Ahhhhh such fond memories! Mailani used to have the best chai in a "kullar" and the best "aaloo chaat". I'm not sure if the quality has degraded in recent years as I haven't travelled on this stretch for a couple of years now, but back in the days it was delicious.

I'm extremely jealous that you were allowed to footplate on the YDM4! Is there any specific procedure you followed to gain access or just asked the LP if it was ok to do so? I would love do the same one day before gauge conversion.

@MadFlyer Actually, I had a good time in Mailani as well. Went out of the station and got some samosas and jalebis! A very serene atmosphere! Both my travel-mates have good 'contacts' in that region - hence, the footplate as well as the ride in the guard's cabin. @djsayantanb If memory serves me right, I believe the MPS is 60KPH. Also it sounds like the a WDS6 because a WDS6 is a YDM4 in a WDS6 shell. ;)

@djsayantanb I think the MPS is probably 70 kmph, but have to confirm that!
