  • In fact I think what they should have done years ago was make a DVD of the album that you could play in your car to listen to, but also be able to stick in your dvd to watch the video at home.

  • This is how I always thought music videos should have been done. I hate most stupid story or weird subject music videos. Some like Kelly Clarksons's that are actually stories that fit the subject of the song are good, but other than that I'd rather just see the band in the studio playing it when I watch a video of the song.

  • Looks like Simon Phillips on drums, any feedback?

  • @redstone1963 Yep, that's definately Simon Phillips, but there's no feedback as Alan Parsons is a master producer who knows how to use EQ to eliminate any unwanted howl-around! ;)

  • @redstone1963 Yes ,Simon is a monster one of the greatest ever!!

  • Excellent song. Seeing Alan Parsons in SF this weekend!

  • This man has helped build so many careers.

  • speechles...

  • WOW!

  • Mediocre for Alan Parsons. It's great seeing him in the video, but the song has, unlike so much of what he's done before, unremarkable instrumentation and a forgettable melody.

  • Did not hear of this till now..how fantastic...so much better than the crap they put out today!!!! Bravo Mr. Parsons!!!!

  • WELL DONE MY BROTHERS IN CHRIST JESUS. AMEN

  • Great song !!! BRAVO ! With love from Moscow

  • I love this song. great Job!

  • WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

    AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING !

  • I can recognize Simon Phillips on the drums, and Nathan East on Bass. The other musicians I have no real clue about. Better knowledge, anyone?

  • @uafrankie P.J. OLSON BACKUP SINGER

  • @uafrankie Pj Olsson is the other singer with Alan....he sings on most of his concert tours...

  • ☼ SOLAR ♫ LOVE ♥ Liberty ∞

  • WELL DONE MY BROTHERS. AMEN

  • Looking forward to hear you and see you in Costa Rica, 2012!

  • Craziness is back in town... :)

  • Great to see current TOTO members Nathan East and Simon Phillips joining in on this awesome song!

  • 3:06 Who hell have opened the door ???

  • Oh my God .. I had not heard this...It will be my next cover....in my favorites

    See you soon

  • magnifique chanson, je l'adore

  • I have followed TAPP since it was born in 1976. The music from TAPP is superior, by far, to all AP solo albums. However, I have to accept that there are incredibly amazing tracks in every of those works. The thing is that, when coupled with Eric, TAPP delivered some of the most beautiful music ever. Alan alone has produced very good music. Eric alone has produced very questionable works. None of them, by their own, have delivered the same magical music. Sad thing to say, but true.

  • @InnerVisions1969

I'd agree with you with the exception that Try Anything Once was better than Gaudi, and stands as a truly great album IMO that finished what the Project began with Gaudi and certain parts of Freudiana. I remember when Try Anything Once first came out, and we had such high expectations that at first it didn't measure up. Came back to it later and it was great. But yeah, starting with On Air, and even moreso after that album, it just wasn't the same anymore.

  • Uno de los mejores grupos de todos los tiempos. Su calidad musical está siempre presente

  • master of masters !!!!

  • I just love Alan Parsons, without him my record collection in the 70/80's would have been lost without that special magic that is in all his music.....I just am so thrilled that Alan is back where he belongs in the studio with other high callibre muso's and giving us some more of his beautiful ballads and arrangements! I have just subscribed to Art & Science and can't wait to hear more! If you are watching this space Alan, thank you and big huggs from Australia!

  • Grabó la voz con un AT 4033? Genial!

  • Lux Lucet in Tenibris Totally Awesome and Inspiring!

  • Wow. Alan does an impressive job with the vocals. Eric did to back in the day but makes me wonder why Alan didn't do more vocals back in the heyday on at least one track here and there.

  • Mr. Alan Parsons : " Master of Masters ", I' ve seen you in your 3 concert in Argentine.

  • Looooooveee Alan Parsons! Thanks a lot for this! ;-))

  • I wonder if Steven Wilson from Porcupine Tree likes Parson's music ...

  • Holy Moly Thats Simon Philips!!!

  • FANTASTIC!!!

  • un tema perfecto

  • it's ok..

  • in a drum is simon Philips???

  • Fantastic!

  • FUE EXCELENTE EN BS AS!!!

    LARGA VIDA A ALAN PARSONS

  • Great song! Como siempre Alan Parsons nos sorprende de nuevo. Aparte de ser uno de los mejores ingenieros de sonido del mundo, ahora nos sorprende cantando... este tipo es incombustible. Congratulations Alan. Saludos desde España.

  • Superb song and am hoping this will lead to a new album. The music world is blessed to have a talent such as Mr. Parsons continuing on and sharinghis great music with us.

  • I did enjoy the portly blouse wearing visuals, especially the swaying and overal parody/vanity vibe. It must have been a pleasure to work on the sessions for as long as the checks cashed.

Some music genres (and musicians') don't age well, but it is somewhat unique that 'new' music has this attribute from time of birth. Well done!

  • Sehr sehr gut!

    ¡Buenísimo y bacán!

    Excellence.

  • i loved this song Alan , see you tomorrow in Buenos Aires

  • Absolutely awsome@@@@

Make it into an album Alan!!!!!!

    Love you!

  • I never want the Alan Parsons project to end, I relate to this music and it has deeply enriched my life.

