Expect a busted CV Joint or stripped threads on one of the drive axles soon LOL.. Those stocks don't hold up to well when you launch off the rev limiter :D
@AK47PERFORMANCE Oh god you sound just like my buddy Tom. He has a 1997 F350 crew cab non-dually. He just got it dyno'd at 723hp and 1137ft-lbs torque. He always wants to race my MS3.
@AK47PERFORMANCE idk how you got 5.5.... im using a stopwatch from when you dumped the clutch and it times to at least 6.3. not to mention you were slighty rolling when you started which is not accurate
You do not launch these cars at high rpms and burn the tires as you start. This car is best launched at 3200rpms and ease in the clutch a bit faster, do not dump it. You dont spin the tires, have maximum traction during launch and its a over a full second faster. I do alot of autocrossing with my 08 si and alot of track racing. I have over ten years experience racing as a pro. Read up on it man. Do not kill that nice car with childish tactics.
sorry im noob but how do you really launch?? rev on Neutral and switch it to 1st after its about 5.5k rpm?? Also, does this have a bad effect on the engine/tranny?!
Everyone's missing the most important part that allows him a good launch....traction. I'm guessing the tires aren't the factory equipped ones. They're probably some high performance summers, Azenis perhaps. Throw some slicks and make another video to impress people with your 5.0 sec. 0-60.
@DroiDxFanboyx Yeah it is, but it also depends on the drivers racing too. That probably plays a bigger factor in a race. Especially if you get some kid that has no idea what hes doing. It all depends
wow bunch of idiots....its like a govenor that honda equiped in the newer 8th gen SI's its like a sunfire of certain gen's u can only rev them up to 4000rpms when not moving! the civics are the same way! prtection feature and convieniant launch control! ...ps i own a 08 civic si so i WOULD know
i have a 2000 civic b16a jadm sec gen and i have done the 6 sec 0-60 without reving past 4000. people try to launch them like drag cars but civics are lighter and the real trick is coming off the clutch perfectly so when you floor it it responds instead of searching and trying to catch up
Just stop, dude. If you went to his channel instead of writing out this barely intelligible comment you would have seen the video of him doing 13.7 @ 99.
@KoukiMS6.. I live in MD I ran at Crapitol raceway haven't ran at budds creek in this car yet but I too have never seen any Si's break 14's with mods besides me I ran a 14.7@99 back in June bone stock 4 door, with shit in the trunk 1.9 60'. His launch is identical to mine, yet I see alot of people bogging dropping out of vtec cause they can't feather a throttle or release a clutch work shit. People can't drive.. I would love to drive AK's car and see if I can reproduce the times
@pushinlsteg31 Oh, nice 60ft. My cars doing 5.27sec 0-60 with a 1.996 60ft. But I am glad you smell something fishy too. 3 mods, not nitrous and no tune described running my times are very fishy. And MIR is hard, for some reason drop 2-3 tenths immediately at Capitol Raceway. I have intercooler, intake and stage 1 cobb AP, by next season i'll be fully bolted, running low 13's. Do you ever come to the BLVD?
your redlining every gear then you wonder why at 150,000 miles your engine burns oil i hope you dont get piston slap or worse failed main bearing those parts take the hit with that shit
@AK47PERFORMANCE i'm not doubting the times, but pop the hood! lol.
and @srt4slow. unless AK is getting paid by honda, there's really no reason for him to say "Proof that these cars are heavily underrated from the factory". if he said "my N/A products will make you run 13s" then it'd be a different story.
This year did not have VSA. I would run with it off when trying to get a good launch. The trick is just the right combo of clutch slip and wheel spin. With a stock ECU you want to keep the RPM around 6k (vtec activates at 5800) and you want to slip the clutch just enough so that the tires don't break loose. These cars are hard to drive correctly but when you hit that sweet spot it works great!
I race at MIR Budds Creek and I have NEVER seen an Si out of 15s even with mods, so your car is a freak or the driver is a monster and needs to be competing agains Sebastien Loeb and the like.
As I have said, my MS6 runs similar times with est. 250awhp and I have raced Si with more mods than this and none have caused me any problem, so it's only logical for me to suspect there to be more here than described.
I am not sure if it comes as stock, but I have never seen it used before. Also, I have seen I/h/e/k-pro protubed cars not run your times; so, if you seriously bolted on 3 minor mods with no tune, no jungle juice, or anything else you have a factory freak! If this were a Speed3, or Cobalt SS with a turbo, this would be more fathomable. Not to be negative, but I don't think you could plop these on any FA5 and replicate the results again and again. But great job though!
