GMA x4500 is for desktops

GMA 4500 is for laptops/netbooks

GMA 4500mHD however is for laptops/netbooks but they are even faster than 4500 and it's available in more than 512mb of shared memory size (a 2GB version of it is available)

@lashatotladze it's not really that worse... Those are designed to have a good graphics and capabilities to play HD Videos at the lowest price. Since all mobo (except the one with extreme chipsets like the P series) does really have onboard graphics.

@lashatotladze sorry for the late reply. Buy a new power supply (500w is enough to run a great graphics card) and a new graphics card. I suggest you to get NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 because it's fast, powerful, and cheap. If you have more cash, consider buying a GTX card but GTS is fine. Before buying, check if your motherboard has PCI-E slots. If that's a yes, you are ready to put that graphics card!

@TechKidPH um wrong if your monitor supports only 60hz your only going to be displaying 60 fps max. even if the fps shows over 60fps in game

@PsiloCybinDreamX That's not true. I'll use an example. You're using a computer with a quad core processor and 4 gb of ram to play Diablo II. You're using a CRT monitor set at 60 Hz. If you see lines across the screen during certain motions and moves, that's called "tearing". That happens when the image on the screen is being displayed at a higher framerate than the refresh rate on your hardware allows.

@8ofspades8 if you wanna look at the vram size, right click your desktop then click screen resolution (if you are running windows 7) then click advanced settings. Then a window will popup. Take a look at the total graphics memory... That's your VRAM... The more the better :D

When i open the Intel GMA driver for mobile it comes up with a different version which doesn't have these options and i've been looking everywhere and can't find a download for a newer version. Do you know where i could download?

@Soadrock132 I believe you have a different video card... Intel hasn't made any update for those video cards... only newer video cards gets the update via windows update... try to go to intel's website then find drivers for your intel GMA

@TechKidPH I could finf the right download it just said there was an error but i managed to get it to work by rolling back my current drivers and then downloading the new drivers.

@4131025 sure it is but if you set it to performance, your PC's score will be degraded(rare case).... just set it to performance if you want more framerate in games then put it back to quality if you are done playing :D
