  • I got a video of one worst lol

  • You could hove gown another 100,000 miles on that roter

  • i would have taken the rotor in to an autoparts store and asked if they could turn it for me LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I seen worse.I did a rear brake job on Chevy S10 Blazer, the left rear caliper piston was acting like a brake pad eating the rotot right up.Ended up replacing the left rear caliper, rotor and brake pads.

  • That car could probably stop on the dime.

  • I'm not susprised just look at confdition of the remainder of the car.

  • I dunno, looks like it may still be good for a few thousand more miles, ahhaha.

    /..

  • Oh just turn the rotors and it will be fine it will all buff right out....... lol Holy shit!!!! Yeah that's by far the worst I have ever seen!!!

  • piece of shit LOL sorry if you own that car

  • You should put that in a museum.

  • That's amazing

  • Wow how the he'll it worked!?

  • What do you mean theres no inner ring its rite there in between the ribs,OH it dosent belong there.

  • Saw one once that had wore so bad it broke from the hub......fantastic!

  • holy crap that is tiny wheres the other part of it

  • my brother in law did this same thing how cam you not feel the thing

  • That's awesome... that is metal on metal braking force right there. lol!!!

The pad plate with the rotor veins.... !!!

The worst part is... I have seen a vehicle, that went just beyond this, when the rotors disc finally became separated from its mounting hat. Scary.... I imagine it made the loudest crash, and jammed into the caliper when it finally collapsed! lmao!!

  • You should frame that lol :D

  • That inner pad must look real nice

  • @BMAN294 ??what inner pad!! lol

  • hahaha wow

  • Holy shit

  • Just turn the rotor and you'll be good-to-go!

  • How can that happen? inner disc is about 3-4mm metal!

I want to know how it sounds if you brake this car :D And why the owner did not noticed that....

Frame it in this disc :-)

  • Wow....to think that you are sharing the road with cars like this...not to mention the kind of idiot who is behind the wheel of this car and doesn't realize something is wrong....impressive. Thank god for TUV in Germany :), this could never happen.

  • @Tifosi2003 ... The US needs those standards!

  • thats something to hang on the wall of ur shop cause you'll probly never see one that bad again, thats just insane, I'm kinda surprised how anyone could run that long on something that messed up cause rotors half that worn make one hell of a racket.

  • hahah damn, good that nobody died

  • for shure you never see a rotor like that....

  • how th ehell did this car pass inspection...

  • DAYUMM!!

  • Stage 1 weight reduction: remove half the brake rotor!

  • that`s a truly impressive bit of automotive neglect .

  • It always amazes me the stupidity of some people. As a tech, ive pulled more than one rotor off that was like this.

  • Yeah same thing happened to my car but it was the outside and it actually destroyed my caliper and tore the boot around the caliper causing me to loose all my fluid at once aka no brakes and it was during the winter so it wasn't very fun. when we went to replace it and took the rotor off it actually snapped in half because it was so thin

  • They are almost new, you can still do 5000 miles at least on them, xDD.

  • I've actually seen this in person. Some idiot brought a car over to my school (UTI) wanting a brake job. Brought some fresh disks/drums and pads/shoes. BOTH the front disks were worn on the inside to the fins and the rear drums were warped beyond belief! Should've been ready for it when I heard it enter the shop but...DAMN it was bad.

  • i seen one alomost ther not missing da whole thing hahaha funni

  • lol nice one, my mates nissan did the same thing, lots of noise and piss all braking, once we got it off we simply could not understand how the hell the car was even coming to a stop let only slowing down.

  • No inspections here in CA.... Lolx and damn that is the worst rotor that i have ever seen.

  • fourth time for me.

  • When the brakes were last done, something should of been noticed then. Also if this car was in a state where inspection are done, the shop should of failed it for being under the thickness.

  • i've seen worse atleast one side is there.

  • fuk me that is bad

  • why at night?

  • shh.... it`s neighbour `s car=)))

  • Owner should have licence tossed in trash with brakes!

  • Yes, that would be a first.

  • Yep, chances are someone turned down the rotor when doing a previous brake job, makes the rotor too thin, then add some hard driving and you get wear through like that.

  • i've seen one in just as bad of a shape, it came off my 94 acclaim, and was on the front passenger side... and i need to get new pads, and a new rotor, on the other hand the driver side was in perfect condition...

  • hahahahahahahahahahah jesus.

  • This is exactly what happened to my father-in-law's Jeep Cherokee. The caliper piston was a hair's breadth away from blowing out. He knew he needed new pads, but continued to drive it for a week.

  • Death and Damage will teach a Dumbass a lesson......

  • driver/owner should be taken the licence away because he´s not able to respobsibly drive and maintain a vehicle.. its 100% IMPOSSIBLE that he didnt notice A LONG TIME AGO sometings wrong with his brakes

  • wow...

  • amazing ...thats a REAL ventilated disc !