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the car, but the numbers are very inflated. 6-6.5 is still quick but 5.5 is way over zealous, those are 335i times.
@AK47PERFORMANCE You have a 1/1,000,000 Si. I have raced 3 bolt-on Si's and there was no competition and that was from a roll.
Maybe with bolt-ons and a nasty tune it maybe possible, and race gas. But I don't think this is 3 bolt-ons only without tuning or race gas. This car makes 210whp at most, unless there is more to this car than you are disclosing.
I have seen MS6's run 13.5 and HR Z's do 13.1 stock, but would I say I own a 13.5 sec car, nope cause that ish is super-rare! You have a freak
The fact that you have launch control says to me that there is more to this car than described, kind of deceptive not to post that. I'm sure this car is tuned to the gills, no wonder it's so fast.
@AK47PERFORMANCE this goes to that KoukiMS6 guy aswell as you. That is not "launch control" you faggets. that's your low speed rev limiter. every civic from 2006 and up, every model, automatic and standard, has that feature. it's to keep you from floating your valves for the people who love just sitting there and revving their cars. if youre in park or in neutral at less than 10 km/h this feature is activated. It's not launch control retards, it's noob control for people like you.
@BabyHueyDyson the 5500 RPM limit is launch control because it only kicks in when the car is at 0 MPH. The rev limiter is at 8200 which after hitting for to long will cut off the fuel.
You don't have to tell me about what this thing will do. I consider myself a damn good driver, and I kept getting results like this with an '07 sedan packing injen CAI. My 0-60 was roughly the same too. I hit 5.4s.
@wilaxpro7 You're bouncing off the limiter, and redlining? Thats the same dumb ass. And your speedo says 40-ish mph (I'm not used to mph 'cuz all my cars come from japan) when you're really going at only about 20-ish mph on the ground. Think dumbass. Traction is everything.
The trick is to NOT bounce off the rev limiter and redline. Good lord, where do you people come from? Have you ever even pondered the concept of achieving a decent launch? Wheelspin is nothing to brag about. Let's see a video of that 13.9 buddy.
@AK47PERFORMANCE Hey have you seen the videos of corolla xrs's beating these si's? Not trolling or anything just wondering if they just didnt know how to drive or what... Cuz your si looks like it would beat the xrs
@AK47PERFORMANCE Lol seriously. If it was a great launch i would be hearing all that tire spin. These car's are severely under rated though. I test drove one the other day and scared the dealer! I was just having fun : D
Man that car is beast. I doubt you are getting that kind of performance from those few mods though. An SRI won't do shit for gains and the exhaust might net you 10hps. Maybe. The TBS no clue. I wouldn't mind slapping those parts on my 2011 though if those gains are legit, which I doubt.
@V12Carlucci so amateur to say that lol. Yes you do put stress on the clutch. You dont buy these cars to really worry abou that. But thats ok, your interest isn't driving like a maniac like me. I dont think he stressed the clutch that much. Its not he'll do this often anyway. If you engage smoothly the clutch will last anyway.
@tkdman360 Not really, it just gives the car better throttle response. But the Intake manifold is where you can gain the most power. Its well restricted from the factory.
@tjman36 Your statement was COMPLETELY irrelevant to what i was trying to imply. I NEVER stated anything about the rbc being a worthless manifold. It is a GREAT manifold (I have one on my wife's civic). I was answering a question relating to the Throttle Body Spacer which, in terms of power, isn't that great. The STOCK manifold is very well restricted, and you can see excellent numbers just from upgrading. Not hating on and specific bolt on. COMPREHEND before making false accusations..."Retard".
@LoveTheCity123 Lol, your father doesn't have a Mercedes Benz. He has a fucking Volkswagen Beetle. He also doesnt have an R8 nor a BMW, nor a $58 million yacht you said in your other comments.
The trick is to hit the launch limiter at about half throttle. Then once the car starts moving you have to find the right spot to floor it. It depends on the tires, the road conditions, etc. If you full throttle too soon the tires will spin too much and the time will suck and if you do it too late the car will bog. The idea is to have the perfect amount of wheelspin.
Show me another naturally aspirated 4 cylinder that runs traps 100mph in full street trim on stock tires. They aren't very common. Granted, it isn't fast compared to Vette or Skyline GTR.
thats not slow @catdaddy952001 what are you talking about its a honda civic there like affordable kind of fast cars. so having it do 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds is good. i dont even own one im just saying that is fast i drive a 2001 f150 with a 5.4 and its about a second slower on 0-60 good job ak47

