not "worthless" just dipoles with no bass. never heard of planars, electrostatics or surround sound dipoles?

backwave cancellation mostly just affects bass. the system WOULD plays louder & deeper with boxes for the front speakers though. it would also improve stereo imaging as dipoles are harder to localize. that's why many surround speakers are dipoles even if they use twice the number of speakers they need to because no one wants to see the back of a speaker or buy one that's an "empty box"
