While Walt Disney wasn't the nicest person in the world, he was an excellent animator, and a lot of the world's top animators, like Don Bluth and Tim Burton, and Pixar, used to work for Disney. (Pixar even returned to Disney, and some of Mr. Burton's films are distributed by Disney.)

Now with the wide use of CGI and Pop singers, Disney has forsook good story-telling and great animation. The place were Disney still keeps it's class, is in a couple of its movies and its theme park.

If you search film frame rate or something similar on Wikipedia you should get a much better idea about it.
