I've been depressed lately and feel "black" represents my current state of mind. Seeing your pink painting made me feel better! My mother used to see her "pain" in colors. As a young child I started seeing and describing my pain in colors too. A sickly sourness in a muscle would be a "yellowish green" and a sharp pain would be a "bright red". I stopped describing pain in colors at around age 8 or 9. Only my mom and I understood this method. Anything with the color of "Pewter" reminds me of her.

Oh my gosh. I love love love this one! :o I think that pink, is a calming color. Val did you know that they use pink to calm the violence in prisoners cells? I read that somewhere! :o Orange, is just like you said, very energetic. Frank Sinatra, a singer famous before you were born, it was his favorite color and he was known for not being able to sit still! ha ha ha. I love this painting though, it is very cool, happy funky and fun-also extremely characteristic of your wonderful art!

Hope you had a good Sunday Val. I don't respond much to any particular color but more so the intensity of any hue. If I have to be around a particular color for any length of time I prefer shades of grey or soft tones.

Please don't worry about your english diction. It is easily understandable, totally cute and extremely endearing when you twist things a little. It's part of what we love about you. Don't worry about perfection, it's unattainable anyway.

I'm not sure exactly how I react to color.

Royal blue and blood red have an intensity that tends to increase tension and excitement. Pale yellow is mellow and warm, saturated yellow is alarming. Soft orange is inviting, hard orange is just plain wrong or delicious, I can't decide which. Black implies confusion and unknown, white simplicity or emptiness.

Just an interesting FYI: pink can calm you ... for awhile... but if you are in a pink room for too long, it will have an opposite effect...

Saw a documentary on it. In it they showed a school that had a pink room to put kids that are agitated. They would calm down. But... if you left them in too long... they would become worse than they were when they entered. It doesn't mean that using the pink room is bad, but that it should be for only so long to be a good thing.

My favorite colors are greens, blues and purples and yes, blacks. I think that's because I love nature and the night. My dreams always tend to be on the dark blue side. Green and sky blue are very calming and airy. Great colors for a room if you want the feeling of being outside. My parents' kitchen is a sky blue and they have a sliding glass door to the outside right by the kitchen table, it's like an extension of the back yard. Very nice.
