Under Guevara's orders while in charge of La Cabana prison, interrogations (read that "tortures and beatings") and firing squad executions without trials took place daily, often televised.
First of all he set a tribunal to put these people on trial. And they were War Criminals and Informants, and really think the people were the ones that helped the Guerilla army come to power. They supported the overthrow of Batista, and the supported the tribunal and executation of the war criminals. If they weren't executed the Cuban people would take their on justice on them and execute them.

I'm speaking specifically of the slaughter of defenseless prisoners, a very large number of them non-military, who were classified as counter-revolutionaries. Under Guevara's orders while in charge of La Cabana prison, interrogations (read that "tortures and beatings") and firing squad executions without trials took place daily, often televised.

They supported the overthrow of Batista, and the supported the tribunal and executation of the war criminals. He is a legend all around the world and an inspiration for millions. Each time I go to his grave in Santa Clara, Cuba - I meet hundreds of people from every nation who have travelled there to pay respect to such a heroic man. EL CHE VIVE <3

Yes, Che did (wrongly) admire Stalin at one point...but you need to take that in the context of Che living a time when the Monroe Doctrine was raping Latin America and causing millions to die of hunger....the USA V's USSR was NOT the good v evil fight you think it was..especially for Latin Americans...or South East Asians... Stalin was monster but he was on the money when it came to the US's imperial designs on the world.

You need to take off the blinkers put on your eyes by US imperialism. Che is still celebrated because he played a major role in getting rid of the US gangsters that were bleeding the Cuban people dry. After the revolution those accused of crimes against the interests of ordinary peole got fair trials. A bit different to the US (who many in the world have seen as the real terriorists in the late 20th and 21st centuries) in Guantanamo.

Are you aware of what kind of oppression people live under in Cuba? And in what state of poverty? They are not even allowed to buy toasters or computers or cellphones! Besides, only the political elite can afford such luxuries the rest of us take for granted. People in Cuba can't even get access to the Internet.

If you think they things you quote are more important than universal education and health care, then I think you need to examine your priorities in life. BTW, one of the biggest reasons Cubans have no access to consumer goods is the illegal blockade of the island by the US.
