The Duprees' version came out in the summer of 1962; not 1958 as reported above. I remember it very well but, no matter. It still ranks as their first of so many great songs. I love nearly everything they did.

I remember this song as #50 in the "Top 500" in December of 1967 played on WOR FM NY. After the song was finished, I distinctly remember the DJ saying "Number 49 belongs to the Elegants..." (Little Star) It is amazing what the human mind can recall when great songs are being played. WOR FM also released a POST records double album in 1967 containing this Dupree's classic.
