Hey, Carlos Gavito's dead since 2005. If you want more of his material, I recommend watching his shows from the late 80's and the 90's, when he was at his best. Proof of it is the "A Evaristo Carriego" show with Marcela Durán (not MarSela, as spelled on the video) uploaded by magnolia2006. Enjoy.

You have a point that there is a kitsch aspect to it. I think it would be much better without it. HOWEVER, you must admit that through the kitsch shines a certain brilliance. It fits Pugliese I think. Gavito was a showman, true. But he was also a great milonguero. We should try to see the good aspects too and take what we can from him. Gavito was not a milonguero, he was a jazz dancer, a stage dancer for many years, Gavito started to attend milongas in BA 10 years ago, go to Sunderlan and ask the old people-who have danced tango for the last 40 years- where was Gavito 20 years ago?

Yeah 20 years ago when Copes was making a disaster of tango. Try going back before that buddy when Gavito did dance--when the real dancers danced. Gavito did tour for a while true, but where do you think he learned? In a jazz studio in Paris or something. Come on! Dont talk about things you have no idea about.
