanks for the review. I got one today. :)

  • @sirNemanjapro This is like 2 and a half years old... theres probably a much faster and newer one out..

  • 230 € je vends un iPaq tout neuf est encore dans son emballage d'origine.

  • Wats the diffrence between thus and 211

  • How long time does the 2200MAh battery have?

  • how to correctly convert movies? without lag? and whats the best video player? please help. ty. [reply] o2 xda mini s my pocket pc

  • @yeappii Try core player and for streaming you tube try m.youtube.com

  • excellent vid tnx .....

is it any good for a university student? since it runs microsoft word mobile and excell mobile it saves me having to take my heavy laptop with me around the university n different lectures

How easy is it to download stuff? for example if i wanted to download yahoo messenger (although i understand it comes with windows live messenger ) is it doable?

  • @bsoujeri for mine all additional software i have tried has worked

  • Sorrry buys no built in GPS on this one unless you buy an external adaptor for gps

  • I've got 300 downloaded, non-DRM PDF files I'd like to read when I'm away from my laptop. I've been researching eReaders (Kimble, Sony, etc) and I'm very disappointed with what I've seen.

However, am I right in suggesting that a PDA like the iPAQ, even with the 4" screen, would not be very good for reading PDF files for an hour or so at a time? Is the screen just too small?

Does anyone know of a good alternative to eReaders such as the Sony PRS600?

  • @xsonicbladex This isn't a phone!

  • @leodee I know, but its functions were completely replaced by smart phones, mainly blackberry's and the iphone

  • @leodee Besides the phone part, I don't see how the iPhone replaced pocket pc. If you ignore the clunky OS, they're great devices.

  • @xsonicbladex some people don't need an iphone with its ridiculous monthly data plans + voice plans. this is just a simple, yet powerful pda.

  • @xsonicbladex thank god android replaced that hideous iphone crap btw are you retarded? or do you just think you know what is what? the ipaq is not a phone its a PDA

  • @xsonicbladex Thank god the Android replaced the iPhone!

  • @korwinblue lol, thank god the htc thunderbolt is replacing the android!

  • @XmortdreadX C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!

  • @DaBurntToaster DUDE I LOVE THAT GAME. except that raptor it always kills me

  • @DaBurntToaster can this phone make phone calls?

  • @xsonicbladex yes it is a win, no the iphone can not replace something of a different "genre" (your comparing halo to disneyland)

  • @XmortdreadX although it's a different genre it's one that is obsolete and replaced, primarily by the iphone

  • If anyone could help me with some insight into the internet usage of these thing, I'm unsure about it all really! Can you be standing on the highroad and be on the internet like a mobile phone? and who would get good use out of one of these? I mean are they targeted at business people mainly or would your typical mid-20's lad get any fun out of it?

    Thanks

  • heh , shocking looking at that ugly tjhing 2 years on when i look at my htc hd2

  • Is it a phone also?

  • No, i don't think so, it's only PDA, not GSM.

  • Wow, I didn't even know that PDA's where even made anymore. Looks pretty nice.

The best PDA ever made...Tungsten T3 baby. Had that for several years before I upgraded to a pda phone.

  • Can someone help me, back when i was 9 years old, my school were doing ap project which involved giving all the of us PDA's, do the PDA's now still have that problem where the PDA hard resets itself when it runs out of battery, or does it all save like a phone?

  • It does not hard reset when it runs out of battery. Since Windows mobile 5 was released manufacturers stopped using the RAM as storage.

  • ahhh, excellent, has anything else changed?

  • The ability to upgrade the OS. When and if a new one is avialable for a specific device. There are more. but you need to go research for them.

  • Wow, and I see it's now available for mobile phones, I wish I bought a windows phone now (got a new phone for xmas -.-')

  • damn .... has no jack I/O xd

  • no headphones jack................

  • it is, under the device, he even shows it...

