How I wish I was there... Jonathan is my favorite writer. I read his every book with burning cheeks. I remember the first time I found his book in my sister's bag...After Silence... I sat next to the window and read until my room was lighted by the street light and words started to blend together...

I love his way of writing, the capability of capturing everyday gestures in the most magical way.

I was there at this reading with my wife. It was great to hear Carroll's story (really, the opening chapter of his most recent novel, Glass Soup) read in his own voice, which was much more New York than I expected after his stay in California and his long residence in Vienna.
