i installed a asson and when i try to play youtube it says "A application/x-shockwave-flash decoder plugin is required to play this stream, but not installed."

what can i do to play youtube videos on my ps3 linux 6.2

i push 'install' and it opens a new window saying "Completing the Plugin Finder Service

Ok never mind. I re-installed YDL 6.1 and now its working just fine. No Joke. Ok this is for guys who can't get it to work. i tried this method and it worked for me.

1. Install Vlc

2. Install Adobe Flash Player

3. Then do that the description says.

That worked for me. And it was not hard at all. I was a little nervous that it would not work but it did lol.

I have the problem with the totem mozplugin... whenwever I try install in root as yum, I get the message in the terminal that it cannot open/read the file in fedora-extras (orsomething like that)

can someone help me wityh this... Noone seems to acknowledge this problem at yellow-board

OK when i get to 4:00 that same thing keeps poping up (its that thing about "only install from authors you trust." & it wont install greasemonkey. I keep on clicking on install anyway and the same stupid thing keeps coming up. Is this bcus i might have an improper firefox plugin installer. HELP

I was having the same problem everyone else had after following all his steps first of coarse. so i decided after following all of his steps that i would First i install the : yum install mozilla-vlc then the: yum install *gstreamer* ffmpeg and vuala it worked.

it says totem cannot play fd:\\0 you do not have the decoder installed to handle this file you might need to install necessary plugins.....plz wut exaclty do i do and can u watch youtube in HD?

why dont you just go on the ps3's web browser and go to youtube? works fine???

Visit yellowdog-board for more information and a guide to setting up mplayer mplayer plugin as well as vlc and mozilla vlc plugin.

Or open a terminal and type the following!

yum install *gstreamer* ffmpeg

and then totem will work :)

Ok open up the terminal and run the commands below!

Add vlc to the yum install if you have not already installed vlc.

Code: Select all

su

enter root password

yum install vlc mozilla-vlc

After that go to your greasemonkey user scripts and disable the youtotem user script. You do not need to disable the totem add ons just the youtotem user script.

thanks for this video. i was having trouble with installing gstreamer because i was looking at a guide online and it said to type it exactly like this: yum install gstreamer. that wasn't working so i typed it exactly how you have in the info and now it's downloading. appreciate it!