  • HP products are bulky~ i GOT MYSELF an ipaq 6965~ it's too bulky that i start to hate it~however, i have no choice...i have to keep using it t

  • HOW MUCH IS THIS PHONE\

  • Its not a phone, its a PDA

  • i have a Ipaq RX3115

  • Is the black strip supposed to be sticking out once you have the backside closed-after you put the battery in place?

  • Hey, how much was that ?

  • ihhhhh

  • this is a really good device!!!!

  • i am using 4gb SD and 4gb CF :]

  • Do you have to use a stylus for... doing stuff?

or can you do it with your hands if you're in like a hurry or something?

  • you can make it with bouth.

  • how much? where did u get it

  • whats a pda?

  • personal digital assistant....

  • i like this. i want one so i dont have to rely on a computer. imagine, making a power point IN CLASS! but how the hell do u type on a PDA?

  • u can get apps so u get a full screen (in landscape mode) keyboard. that's what i use and its easier, u can user ur finger :D

  • what's the maximum card capacity storage (SD) that this PDA Suports???

  • 32gb

  • this phone can handle the maximum which is 32 gb

  • i hate big phones

can u show us how to do ssh setup on an iphone ?!

  • So it costs money for internet browsing?

Is this the same for the 3695?

  • No it doesnt cost to browse if you use WiFi, which is the only way you are going to be able to get online with this PDA.

  • Okay. This is the 214 I just realised, I'm looking at a 212 on ebay, are there any serious differences i should be worried about?

  • The 211 is the new and improved version WootMapler get that

  • you can connect a pc webcam or another webcam? sorry for my bad english..i am romanian

  • waste of money. Looks good.. i want one.. i just don't see the point. you can get a small laptop cheap now. smart phones ftw

  • i love how many people ask if u can call with it lol noobs, its just a pda for people who would rather have it seperate from their phone for more efficient work for their busy lives :P it serves well as a laptop replacement as well

  • can u call with this thing ?

  • its a pocket pc, i dont think any pocket pc/ PDAs can call

  • Is this a phone aswell?

  • Actually this isnt a Phone, it's just a PDA. Where did you see the word phone in it??

  • what are the features

  • smart alec

  • We have a full review on our website.

  • whats the difference between 211 and 214.. any big difference or maybe slight??

    Please let me know!

  • Is this good for first PDA?

  • this or Dell Axim X51v?

  • personally id go with hp because the company builds quality stuff

  • or if you can spend more check out OQO

  • I was going to get the 211 but everyone said that the speaker was pathetic, barley audible. To watch a movie you have to wear headphones...no thanks!

  • I gave it to my sister as a christmas present. She liked it because her main interest in this model is to read e-books, and it has a big 4 inch screen.

  • i want one are they good

    or rubish

  • for some reason whenever i take it off the charger it turns off can anyone help me to figure out why it does that?

  • well it sounds like ur baterys dead

  • but i put it on the charger all night long and the same hing happen

  • no i ment that the batery is broken becuz u hav to totaly run down the batery b 4 charging it again otherswise it breakes ur batery.

  • This PDA is great one, I recommend anyone to buy this one, because it plays movies very good and smoothly. the only missing functions is Phone, Camera...but equipped with a powerful processor and 128MB RAM.

  • I have it..!

  • do recommended it for like a first pda?

  • do people still use pda's anymore cause most smartphones are kinda like pda's, its just what exactly are they used for other than managing appointments and stuff are they wifi or bluetooh, the one from hp has a beautiful screen but is it worth the $500 they want for it, thats alot for a pda, the sony clie series was nice too

  • It's like a tiny computer you can bring anywhere.

  • ebay for cheaper new ones. and pda have more power (ram and memory) wise. smart phones don't have as much and are slower

  • is there any PDA with a camera.

  • Just as curiosity. This is just a pda or a phone too like the HP iPaq 910c Business Messenger?

  • i am jealous!!!!!!

  • this sounds rlly stupid, but what exactly do u use these pda's for? r they made to access stuff from ur pc?

  • Do ipqs make calls plz dont send anything stressy back im only wondering

  • This model cant but some can.