  • Can just imagine Eric Woolfson singing this... would have suited his voice perfectly!

  • Peeg, looks like you recorded your parts in the cozy comfort of your home, nice song!!

  • This is so beyond awesome.... Mr. Parsons returns to his roots, and delivers a top notch song! And what a bonus, to have the master himself on vocals, with an incredibly talented group of musicians. I love them all. I watch this video at least once a day, and every time, I grin from ear to ear the whole time. Here's hoping this kickstarts his desire to do a whole new CD for all of his long time fans.

  • @pocketcat45 - you said it all perfectly! :) Alan - thank you!

  • @pocketcat45 I LOVE THIS!!!!!! I'm with YOU. I'm so glad I found this.

  • sound of sweet 80s. keep on mr. Parsons !

  • I can hear Richard Wright singing this somehow...

I saw him in Rotterdam the other day. They're fantastic live, but it's a completely different band than in this clip.

  • @ThirdMother This video doesn't feature a band, they're just studio musicians. Alan has a entirely different set of musicians for touring.

  • Thanks for (another!) great concert in Utrecht Holland, tonight!!!!!

  • PARABENS!! ALAN VENHA AO BRASIL!!!!

  • From the Dark side off the moon to this song...oh what a beautiful yesterdays! We miss you too in FRance Mister Alan!

  • After listening to bits and pieces of this song through his whole DVD I just had to listen to the whole song. I'm hooked...

  • Super song.

  • I love you Alan!!! Come back to Argentine, please!!!

  • Nice! I am just rediscovering AP after being in a music fog for the past 20 years - maybe a bad marriage didn't help either. Great to see Alan making new music and it sounds great!

  • @leafwalker12 Music fog for the past 20 years ! lol

  • Nice song... good to hear from you again Mr. Parsons

    Mark Williams singer/songwriter

  • I love Simon Phillips ever since I first heard him in Los Lobotomys and Toto. Loved Alan Parsons forever. Awesome.

  • Lots of quotes from Macbeth in the lyrics—that "walking shadow" is from he "Tomorrow and tomorrow..." soliloquy when Macbeth pretty much realizes it's a losing battle, though the guy doesn't quit. But hanging out banners on the outward wall—I like the defiance. I've been listening to APP since I found Genesis Ch.1, v.32 on a Maxell RECORD(!) back in the seventies, some compilation promoting a lot of unknown artists. Had no idea who he was/they were. What a lucky find—he just gets better!

  • After all this time...wow!

  • Great song with great musiciants and sounds. The best the fan can get. ;-)

  • This is a very nice song, especially with simon phillips who uses the rhythm of Toto's song I Will Remember. Please continue Alan.

  • Finally Alan is on the way back to his roots !! Keep goin' on !!!

  • Thank you, Alan!

  • wonderful and so rare for myself i think of this new song titles about him and eric its reflective in tone but is striving ahead and to the future its double layered in interpeted lyrics nice to see the band together as another responder wrote this is very special nice to see alan moving ahead and respecting his history with eric- and in closing pj olsen your one special vocalist as are indeed the whole ensemble is here thamk you all for this.

  • Smashing ! :D

  • Good to see AP back in the Studio recording songs - I miss the 'Project'

  • Alan must dye his hair.

  • @CSavageSr i thought he did in live appearences ive seen on youtube.

  • We all know that Alan is not a headlining singer. P.J. Rocks. But, we all love Alan endlessly.

  • he's not a singer, he should have engage a real one

  • I like this song. To me, Alan has always been the master of sound as well as taste. He may be a technical wizard, but his unfailing musicianship is what makes the songs he has recorded and/or composed such a delight for my ears. And, I was completely taken by P.J. Olson; I find it impossible to resist the emotion in his singing!

  • the drumming piece reminds me of the alan parsons track turn it up off the try anything once album

  • isnt that simon philips on drums ex mike oldfield drummer

  • I love the drumwork!

  • Thank you Alan!!! I love you!!!

  • Thanks for this dear Alan ! ;-)

  • Great video... I love to see all the work around a new sound... Love it... Really like this new song... All the best from France

  • Veramente bella.

  • Awesome! Certainly has the same feel as a lot of the music on Try Anything Once. Very well done!

  • Magnifico, grande, grande, grande, ALAN PARSONS

  • Great official videoclip, showing the state-of-the-art technology involved.

For us fans it's interesting to see Alan in the studio, not only producing/engineering but also singing (for the 1st time in a videoclip).

Good that, even in days of distance recording through internet, Alan still records the basic band all at once.

We look forward to see the "making" of this song on Alan's "Art and Science of Sound and Recording" triple DVD set, for which the song has been originally produced.

  • That is Simon on drums, but who else is in the band? Who is that other singer on background vocals?

  • @YouTyme

    Lead vocals: Alan Parsons

Additional lead vocals: P. J. Olsson (A. Parsons)

Bass: Nathan East (E. Clapton, S. Wonder, P. Collins, J. Satriani, MJ)

Drums: Simon Phillips (Toto, The Who, M. Oldfield, J. Satriani, B. Eno)

El. guitar: Tim Pierce (Springsteen, Bon Jovi, MJ, Madonna)

Keyboards: Rami Jaffee (Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters)

There's also a person at computer, but I don't know his name and precise role.

  • @YouTyme the other singer is p.j . olsenwho performs live with alans live project
