I always use a 2 gallon pressure pot with built in agitator for jobs like this. Maximum articulation, no material cutoff, and no hopper to bump into anything. A simple Binks model 7 style works fine with an inline filter. I agree with the hood springs being removed. That and always laying down a uniform 50% overlap pattern.
