Für das Geld, was ein BMW kostet, würde ich mir lieber nen Calibra oder nen Corrado aufbaun. Denn es ist doch langweilig, irgend jemanden mit hilfe eines BMWs zu verheitzen. Geiler wirds doch erst, wenn man so ne alte Kiste mit Style (calibra, corrado, etc.) fährt, und dann einen dicken BMW verheizt. :-)

We checked the Alfa 90 on the dyno too, it showed 181 HP instead of 156, there you can see that there is huge difference between Paper HP and the Hp of a well "driven in" engine, but why is the Golf not able to realize same good acceleration times as an Alfa or BMW with less HP?!? Cat understand this. (All those cars had stock size tires)

Just take an Alfa Romeo 90 2,5 how can it be that such a simple V6 12 Valve can go in reality from 0-100 in less than 7,3 seconds and the Vr6 with 2,8 litres and more Hp on Paper needs 7,8-8,0 Seconds?? Cant be, but that was the truth and the Street was not wet and the Golf even showed 195 HP on the rolling road in stock codition, where are those 195 HP if an Alfa with nominally 156 HP is that much faster?!?!?!

Yes I had A Nice 1rsthand Golf 3 VR6 2,8 from 1992 (first series 174HP) for more than 5 years in this time I had more than enough time to compare the Vr6 with Alfa Romeao 90 2,5, Alfa 75 3,0, Fiat 130 3,2 Abarth and BMW 3,0 Si and BMW 325i and Jaguar XJS V12 HE and BMW 850 Ci V12 and Porsche 911 SC and Fiat Ritmo 130 TC Abarth... Any of these vintage cars goes better 0-100 than the VR6 (stock) and can rev better.

VR6 12 valve engines 2,8 and 2,9 lack torque, race and pace...a stock BMW 325i from 1993 is still much faster in acceleration and top speed than a slightly tuned VR6 with hot cams and chip. Vr6 is even not able to overtake an Alfa 90 2,5 V6 ;)

Body style is damn near timeless. People not familiar with Corrados think it is a much more recent model car. As for the engine, he as well as others more than likely rebuild them better than new or put newer engines like the R32 and 1.8t 20v in Corrados and other earlier model VWs, not to mention all wheel drive systems.
