header, cats and a air filter should do the trick i put a air filter in my 00navi and every time i accelarate it jump and i count 0-60 in 7.6 sec your might be at 8 sec not sure but a supercharger and transmission will really help
Dang, I have an '07 F-150 with the 5.4 3V and 3.73s and I can run 7.6 seconds 0-60. I thought the 32V would at least be close to that. Guess not, haha.
@TheTerminator310 I have the 5.4L v8 4speed automatic navigator, if you put this power in your truck you'd be surprized, but the navi is 3.5 tons.....
@300intech I would put up my Navi against the 99-02.. They are around 350lbs lighter.. Would be fun, but very few people ever push their Navis around here..
@1984SVOstang they also have the same rear end, and the same transmission so they have the same specs but yours is the weight that slows it down i guess? also some models came with the single cam, so your might not be a intech
@1984SVOstang yea tru were i live too very few ppl wana line em up (suv's) but my 02 navi wit a kn cai took out and 06 expedition and a 05 denali both stock lol
@TheJimmbob00 The Aviator is too small for what I do.. So I have to say the is the main reason.. Plus it sound cool when you people ask you what you drive & you tell then "A Navigator"..
painfully slow...but gotta love the fact how americans put a huuuuuuuuge 1st gear....eg...the toureg v10 tdi uses 3 gears to get to 100km/h :D But then again 2 completely different types...Naviagtor for cruising, touareg for everyday fast european roads. The navigator is sexy tough.
And it cost 10K more than the same year Navi.. Mercedes are sweet!! But they do cost quite a bit more.. The ML500 is smaller than the full size Navigator, it weights only 4954 lbs & can only hold 5 people.. I can seat 8 & tow over 8000 lbs because mine is based off a truck, not a car like the ML500.. Sorry but the ML500 is not a compariable to a Navi..
The Escalade has 400hp & are fairly quick. My Navi weighted in at 6380 lbs with full tank & just me in it. I ran a 2004 Escalade & we where even to 80mph. That was the 345hp one, so I think that my Navi is doing well.
6380 lbs...jesus that thing is a tank....and i thought my 300C was heavy at 4000lbs...but i can get 0-60 in 5.3seconds so considering the weight, the hemi more than makes up for it...what engine you running in the navi?
It is a 300hp 5.4L DOHC 32V V8. It makes 365 ft/lb tq. It is very torquey down low & pulls fairly well after 4k. But it is a bit flat in the 3000 to 4000 rpm range.
The road test ranged from 7.8 to 9.9 seconds. I'm going with the later time. I'll have to dig out my G-meter & see what it does. If you look i was actually rolling a bit before I got into the gas, so that could have made it seem a bit longer.
According to the road test that I have read, the '07 should be about 1/2 second quicker to 60mph. Do to the 6 speed trans I bet. Weight is up a bit on the new ones also & I don't like that way the 3V 5.4 runs. Just don't feel as strong to me as the older 32V dohc 5.4. The '03-04's handle & brake way better according to Car & driver. I think that the ride is a step lower in the new ones, Just not quite the same as the air ride ones.
I timed your 03 in at 10 seconds. I have a 2007 and can get it to 60 easily in 7 seconds. It is heavier but as you said the 6 speed really helps. My mom had a 2001 Expedition with t he 32V DOHC 5.4 V8 and personally I think this seems a bit beefier when driving and not at all weaker.
The Expedition never came with the DOHC 32V 5.4!! That was a Navigator only engine.. Yes the 6 speed would really liven this truck up.. The rpms drop too far between shifts & falls very flat until 4K.. Could make up for that with a turbo!! Now that would be cool..
As for breaking and handling, well hands down the 2007 wins. I mean come on you got 14" 4 wheel vented disk brakes and 14" calipers with CFC pads and as for handling the new Advance Trac with RSC can calculate your roll rate 100 times a second. I have never gotten those wheels to spin. And what do you mean the 07 isn't as nice as the air ride ones. The 07 is an air ride one. self leveling with IRS.
According to Car & Driver, the '07 could only muster a 70-0 stop in 209ft.. The '03 did it in 191ft.. '03-1 '07-0.. On the skid pad the '07 could make .70g's when the '03 made .75g's.. '03-2 '07-0.. The '03's and up navi's all have Advance Trac.. The '07-up Navi's don't have full (front & rear) air suspension.. I do like the look of the new ones.. Drove one but didn't feel as attached to the road as the '03 that I have now.. Really like the "L" version..
Anyone can do a thousand tests on a skid pad and every time they would get different results. It all depends on the driver and the environmental conditions. Yes the 03s and up had advance trac but in 07 the roll stability control came out and ever year they kept upgrading the system. And i dont know why i said she had a 5.4 DOHC, she had the smaller 4.6L V8. and the 07 has rear air suspension with independent front coil spring set up.
header, cats and a air filter should do the trick i put a air filter in my 00navi and every time i accelarate it jump and i count 0-60 in 7.6 sec your might be at 8 sec not sure but a supercharger and transmission will really help

it wood be amazing to see a 98navi vs 03navi causes they both go 0-60 in 10 but the 99-02navi would win 8.5sec 2 0-60

i wonder why the aviator and the navigator are sooooo slow, my dad has an aviator and its not that fast
FriedBullet99 3 years ago
Because they were not build for speed.. They were built for comfort.. Most people that buy luxury suv's don't care about speed..

no shit, but my dad used to have a mercedes SUV, it was totally luxury... and it was really fast
