  • Fantastic! My all time favorite comedian. Theres something more sexy about this "homely" looking man to me, than any muscle bound good looking guy ever could be. As Jessica Rabbit so aptly stated about Roger, "He makes me laugh", and thats it, that and he's actually quite the intellectual at the same time. You have to have intelligence to have a sense of humor, and he's got it. Very sexy.

  • His whole life has been dedicated to find an answer to the meaning of life...if there is a meaning ...and what the world really is...

and to the quest of man and his lost situation without any real answers to anything in life.

And like so many others he then gives up and turns to love between people...

  • Going to a Woody Allen film for the first time in the 70's was a treat. A perfect first date if you like intelligent women.

  • Happy Birthday Woody Allen!!!!

  • What movie did he use this song in?

  • What's the movie at 1:35?

  • this is just beautifully done

  • it's simply magical how images like these, or any of the many unforgettable scenes from Woody's films, would pop up in my mind out of nothing now and then, and bring smile to my face

  • Whats the name of the song at the start of the video?

  • I've watched this so many times and still I love it.

  • simply magic - thanks

  • When you have a bad day, you take painkiller like Annie Hall, Sleeper, Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex But Were Afraid to Ask, Manhattan or Play It Again, Sam and you know, it's hurt better and life is much All(i)en funny.

  • This guy is such a genius, I so adore his mind.

  • I totally lurve this. I loaf it.

  • What program do you use to make these? I have over a thousand DVDs and I've trying to do something like this with the movies I own.

I have not looked through all your videos yet but, I would love to see and , I'm trying to make myself a tribute to 70's cinema. Thanks for the beautiful clips. It's plain to see you love movies. I love movies too and I love exploring different directors and county's films and classics and discussing them at length. Hoping when one day I can make short films.

  • when I saw my first Woody Allen movie, I hated how he was always jittery and nervous, but now I luff him (HA[I hate saying lol so I just say Ha]).

  • I love this man and these were probably his best years.

  • ah, the early, funny ones!!!!!

    hardy har har!

  • Manhattan is the gteatest

  • Woody Allen is God manifest as an American comedic master.

  • Really well edited video. It almost made me teary-eyed and nostalgic for the days of my youth when I first discovered Woody's work.

  • In the 80s he was hitting them out of the park. I mean, one right after the other.

  • Very well-made :) Love it!

  • What film is at 1:16

  • @sugarcane48 Sleeper

  • 1:18 he started the oakley trend!

  • this a great tribute... I love woody and this is great... wonderful job

  • what is the music to this film?

  • Watch a funny short film on Youtube, just type in 'Sarah Ryan Deluded' You will either like it or hate it.

  • Weat. I'm dead and they're talking about weat. LOL

  • does anyone know what film is at 40"?, he is wearing a buffoon disguise.

  • @marianaalvdelce ''All You Allways Wanted To Know About Sex, But..''

the part of king's cabotine that falled in love with queen : DDD

  • @JakeMansonNYC the adopted daugher of his ex is not "his" step daughter.

  • his personal life has absolutely fucking nothing to do with any of us or anything to do with his art

  • @SomaLFM exactly, even I wouldn't touch him in private live, still I LOVE his art. And finding him genius of thoughts don't need to consider his personal dirt or tidyness.

  • Woody Allen is a chump is you ask me, and even if you dont.

  • LOL! That wrong orgasm line is the best!

  • don't get me wrong, i love woody allen, and his movies. but let's be practical, you simply don't marry someone that you raise.

that being said, please please please make more of these amazing montages!

  • @brooklynbuglet Yeah, I agree, I'm not sure what I think of him as a person, but as a filmmaker he is just fantastic.

  • good job that was hilarious

  • He is cool.

  • i love woody allen! he's my favourite director, and diane keaton, she was sooo buetifule! (love & death my favourite :)

  • very nice!!

  • primx2...is preparing to sing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir...this evening...he will sing..."Onward Christian Soldiers"...and afterward he will buy his wife a gingham dress and a case of beer from the local Wal-Mart...

  • child rapist? he married an adult with education beyond 4 years of college. get your facts straight.

  • @piromx2 I hope he rapes your child someday.

  • *scene

  • Nice, nice, very nice. Should of eased in some Stardust (yeah i know, 1980-but it's got some great scenes and lines). And the "waking up" seen from Sleeper towards the end was a little more grotesque than it actually was in the movie.

  • I found a gem of collection at Price Club a while ago.

    - Bananas

    - EYAWTKASBWATA

    - Sleeper

    - Love and Death

    - Annie Hall

    - Interiors

    - Manhattan

    - Stardust Memories

    $39.99

  • beautiful

  • Was there a movie starring Woody and Walter Matthau were they got really drunk and high and started drawing cartoon indians on the wall and fighting them with imaginary bows and arrows that they'd drawn?...They trapped some of the indians in the blender and blended them up..Can anyone help me out?...

  • hahaha i love it!

  • Annie Hall and Manhattan are two of my all time favorites.

Just give me a whole DVD set of vintage Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese films and I'll stay glued to the TV set for a week.

  • Good mix :-D Woody is great!

