in my country, turning 16 is not a big deal, but instead it's 18. then you are officially free to do anything you want. You know, get a driver license, buy alcohol, sigarettes, going in to pub's ect.

For my niece, it was the day she got her permit to drive, girl time, 1st boyfriend and getting a job. Just time to have fun, while Dad still has an open checkbook.