  • FFS :-0

  • how the crap did the owner do that to the carO_O?

  • holly hell fuck!!!! i never seen one like this. i seen them look like duck tape but never like this!! HOLLY HELL

  • HAHAHA the brake rotor wore all the way down to the cooling fins.

  • wow

  • and that's why you do routine inspections!!! I was letting a friend use my '86 truck and when she was over today I learned she hadn't even considered checking the oil. for over 8000 miles.

  • AHHHH!!! 8,000 miles!!???!?!?

  • Oh noes. 8000 miles. Big deal...

  • Well, big deal if it's conventional oil. But I've seen synthetics go 30,000 and still look OK. My friend once went 11,000 miles between oil changes with conventional oil, when I changed the oil for him, it smelled like dead fish and had a lumpy consistency like mud. It was so gross...

  • Oh, in that case... x_x

  • @LynolsOffice Still 30,000 miles on synthetic oil is not a good habit to maintain; if you have an all-aluminum engine chances are you'd have to replace the entire engine. My recommendation for synthetic is 6000 miles, 7000 at the most.

  • The synthetic I mention was some stuff by Amsoil, supposed to be able to go 30k between changes, although you have to change the filter at like 7k intervals. I thought it was BS, but I was surprised when I saw the oil come out at 30k. (I still aint doing that to my car though!)

  • @LynolsOffice I have an aluminum block with synthetic oil and I change every 3000 miles

  • @LynolsOffice

tell me, how do you change the filter without draining the oil first?

  • @lordbemylight I use Castrol full synthetic and I don't even bother to note the mileage, I just change the oil twice a year. My car has 257,000 miles on it and the engine runs like a horse.

  • i have seen a few like that and one worse b4 we moved i worked in a shop replacing brakes and i had one come in on a car dolly that didnt even have the metal backing left it only had the piston from the cal. rubbing the rotor untill it locked up working in a shop is fun you see all kinds of crazy stuff

  • girl shouldnt be allowed to drive

  • people like that should not be allowed to have a car.

  • I know. The girl who owns this car ended up seizing the engine because she never checked or changed the oil.

  • so he could actualld drive it like that lol

  • Yep my friend had a 92 sunfire same thing not quite as bad but close we kept the rotor to remind him what a dumb ass he is.

  • I hung this car's rotor on my wall in my shop, lol. Every time someone sees it, there like "whoa! what's that!?"

  • OMFG You wanna see bad tires? My brother has an 02' Ford Taurus 3.0 and the front right tire was soooo bad, it literally started bulging. Any more driving on that tire and most of the front end of the car would have been on the ground with sparks shooting out for 250 feet.

  • OMG. I din't think that was possible...

  • lol you should see my moms rotor from the rear of her Pontiac they haven't been replaced since she got the car used years ago they weren't doing anything bad untill a few weeks ago so we didn't want to spend 200+ on new brakes but we had too and one of the rear rotor is grooved rofl

  • Well, that's what happens when you neglect maintenance on a car. Scary stuff.

  • It would have been funny to take it to the auto store and ask them if they could turn the rotor

  • that rotor is a wall hanger

  • my suggestion, check the rest of the rotors, you never know, it might be as bad if not worse than this rotor

  • Ended up just being that one that was that bad, the caliper had got stuck. But since something like that gets done in pairs anyway, I did end up replacing the other one.

  • that is amazing

  • DAMN!!!

    (That's all I can say...)

  • i've seen em that bad. not much any worse but as bad.

  • Just Put Rotors On My Jeep Saturday And I Though Mine Were Bad, I guess Mine Still Had A 100,000 to go!

  • omg, thats unreal. I had one car that i drive with no lining on one of the pads, and it made some deep ass gouges in it. I drove it metal on metal for 3 weeks and it was nowhere near that kind of destruction.

  • just today i encountered the worst one i have ever seen...until this video. haha. im uploading a video of it right now, it wasnt double plied like this 1, but it was thinner than the shield behind it, check it out if you get a chance, it should be uploaded soon

  • not double plied, i wasnt thinking right, i meant vented....duh feel like an idiot now...

  • holy shit!

  • o my now that is bad.... it was neglected for too long. maybe they tried to save money by keeping the rotor for a while. oh well. nice vid!

  • I had a rotor completely shatter in a 1979 Mercedes once, but this rotor in your video is pretty intense!

  • O.M.G, jajajajaja

  • i got one like that on my murray tractor i think lol

  • like the one that was on my truck (87 dodge)

    when i got it

  • Interesting- I had never seen the inside of a rotor before.

  • wtf!

    never seen nothing that bad

  • I Never Saw A Brake Rotor In Such Awful Shape At All Even When I've Seen Brake Work Get Done On The Vehicles That We Use.