I run a 1.996 60ft. and 0-60 in 5.569 and this car isn't even close to those times. Just count from the video; 6 sec. at the very least!
KoukiMS6 7 months ago
5.5 seconds? Nope, more like 6.5.
koukicrisp 7 months ago
@koukicrisp If that's so terrible then go do 5.5 yourself, and quit bitching.

@CrimsonBean93 i hav tha same question bro ?

That was actually a good launch!
sk8trdude85 8 months ago
i shift at about the same points never letting bounce off the rev limiter on my FA5. Good stuff
morningxsunset 8 months ago
in my 2000 si i get good launch at 3500rpm if i go to five i get to much wheel spin but good vid the new civics are pretty fast too
omgfroobynoobs 8 months ago
i got a time of low 6's, not to bad tho!
suckadeez5 9 months ago
You don't have to tell me about what this thing will do. I consider myself a damn good driver, and I kept getting results like this with an '07 sedan packing injen CAI. My 0-60 was roughly the same too. I hit 5.4s.

amazing, you just proved that you can't drive. Nice :)

@isabelmilagre ????? How in the world did he just prove he can't drive?? Please post a video showing yourself launching as well as this guy...
deathlord747 8 months ago
Good launch. That's how I launch my fg2 and I haven't seen another near stock si touch my time at our local tracks
jermee1 9 months ago
i tryed to do it like that nd i always falloff vteccc on 2nd gear ? what im i doinq wrong ??
MrOmiSI 10 months ago
@wilaxpro7 You're bouncing off the limiter, and redlining? Thats the same dumb ass. And your speedo says 40-ish mph (I'm not used to mph 'cuz all my cars come from japan) when you're really going at only about 20-ish mph on the ground. Think dumbass. Traction is everything.
09204418448 10 months ago
@wilaxpro7
The trick is to NOT bounce off the rev limiter and redline. Good lord, where do you people come from? Have you ever even pondered the concept of achieving a decent launch? Wheelspin is nothing to brag about. Let's see a video of that 13.9 buddy.

@AK47PERFORMANCE they come from under bridges!
nugunooch 10 months ago
@AK47PERFORMANCE Hey have you seen the videos of corolla xrs's beating these si's? Not trolling or anything just wondering if they just didnt know how to drive or what... Cuz your si looks like it would beat the xrs

@AK47PERFORMANCE
These are the kids that give hondas a bad name. Thanks for being out there and showing people the real potential of these cars.
CasterTown 9 months ago
@AK47PERFORMANCE Lol seriously. If it was a great launch i would be hearing all that tire spin. These car's are severely under rated though. I test drove one the other day and scared the dealer! I was just having fun : D
Solumic 8 months ago
thats honeslty really fucking fast for 2.0L
beargrizzly123 11 months ago
that poor car! I feel sorry for it being abused by the jackass driver. The perfect example of why people shouldn't buy a used Si.
hutzman76 11 months ago
@hutzman76 you don't buy an si to drive it nicely, and no you should never buy an si or ANY sports car used, thats common sense.
nugunooch 10 months ago
@nugunooch please dont call a Civic a sports car...

@hutzman76 you dont think its intended for this? i mean you make a sports car and expect people to baby it?
gradxg 10 months ago
@gradxg no civic is a sports car...
18Caliber 1 month ago
Man that car is beast. I doubt you are getting that kind of performance from those few mods though. An SRI won't do shit for gains and the exhaust might net you 10hps. Maybe. The TBS no clue. I wouldn't mind slapping those parts on my 2011 though if those gains are legit, which I doubt.
escrotumus 11 months ago
i wouldnt buy this civic :p
fradet8 11 months ago
still 7.5 seconds lol.. slow shit ahha
StevenBTT 11 months ago
@V12Carlucci so amateur to say that lol. Yes you do put stress on the clutch. You dont buy these cars to really worry abou that. But thats ok, your interest isn't driving like a maniac like me. I dont think he stressed the clutch that much. Its not he'll do this often anyway. If you engage smoothly the clutch will last anyway.
mikeetown 1 year ago
6 sec I think it could be faster with a little less wheel spin. Was it stock
dooberproductions 1 year ago
what about if you have no wheel spin? will you get a better time?
mjeatsies 1 year ago
nice 6 secs
TheEuroperules 1 year ago
Your actually one of the few that doesn't redline it and hit the rev limiter at 8,500. I respect that.

does the Throttle Body Spacer make a difference on the Civic Si?
tkdman360 1 year ago
@tkdman360 Not really, it just gives the car better throttle response. But the Intake manifold is where you can gain the most power. Its well restricted from the factory.
JLDG4 1 year ago
@JLDG4 your a retard... rbc manifold on the k20z3 is one of the best flowing manifold for the k20... only one that better is prc which is the itr
tjman36 10 months ago
@tjman36 Your statement was COMPLETELY irrelevant to what i was trying to imply. I NEVER stated anything about the rbc being a worthless manifold. It is a GREAT manifold (I have one on my wife's civic). I was answering a question relating to the Throttle Body Spacer which, in terms of power, isn't that great. The STOCK manifold is very well restricted, and you can see excellent numbers just from upgrading. Not hating on and specific bolt on. COMPREHEND before making false accusations..."Retard".

@tkdman360 Oh and racing headers would probably be your best investment....Just my .02 cents

PlzDuntBanMe 1 year ago
So are you just hitting the rev limiter than dropping the clutch?
gunzkevin 1 year ago
@gunzkevin
AK47PERFORMANCE 1 year ago
Yea the car ran a 13.7 @ 100 mph so thats definitely not slow.
AK47PERFORMANCE 1 year ago 2
@AK47PERFORMANCE
13.7? Really...Not slow? Depends on what were comparing it to.
Extofy 1 year ago
@Extofy
Show me another naturally aspirated 4 cylinder that runs traps 100mph in full street trim on stock tires. They aren't very common. Granted, it isn't fast compared to Vette or Skyline GTR.
AK47PERFORMANCE 1 year ago
@AK47PERFORMANCE 13.7 @ 100mph in the 1/8th mile....
theres no way u ran that in the quater with those puny mods....have to be the worst lier on youtube...
