If you go over the lyrics, they're pretty bleak, and especially the end. Then look at the translation of Sagisu's original lyrics and see that they're even more depressing.

Its really kind of sad, the only people who even know about this great song are those who own the OST or those who look hard enough.

I wish it'd found its way into the movie, but I much prefer Komm susser tod for the job.

That seems to be a theme in Neon Genesis Evangelion's soundtrack. The most memorable pieces are either classical music played in scenes that don't fit the mood at all, or pieces that sound upbeat and cheerful until you listen to the lyrics.

It seems designed to make you feel like everything's okay until you look beneath the surface, and then it seems... less okay.

Improbable, Rebuild isn't a dumpyard for unused ideas, it's their shiny new project. They'll compose new Music... Also, Q and Final are going to diverge *radically* from everything that came before, the old song just wouldn't fit, as it's very specificly tailored to the events of EoE.

@zendoh9 She's a mysterious mystery... the only other trace of her was in three short covers of three songs from the Rocky Horror Show. Some people speculate that she's British 'cause it's rumored she does a few songs with this band named "Loren & Mash". Other then that, she's a ghost who's voice can only be heard.
