ur sick bro..u are one of, if not, the greatest freaken modern drummer ive heard of..find a gig or get a mag cover dude ur da shit. where can i find these tracks r they on the internet??
His speed's got almost nothing todo with the head tension nor his pedals, but the technique.
The point is to use ankle motion much more than oyur big leg muscles. Using small and faster muscles makes you able to reach higher tempo's for a longer amount of time. You'll loose volume as well, but that's no problem with bassdrumtriggers (which are widely accepted in metal).
You know your making this test at school and you tap your foot on the ground with heels up? That's the same natural motion.
Hi Sinister, not sure why or what I pressed but I put a red thumbs down on your comment. It was an accident so please forgive me for that. I appreciate your comments they're very encouraging.
triggers no doubt right? they sound great. i can play 230ish+ no problem quietly, but i have 24x18 drums, danmar pads and woodbeaters on powerglide pedals, i need to hit hard to get a great sound, i can do 210 at fullpower it sounds great, but im working up to 210+ no prob with the fullpower which is like playing...muscle footing it heh.
Really good playing, man! awesome pedal rolls, regular, very nice! I'm working on it, but there's quite a step to reach! Keep it up, and keep playing some Metal!
the track of dimmu was recorded.. when you record a doublebass song, you can speed up (i never seen a live video of DB from this song) but this guy is drumming LIVE!!!
woah nice speed for barefoot drumming man, most drummers i met all complain about there speed and that they don't have shoos on :P (i still think your fast even after watching George Kollias's speed workout vid :P.)
Thanks for your comments - for all of the comments on this page, I really appreciate them and for you veiwing my video. Check out the other vids I have.
I bought them after having knee surgery, so I didn't go insane, but nearly fell into the feather hit syndrome!
If guitarist can have effects to make them sound better, why can't we? They still have to play the notes to make the sound, just like we have to play each hit with accuracy to make the trigger sound.
Thanks for your comments and for viewing guys and keep it METAL!!!
Thanks for the comments and I agree with you to an extent. I don't feel I can go any fast with triggers than I can without, for me it just gives more clarity to the sounds and makes it a bit more consistant. Plus it does mean I can roll for longer at high speeds.
Some drummers do set there triggers to sound a full on strike even if they bink behind their kits, but mine is set to as natural as I can make it.
with triggers i can do and sound great *obviously, thats what triggers are for* playing 210+ no problem but with 24" bass drums, wood beaters on PG's and dan mar pads with thick power stroke3 heads...ill sacrafice speed for power and volume anyday that i can still put off at 190bpm ish no problem, but with triggers ya it makes it a lot easier to score lighting speed with equal volume, recordings only of course :P heh
yay for bare feet
