In fact I think what they should have done years ago was make a DVD of the album that you could play in your car to listen to, but also be able to stick in your dvd to watch the video at home.
This is how I always thought music videos should have been done. I hate most stupid story or weird subject music videos. Some like Kelly Clarksons's that are actually stories that fit the subject of the song are good, but other than that I'd rather just see the band in the studio playing it when I watch a video of the song.
Dear friend, if you want to listen to this song again as well as an endless number of love songs I suggest you visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - look for the URL in Google (search Musica para Mimos). Greatest romantic hits of all times!!!
@redstone1963 Yep, that's definately Simon Phillips, but there's no feedback as Alan Parsons is a master producer who knows how to use EQ to eliminate any unwanted howl-around! ;)
Mediocre for Alan Parsons. It's great seeing him in the video, but the song has, unlike so much of what he's done before, unremarkable instrumentation and a forgettable melody.
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
I have followed TAPP since it was born in 1976. The music from TAPP is superior, by far, to all AP solo albums. However, I have to accept that there are incredibly amazing tracks in every of those works. The thing is that, when coupled with Eric, TAPP delivered some of the most beautiful music ever. Alan alone has produced very good music. Eric alone has produced very questionable works. None of them, by their own, have delivered the same magical music. Sad thing to say, but true.
I'd agree with you with the exception that Try Anything Once was better than Gaudi, and stands as a truly great album IMO that finished what the Project began with Gaudi and certain parts of Freudiana. I remember when Try Anything Once first came out, and we had such high expectations that at first it didn't measure up. Came back to it later and it was great. But yeah, starting with On Air, and even moreso after that album, it just wasn't the same anymore.
I just love Alan Parsons, without him my record collection in the 70/80's would have been lost without that special magic that is in all his music.....I just am so thrilled that Alan is back where he belongs in the studio with other high callibre muso's and giving us some more of his beautiful ballads and arrangements! I have just subscribed to Art & Science and can't wait to hear more! If you are watching this space Alan, thank you and big huggs from Australia!
Wow. Alan does an impressive job with the vocals. Eric did to back in the day but makes me wonder why Alan didn't do more vocals back in the heyday on at least one track here and there.
Great song! Como siempre Alan Parsons nos sorprende de nuevo. Aparte de ser uno de los mejores ingenieros de sonido del mundo, ahora nos sorprende cantando... este tipo es incombustible. Congratulations Alan. Saludos desde España.
Superb song and am hoping this will lead to a new album. The music world is blessed to have a talent such as Mr. Parsons continuing on and sharinghis great music with us.
I did enjoy the portly blouse wearing visuals, especially the swaying and overal parody/vanity vibe. It must have been a pleasure to work on the sessions for as long as the checks cashed.
Some music genres (and musicians') don't age well, but it is somewhat unique that 'new' music has this attribute from time of birth. Well done!
Really sweet! Love Alan Parsons, love its (paceful) spirit! I have my tickets to go see them: Gran Rex Theater, Buenos Aires, May 07th. Thanks for comming. I will be here. Love you guys.
This is so beyond awesome.... Mr. Parsons returns to his roots, and delivers a top notch song! And what a bonus, to have the master himself on vocals, with an incredibly talented group of musicians. I love them all. I watch this video at least once a day, and every time, I grin from ear to ear the whole time. Here's hoping this kickstarts his desire to do a whole new CD for all of his long time fans.
Nice! I am just rediscovering AP after being in a music fog for the past 20 years - maybe a bad marriage didn't help either. Great to see Alan making new music and it sounds great!
Lots of quotes from Macbeth in the lyrics—that "walking shadow" is from he "Tomorrow and tomorrow..." soliloquy when Macbeth pretty much realizes it's a losing battle, though the guy doesn't quit. But hanging out banners on the outward wall—I like the defiance. I've been listening to APP since I found Genesis Ch.1, v.32 on a Maxell RECORD(!) back in the seventies, some compilation promoting a lot of unknown artists. Had no idea who he was/they were. What a lucky find—he just gets better!
wonderful and so rare for myself i think of this new song titles about him and eric its reflective in tone but is striving ahead and to the future its double layered in interpeted lyrics nice to see the band together as another responder wrote this is very special nice to see alan moving ahead and respecting his history with eric- and in closing pj olsen your one special vocalist as are indeed the whole ensemble is here thamk you all for this.
I like this song. To me, Alan has always been the master of sound as well as taste. He may be a technical wizard, but his unfailing musicianship is what makes the songs he has recorded and/or composed such a delight for my ears. And, I was completely taken by P.J. Olson; I find it impossible to resist the emotion in his singing!
Great official videoclip, showing the state-of-the-art technology involved.
For us fans it's interesting to see Alan in the studio, not only producing/engineering but also singing (for the 1st time in a videoclip).
Good that, even in days of distance recording through internet, Alan still records the basic band all at once.
We look forward to see the "making" of this song on Alan's "Art and Science of Sound and Recording" triple DVD set, for which the song has been originally produced.
In fact I think what they should have done years ago was make a DVD of the album that you could play in your car to listen to, but also be able to stick in your dvd to watch the video at home.

Additional lead vocals: P. J. Olsson (A. Parsons)
Bass: Nathan East (E. Clapton, S. Wonder, P. Collins, J. Satriani, MJ)