  • i have a question

if u want to acces ur pc using log me in or vnc can u install those programs to the ipaq?

  • wich pda do u consider better this one or the ipaq 111??

I planning on buying one thats why =)

  • well ipaq 214 is better than 114. the speed is the same on both device thanks to fast 624mhz processor, but ipaq 214 has more ram (128mb), also has beautiful 4" display which is vga as u can see(ipaq 110 has 3.5inch 320x240 screen).so my opinion is that this device (214) is best buy at the momment.

  • were can i buy this product other than e-bay?

  • I didn't understand all your question but, you can use the ipaq all in landscape then de video, ans you can watch it in fullscreen of course.

  • can you watch movies in landscape mode and, couldn't you just get a sprint mogul and have the same screen area plus a phone so all you'd have to carry is one device?

  • Ok, adrianglez474 i'll explicain to you. I didn't know that before someone explicained me it too. In fact, you can't beacause it's a porblem of type of CPU. The computers CPU are the group of processors named "X86". An ipaq, as other pda, is in a "ARM" processor type. So when you make the program, you will compile it for X86 or ARM. And, computer's programs are too big for the pocket pc, it can't lanch it.

(I hoped I could make you understand that and I could speak correctly ^^)

  • Nice video! 2 question can i install normal programs like Ares, ect. you now like a regular pc. And that device have GPS?

  • Yes I have a HTC touch withouth graphic accelerator and a few RAM memory and there is a lot of games i can't launch. With a powerfull PDA as that iPaq, you can't imagine how many big games you can run! Beautyfull machine!

  • Does it support SDHC cards(8 gig for example)?

  • it should since its new the tmobile wing came out the beginning of 07 and mine supports the 8 gig without any trouble all new windows mobile devices will or should support sdhc

  • this will be amazing for me I am going to replace my hand held gaming consoles! with this new processor I can now run my PSX PSP DS and game boy Emulators with out the lag. The screen will be amazing for such apps, also and the extra rom will be nice for if I want to listen to my music at the same time. and with the compact flash allowing me to have 32gigs of high speed storage I can save all my games in one place W/O worrying about storage! now tell me if your nokia or Iphone can do that?

  • I bought one of these for £214 to replace my dead 2110 and what has changed!!! nothing just a bigger screen, BORING!!! I had to return mine as it is making a hissing sound when playing audio. HP you have lost the plot you could spend the same and get twice as much functions with phone, camera etc. This is not worth more than £130 for what it does (paper weight). I'm off to buy a MWg Atom Life now I can throw away my phone and stick it in my pocket.

  • just go buy the nokia n810....better technology....belive me i have one 810...very useful

  • The n810 isn't as expandable as the 210 series. Mainly because the n810 is mostly web apps. And I hear the n810 interface is chopier

  • The n810 isn't as expandable as the 210 series. Mainly because the n810 is mostly web apps. And I hear the n810 interface is chopier

  • *cough splutter* Sorry, I almost choked then...

A Nokia have better technology than a Windows Mobile device? Shut up!

  • howmuch? whats the max CF u can insert into this?

  • i wish i waited like 2 months to either get this one or a smartphone....im just like pised cuzmy parents made me waste money..long story dont ask

  • please tell me!

    What happened.

I have been offered to buy a tungsten e2 off my mate and i have borrowed it.

I read really big e books (100+ meg) and it is SO SO SO SLOW!!!!!

How fast is this do you know?

  • if u mean me tell u something well i just shoulda waited a month cuz they came out with a newer model lol

  • round about 600 mhz believe 64mb of ram

  • Has this iPAQ usb host?

  • it has a miniusb port if thats what you mean

  • can I plug keyboard or pendrive? Thx

  • they have a special bluetooth keyboard. you can only use a normal keyboard or thumbdrive if you have a usb/mini-usb adapter

  • whats it like?

    is it worth buying?

  • i have this PDA and mobile sony ericson w810i,pda for Wifi,videos,icq,qip....w810i for prone, sms and mp3

  • whats better pda or pda phone?
