Just in case there are actually any sincere anti-AB1634 folks here let me tell you that you are being duped. There are NO good enough reasons to oppose they spay/neuter bills because NOTHING else will work. The people who oppose are all in a position to either make money or practice a hobby they love at the expense of innocent strays. Bottom line: For every pet you breed or buy, one will die in a shelter.

Spaying can prevent mammary tumours and pyometra in predisposed breeds, but it can also cause urinary incontinence, hypothyroidism and aggression. Besides, a bitch in heat must be kept on a leash at all times and under supervision, anyone who doesn't know that shouldn't have a dog in the first place. This spay-and-neuter hysteria is no replacement for owner responsibility.
Great video! In addition to the points noted, the passage of AB 1634 would be extremely expensive for the state. Dog shows bring in millions of dollars in revenue every year in the form of tourism dollars and taxes. These shows will be eliminated because no exhibitor will risk losing his intact champion show dog to an anti-pet activist with a cell phone and Animal Control on speed dial. Don't forget, these three complaints, bogus or not, can all occur on the same day.

In the sense that the guy who breeds pets some of whom go to homes that could have provided homes for strays who are then killed, or in the sense of the guy who can't find homes for all of the litter or doesn't really track the fate of the whole litter. The ironic thing about this new AB 1634 is that it can essentially rip this Saluki out of a loving home if someone filed a bogus complaint which may be found to be false. If this Saluki with 6 to 8 thousand years of breeding behind it was discovered by the investigating A control to not have been sterilized it receives a citation and 3 strikes and it would be sterilized by the government.
Is there any wonder breeders are upset? Senators, please vote no.

So-called "humane" groups who support this badly written and badly worded law are just wrong. Please support reputable pet guardians and breeders by urging your government represetatives to vote NO on AB 1634.
