@Squirril. Maybe that's all 'God' is, a human dream that's trying to come true. The problem with religion is that it seems to insist that the dream has already come true, that the world is already saved, (or has to be destroyed in order to be) and that only 'our' book can contain all the answers that anyone could possibly need to know. God is the dream, and religion is the nightmare. Btw, thanks for the recommendation, I have put a library hold on it. (:
I have a suspicion that the 'god' meme will eventually cause human beings to evolve into a nonphysical holistic hive-mind. Brain downloading/A.I. may instigate a virtual environment wherein the species' collective mind-data melds and increases information exponentially, until at last we(god) gain full control of space-time and can loop the universe back on itself to create a 'god paradox', and become the Architects of our own creation. Or maybe not. Just a hypothesis.
jesus walking on water breaks the law of gravitiy. AS children we tend to believe that anything is possible, but as adults we believe in more strict rules. and we call that wise. but as children we are told by are parents usally to forgive our enemy's and it is easier for a child to forgive than it is an adult. so who is actually wiser in this catagory
@ghostman184 Still the adults are the wiser, because they have been exposed to the realities of the world through experience. As children we tended to be pretty credulous, and took anything in told to us by authority(parents, elders, teachers, priests, politicians). As we grow, we start to learn more and analyze things for what they are, then we start to question and figure out some things don't make sense.
The trouble with science and being wise in it is that if one law of science gets broken it sets scienctists against each other just as if we believe that are interpretation of scripture is correct and some one else has an opposing view there sets brother against brother.
@ghostman184 Science can't explain everything in the universe and its origins, but neither can Creationism. Unless someone goes back in time and sees it happen first hand, I don't think anyone will ever know the truth about the origins of the universe, so it's pretty fallacious to proclaim any theory(big bang, creation) as the truth. Personally, i believe science is more closer to the actual truth in what we know today based on evidence, more than what Christianity has to offer.
@tedthebomber I think you may be right about the comment "Personally, i believe science is more closer to the actual truth in what we know today based on evidence, more than what Christianity has to offer." but that depends on what you know about jesus. what do you know about jesus?
@ghostman184 i know a lot about Jesus actually. I used to be very religious and learned a lot about his teachings and who he is. But its only to the extent of what others have told me without evidence, and what i find in the bible. I also think that Jesus may have actually been a real Jew that was very wise and his teachings have been passed down but somewhere along the line, miracles and his divine spirituality was added to make him seem not just some regular philosopher or prophet.
@tedthebomber i am sure you have learned alot about jesus most people know tons of info. but as you know we have tons of info about history but still have areas of which we repeat both success and failures. but it is the present that decides our future. just as it is not the jesus 2000 years ago that saves souls, yes it is because of what he did 2000 years ago on the cross, but it is knowing him today that leads you to the cross and beyond.
@tedthebomber if you look in the bible i am sure you will see that it was not his teachings that lead people to god it is the act of god "miracles" that lead people to christ
@ghostman184 is God only powerful enough to perform little miracles only few people ever see? Why doesn't he just show the whole world a giant miracle?... Then EVERYONE will follow and praise him for sure. Why the ambiguity? Why the other religions? Why the sacrifice? Why even create a tree with fruit that cannot be eaten? To test us? God already knows who's going to hell and who isn't, and doesn't do anything about it. That doesn't sound much of a loving and caring way to treat his creations. .
@tedthebomber it should be understood that not all who saw the miracles believed that jesus was the messiah. to answer your last statement made, God did do something about hell. The cross. just as we attribute all sin started at the tree of good and evil, the whole solution was at the cross. But it has been my experience that when people told me of the cross; i got tired of hearing about it, but when God spoke of the cross thats when i was able to care.
@tedthebomber as for other religions most have an object of visible worship for it is difficult to believe in something you don't see. Romans 1:18-25 and 1 Corinthains 1 : 18-29 gives the rest of my answer
But i do agree with you that it seems easy. as you are aware my brother and me don't always agree on what the text in the bible means but jesus confronts us christians about that in John 5 :39
@tedthebomber So where did the ancient Monkeys come from and tracing that thought patern back until you don't know and then you see the start of faith. and why people believe that god exists. and we know that he is a personal God because where else would we learn how to live
a sciene experiment would be to take a a baby throw him in the woods and see how long it would survive
@ghostman184 people believe god(s) exists because its a easy way of explaining things. How convenient is it to have an answer for almost anything by just saying "God made it that way" or "God chose it to be like that". To the primitive minds of people back in the bronze age, they accepted these answers as the truth and passed it down, but now... we live in the age of reason and a lot of us(including me) aren't quite happy by just accepting the easy answer of saying God is responsible w/o proof.
@tedthebomber What about the religious symbols (tounges, potential prophecy , potential healings) as proof what about beliving God not as a NOUN (person) But a Verb (Love).
@tedthebomber So often we seem to put god in a human body (other than jesus). As kids we are taught that God was in the burning bush but according to Exodus 3:2 IT was an Angel (the Angel of the lord). BUt before you say that the angel is not god i agree but jesus says how it is possible to be in something else and it still be contributed to god in John 14:10.
@ThorandTrevor adam and eve were probably not really white, but more middle eastern. How can dark brown parents give birth to light brown kids. this is how you get the diffrent races
@MarcusEFN Just as science proved earth is not at the center of the universe, it also proved that there must be a life form bigger than Man, by the shere size of the universe, and the order of things. The story of adam and Eve can be traced to serval things, passing down of story, scientist tend to agree the cradle of life is in the middle east, the earth could support more life 4,000 Years ago. People Hope that they are not forced to live out existence, lying, cheating, stealing.
@ghostman184 The Evolutionary process of humans started 6 million years ago. We know this because we have actual demonstrable evidence. Your bible also says that the Earth is less than 10,000 yrs old.
Which has been disproven. Noah's Ark is also impossible, because a human can't live for several hundred yrs and build things. And he had to have traveled to every country. The deepest bottoms of the sea and so on. How did he manage to not get the animals to eat eachotherm Where was the food stored?
@MarcusEFN What demonstratabble evidence do evolution Have. Some theolologians actually belive the earth existed billions of years ago to but that Gensis 1:1 was the beginning of a new age. Babaylon documents also prove that people did live longer in those days because the earth supported better
Hands down my favourite monologue.

@ghostman184 I'll answer you with this ------
Eve comes from Adam's rib. She must have same blood-type due to this.
The human species has multiple blood types.
For us to have multiple blood types, the story of Adam and Eve must be false.
micahjava 2 months ago
@micahjava thetech.org type in blood types it should eplain how all the blood types come from blood type A. Not a religious but a secular article
