@painsey Sorry wales, and im not nearly a martial arts expert, but martial doesn't work the way are mugger or rapist fights, they get close and tackle you or get you to the ground using there weight, making kicks and alot of punches rather usless, also with adrenaline running you can think properly making complex moves sloppy or panicked. the best way to deal with that situation, is quick simple movements aiming at vital spots like the throat and if necassery the nuts.

@painsey A hard punch to the throat will trigger a gag reflex which gives you about 2 seconds to follow that up with a punch just under the ribs hitting the solar plexis, leaving them breathless, by then you can move around them and put them in a sleeper hold or choke hold, further more you could use an arm lock and put them on the ground, then you simply call the police, or restrain or inhibit the suspect from attacking.

@painsey I never said its valient not to use a weapon, in fact if I was in a fight I would use everything to my advantage, wether that be using a weapon, jabbing at the eyes, or back stabbing, but then again a tazer will only put someone down for 10 seconds, mace would work better but if there already got a hold of and a knife at your throat taking out there eye sight won''t stop them from moving that knife and cutting your neck open

Most stun guns work best when the attackers muscles are tense in motion against you. Such as the Taser inc EMD weapons.
When you sit in a chair and Taser yourself its alot different, try having a friend stun you while doing a push up... Instant knock down just might want to put pillow under face... ha..
