@brokenbrush Woah, really? That's kinda crazy, since I feel I've progressed a lot since this video back in '06. I'll have to make a new jaw harp video as soon as I get a new jaw harp. (I lost this one and am now saving up for a proper, hand-made Norwegian one)

Where the jaw harp actually comes from is hard to determine, because it seemed to turn up in very different countries around the same time, which makes it difficult to say where it started. That being said, I think we can safely rule out the aborigines. They are big on the didjeridoo, though. It has to be said, there are many different old instruments that work similarly to the jaw harp, and there could be an aborigine one that looks like it.

The serial killer next door---but he makes up for it with a mean jaw harp. This guy ain't on drugs. He doesn't need them! I was hooked by the cough. Do you ever blink? I might suggest shortening it, it started to run a little long. Were you playing a song? Play one. Maybe break it up with a vocal. Have the vocal on a little recorder and press play when it's time. But no jaw harp during the vocal. People still won't be sure it was your voice they heard. That would be a kick. Good playing!

Actually, you should check out my videos Billie Jean and Academic Writer, because in those I use the jaw harp in a full composition of sound. Particularly Billie Jean. This video was just me having fun with my jaw harp more than a year ago, and it's kinda horrendous in terms of rhythm and melody, because there is none. ^_^