  • What are the all movies used in this? I recognize annie hall, manhattan, sleeper, and everything you always wanted to know about sex....

  • Interiors, Love And Death, and Bananas. If there are anymore that I haven't mentioned (or you haven't mentioned) then I'm not sure, sorry, but I hope this helps. :)

  • you should do a 1980's one!

  • Annie Hall. Easily his best imo. I love play it again sam as well, and deconstructing harry is underrated.

one of the best film makers ever.

  • Christopher Walken ... enough said.

  • 1. Annie Hall

    2. Manhattan

    3. Melinda & Melinda

    4. Sweet & Lowdown

    5. Stardust Memories

  • 6. Bananas

    7. Sleeper

  • "Never had the wrong kind of orgasm. Even my worst one was right on the money." - Woody in "Manhattan" - classic!

  • I will leave a very unexpected comment. My fav of all favs is Annie Hall. (Odd, isn't it?) but Radio Era and Manhattann are on my list. Later there is also Matchpoint, that is nearly as good as Annie Hall (no, Annie Hell is the best).

  • wasn't play it again sam filmed in the 1970's?

  • this is only films he directed

  • I think my favorite Allen film is "Zelig," but I think that was made in the 80's...

  • its amazing bnecause yousee all these commericial success movies with huge budgets and box office numbers but we've lost the quality of a good movie the reason woody allen is so timeless is because he films real life all these movies that involve romance are very dramatic and black and white but woody allen puts things in a different perspective it can be complicated but it doesnt always end with a happy ending everyone knows the number one cause of marriage is divorce

  • All are great apart from Interiors which is execrable. However is best fim came a few years later...Stardust Memories.

  • My favourite's Sleeper and then Annie Hall

  • Very good sample of Woody movies from th 1970's

  • whats the first piece of music?

  • 2.20: A wonderful scene: especially the cut to the driving car afterwards ( only in movie)

  • Annie Hall is my favourite one!! I love this...

I love woody Allen... thoose were the best movie years...

  • very fine job, amigo

  • You've done a brilliant job. Great segments. Reminds me that it was Woody who said, "I keep wondering if there's an afterlife, and if there is, will they be able to break a twenty?"

  • This tribute is a real tribute to you too!

  • Manhattan is my favorite movie.

  • An awesome tribute, gets better every time I watch it.

  • You're well thought of Woody.

  • awesome awesome video. I've seen every one of woody allen's feature films. It only took forever.

  • Woody is brilliant!

Very nice vid job too. In fact, I favorited it.

  • Brilliant! Thanks for sharing.

  • I feel compelled to comment that: this editing rocks ;)

  • 2:45 - a real "I'll get my coat" moment! LOL

  • No doubt about it, the early '70s was Allen's golden period.

  • genius

  • Very nice compilation with nice editing and loving soundtrack.

  • @cbraslow Whats the first song that played, if you'll excuse my ignorance.

  • 4:00 is so hilarious.

  • Fantastic

  • That was rockin'!!

  • Beatiful, nicely done.

  • 2:16 Christopher Walken defines his career.

  • Be wary of those who look into oncoming headlights. Arguably, though I decline to argue, Woody's best decade of filmmaking. A wonderful compilation that brought me many chuckles and guffaws.

    Thank you.

  • He makes me smile.A man of many talents.Thanks.

  • What a fabulous compilation! barringer 82, thank you so much!

  • Great stuff Martin! Shame about his later films.

  • he's a genius, prolific genius

  • Hey Woody! Why don't you use Diane anymore? Did you see "Something's Gotta Give?" She's doing her best work.

  • Exelente !;gracias,desde argentina.

  • is the background music from "sleeper" with him sitting in on clarinet with the preservation hall jazz band from new orleans?

i saw him play with his own jazz group at a bar called "michael's" in nyc...one of the musicians was a narc in his "real life" job...

  • I don't doubt that he's playing on it

  • do you know if there was any improv in these movies or were all the jokes and gags premeditated?

  • I'm pretty sure Woody wrote every word and directed every vocal inflection.

  • Love and Death is one of the funniest movies ever made. There - I said it.

  • Great compilation!

    :D

  • Great video. Thank you

  • can you say me the name of the films ???

  • Sleeper, Manhattan, Love and Death, Bananas there's more

  • 1. Bananas (1971)

    2. Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex, But Were Afraid to Ask) (1972)

    3. Sleeper (1973)

    4. Love and death (1975)

    5. Annie Hall (1977)

    6. Interiors (1978)

    7. Manhattan (1979)

  • Are you gonna do any tributes for the 80s or 90s?

  • WTF are you doing...?

  • Hello folks, got just one question. What is the song named which starts at min 0:22 when text "The films of Woody Allen" begins? It sounds very good.

  • Xapavlos: I don't know, but I assume it's from one of these movies. barringer only use music from the films included.

  • @Xapavlos Yes, I'd like to know as well. You ever find out?

  • what's the name of the film when Woody shoot by the gun???

  • "Love and Death"

  • love and death

  • great montage, but what about his film "the front"?.

