Absolutely abazing, the will to live and the miracle of creation; life... What kind of farm do you live on? Will these babies be used for eggs, meat, companions or breeding?
Ugh, gives me the shivers. Hatching is the most painful experience for a bird because it causes physical pain when the flesh tears away from the inside of the egg. All the arteries and stuff.... Poor thing :(
hi i just hatched some chicks and hes attached to the egg still by a cord, do u no anythin about this, i was just concerned because your chicks dint have one lol
@crispychickenpro According to my Science Encyclopedia It Shows A Demonstration How The Egg Hatches And The Only Thing Thats In The Egg Is The Chick And The Yolk Which The Chick Feeds On For 3 Weeks (21 days) So It Probably Didnt eat the All Of The Yolk Before It Was Born And The Yolk Is Connected To The Cord To Tell The Truth I Dont Know HOW To Remove The Cord Because Im Only 14. Next Time This Ever Happens I Suggest You Go To Veterinarian Or Whatever. I Hope This Information Was Helpful.
If you go to the hatchery you got your hens from, chances are they would sell you hatching eggs. Then you would just stick them under a broody hen, & she would hatch them exactly as if they were her own.
You do know how to tell if they are broody?
A big broody hen, like a Barred Rock, can easily handle 16-18 eggs.
Only problem is you get 50% roosters & then you have to do something with them.
omg sooo cute my hen is hatching her eggs right now 5 of them is already out and 2 of them is still breaking the eggs she have like 10 more eggs going to hatch shes a really hardworking mom
Fantastic stuff! I can easily understand why it would be so tempting to 'help' the chick out the egg but according to Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall you're not meant to do that. I think the reason for this is so the chick can develop their strength.
I've hatched my own hens ever since I was 7, and raised them by hand too. I've had everything from none hatching in clutches of 20 to a set of twins hatching!
Can anyone shed light on the twins? I've never known this before last year, and they were not identical twins so they hadn't split from one embryo early on. Has anyone else had this?
I'm incubating eggs at the momment!!! You never get bored of doing it!!! I've done it over and over again and I still get excited when I see one coming out!!!
The magic of watching new life spring from an egg never gets old. Thanks for posting this. There is a 3 hour long DVD guide on hatching and raising a backyard flock of chickens, it's called Regarding Chickens, ever heard of it? I think it's great!
everybody saying eww thats gross, omg thats stupid, gross that little things disgusting. u sound little 3 year olds! its beautifiul, its amazing and u r just a sad minority that cant grow up. hanks for the video its amazing
