Gotta love the Fender mandolin. There weren't a lot made and one in playable condition must have cost a ton. Unless he had a luthier build him replicas or somehow convinced Fender to build him new ones he's beating the hell out of some world class collectors items on stage. Which is exactly as it should be.

Oh yeah- and don't get me wrong, my point was that I'm glad it's his instead of some asshole stock broker who bought it as an "investment". They were made between '56 and '76 but in very limited quantities. Apparently not many people went for the four string mando, especially with the incredibly nasty sound the "mandocaster" makes. Perfect for Bad Seeds stuff though.