  • see description

  • bullett: I assume this is only movies directed by Allen. He just starred in The Front.

  • ah, of course, thanks man.

  • bullett: No problem. I'm a bit of an Allen 'newbie', so I wonder if I could ask for any films you'd recommend?

  • well i kinda am too, but my choice would be Manhattan, Annie hall, the front, and everything you wanted to know about sex, and basically everything hes made, apart from bananas, and the great majority of his latest movies but thats my personal opinion, and please dont take it to seriously, haha.

  • bullett: If I took anything TOO seriously, I don't think I'd be on YT.

  • hahaha, very true my man.

  • Almighty: So basically you're stalking me by going through my favorites?

Also I NEVER said Hillary would be the next President, I hated her. And I voted for Obama :P

  • It's a wonderful montage. His movies during the 70's were so good. His latest one's aren't bad but they aren't as great as these were.

  • this is beautiful man, really beautiful, thankkk youuuuu

  • a WONDERful montAGE! Thanx :)

  • Thank you so much for making this. Long live Woody Allen!

  • great montage- i I remember every one of those clips

  • Bravo! Loved every second of it!

    Cheers

  • awesome montage

  • well done

  • Do one on the 90's. It was a great period for him as well.

  • Wooow, is just great! Is not just the humor is the art of woody.

    Thanks!

  • Great great great work, congratulations, you made my day

  • Awesome montage. Beautifully edited. Woody Allen is the man!

  • Absolutely wonderful, thanks!!

  • excellent work covering Woody's golden years! keep up the great "director's" videos

  • are you the moral police? telling everybody what is right and wrong? just wondering because I really NEED you to tell me how to live!

  • Please do not get me wrong but I think we should distinguish what is moral and what not. OK than if you do not want to be "moral police" than will you ever say the same thing for A. Hitler. According to his work he was great economist and artist too and in your words we should follow his example or Mengele's example as great research in human medicine.

  • Well ok, if Woody does not deserve to be publicized (and he's only ublicized as a film maker) in that note you don't deserve to be taken serious as a writer o r a moral preacher.

  • OK lets publicized Adolf Hitler. I think he was real talent in painting and I saw his work in aquarelle in Trieste Italy. Also lets mention Josef Mengele because his Astonishing work in the field of medicine is priceless. (I spoke ironically for those who are illiterate)

  • This is the sadness of this generation, you can't even tell the difference between private life and public actions. While Hitler's atrocity is worth condemning, Woody Allen's private life, as messed up as it may be, is none of your business.

  • If we all do the same thing that Woody A, Adolf H, Josef M. did the outcome to the world would be the same.

  • If we all acted like Mother Theresa and not have kids, the whole human race would go extinct in less than a hundred years. Therefore Mother Theresa was as bad as Hitler?

There are such things as personal choices in life. You don't have to agree with those choices, but you can't judge people's value to the public by them.

  • Ha ha ha Mother Teresa you got me there I must admit. We must judge the people because by judging them we prolong the moral values. Not doing anything and beeing pasive we giving green light to others to do the same thing. After all ignorance is the cause of WW2, Bosnia, Darfur and Rwanda.

    Thanks

  • Hahaha you're actually putting them all in the same level???? you're comparing the man who started WW2 with a man that divorced and re-married. Did you know that i skipped a lot of classes back in high school??? are you gonna say that just because i did something wrong like cutting class, my future work should never be publicited??? Good.Everybody put me in the same level as Hitler just because I skipped class. (i spoke ironically as well, for those who are illiterate)

  • WW2.....hmmmm.....it is questionable and it is long story who actually started the thing, starting somewhere after WW1 and new world order. Skipping classes, harming children and killing people is same to you (according to your comment)? Please, the message in my comment cannot be more clear. Well, we all are making mistakes but once your mistake goes out of reasonable proportion, than you are harming the world.....draw the conclusion by yourself and read more than what is served to you.

  • Where did you get that very strange name? It looks alittle familar lol lol. Xxmass

  • Actually Hitler was a really BAD painter and most of his peers at the time thought his work was really amateurish, as in people watching Bob Ross could whip out something better. Most people think he lacks composition skills. The only reason his work is even displayed is because he is infamous.

  • I found that comment hilarious because Allen's Jewish. Hahahaha....stfu.

  • Woody is a comedic genius but he can also capture the human spirit so perfectly and break your heart to hundreds of pieces

"sumtimes we all just need the eggs"

  • Oh, you're just brilliant goddamnit! Brilliant!

  • Sidney Barringer, you should be making your own movies. You are a superior editor for a start! Thanks for much for all of your videos:)

  • in my favs!

  • Really great, loved it!

  • Great tribute, I really enjoyed it. Woody Allen is the definition of a Manhatten jew.

  • Does anybody know the title of the song that Diane Keaton's singing in "annie Hall"? Was it just used in the film or written directly for it?

  • "Seems Like Old Times" is much older than Annie Hall. If I had to guess, I'd say WWII era.

  • brilliant director

  • ummmm, still alive, dude.

  • Jesus, you're on Digg again! I wonder if this qualifies you as a "phenomenon"...

  • I'm due back on planet earth lol