  • i've seen worse when both sides were gone on the rotors

  • WOW. So did the brake rotor completely disappear? (besides the hub area)

  • no the center cross members were still sticking up with out making any noise

  • if it was jammed wouldnt he have noticed the bright red glowing rotor when he got or his tire practically melting?!?! his gas mileage ought to be about 6 times better after you replace the rotor lol.

  • They told me it was always making terrible noises and smoked some. So yes, it was jammed, they did notice it but didn't think anything of it until they lost all brake pressure.

  • When i saw the rotor like that i figured that there was no brake pad at all but the piston itself was chewing threw it.

  • I have !! It was in High school it was a buick my teacher owned .We replaced both rotors , pads and calipers

  • Good Grief ! ! ! ! !

  • WOW lol didn't know that was possible. thanks for sharing

  • how the hell can you not noice that! WTF!

  • I've seen worse! The ribs were gone and from a vented rotor it was just 1 piece!

  • Holy shit!

  • One time in automechanics in high school the teacher handed out what 'looked' to be a drum brake- had the bering assembly in the middle ( like off the rear of a front drive car)- no one could figure out what was wrong- when i got it i was like " Theres no disc surface..." - the driver completely wore the ENTIRE disc surface off.

A guy i knew hated his car- the coolant and oil leaked badly when it sat- so i said "Put containers under the car and just dump it back in before starting it.."- he did.

  • Lol, once I saw a guy at a gas station pull up in a clunker, take a roasting pan out of his trunk and put it under his motor and when he was done pumping gas and paying, he popped the hood and took the pan and dumped it back in the motor!

  • LOL- y know that car is STILL probably running around.

That one guy- i told him to permently mount the pans under the car, get a couple small pumps and just have it automatically repump the stuff back into the engine- he was like "Are you crazy? That costs money...". Ends up his nephew borrowed the car and blew it up anyway when it ran out of coolant.

  • I think it's safe to say this guy got his money outof these rotors! Unbelievable! I've never seen anything like this either, Who would ever beleive.

  • Holy crap!

  • holy crap how many miles are on that car and did he spend all of them driving with his brakes slightly on?

  • 104k on the car, probably 30k on the front brakes. The damn caliper was jammed, who knows for how long. Apparently noises and burning smells meant nothing to them.

  • WOW!!!

Hey, keep it and hang it on your wall in the garage, what a conversation piece!

  • I think I'll put it on my coffee table, lol!

  • Was the driver deaf? With this one in such awful condition, what were the conditions of the others? Thanks for sharing.

  • The other front brake pads are low, but not yet hitting the indicator.

  • wow just wow

  • Oh yeah i have seen this before! It is really disturbing to find lol

  • You bet it's disturbing. Like the time I changed someones oil who left it in for 14,000 miles! Took me two hours to get the filter off. The oil looked like chunky wet dirt and smelled like rotten fish. I don't ever want to see that again.

  • That's probably one for the record for Youtube.

  • i know that to pass inspection where i live, your brake pads can not be any thinner then a dime! (which is insane!) :) lol that is fucking thin! i don't know rotor standards, but this one appears to be really worn! its amazing it could even stop the car! :) lol

  • I think the other three wheel's brakes were doing the stopping. Who knows how long this caliper had been stuck. Eventually the jammed caliper started leaking, thats when they asked for my help.

  • Good grief. I've seen bad rotors, but that one takes the cake. Most of the ones I see are thin, or gouged in rings, but how did they not know the rotor was destroyed? It's impossible to imagine the sound it must have made.

  • My dad wors on cars.. i've seen one that bad before. :P

  • He should take it to Just Brakes and ask for a 4wheel friction relign for $99!!

    That rotor is toasted!

  • holy cow he still had some stopping power thats a shocker talk about being worn haha thats not that bad yeah right take the wheel and your friend says its harder to stop tellem to check the brakes doesnt know how he brings it to your house your amazed were the rotor isnt there supposed to be one your puzzled you find little bits of it and hide it in a bag put it on his porch for a christmas present and he wonders were it came from his car lol thats wear lol great vid thats the worst ill see :)

  • lmao.. how could it pass inspection?

  • you should hang that on your wall...

  • Holly shit! That is the worst I have ever seen! I would hate to be going down a icy steep hill with that thing! YIKES!!! Thanks for sharing

    Peace :)

  • HOLY CRAP

  • Sometimes state inspection laws are FTW! That is pretty impressive!

  • Lol, yeah, that's why they asked me to fix it, it's been sitting broken for weeks, but now the car is due for inspection!

  • lol, yea, NJ STate inspection can be a pain at times...especially if you don't pass!

  • I have a 1996 Dodge Dakota with a bad muffler, bad catalytic converter, and passenger side door that doesn't open. I failed, but only because there was duct tape holding a piece of plexiglass in place on the rear window! Got to love NJ state inspections!

  • I've Seen this Before, it happened on a 1998 Blazer, except it happened on the Left Rear. Nothing Left on the Rear side of the Disc.

  • now thats one hell of a driver
