I found Dark Serge to be really easy to beat.

Norris equipped with Starky's plasma gun does massive damage to green innates, and does good damage to neutrals.

And, I think I had Fargo with me to steal stuff with his pillage, lol.

And for the people saying this game have flaws in the story line, if you pay attention to every thing in the game, you will notice that it actually don't have.

And for the people that say is a disapointment for CT... it's not supouse to be a direct sequel, it's just have some links that are important to the story so they can explain what happened to Schala.

The incoherent storytelling parts could have almost been avoided completely. Granted they reveal some important info that yes, could've been revealed somewhere else in the game, they mostly just throw in fanservice so that people would have a reason to say "oh hey this game is related to ct afterall"

Not only in the form of the kid ghosts(the end isn't the first time you see the ct crew as kids, but yeah)

It takes a few tries, but once you actualy stop and take a good look at the storyline, you'll find it's one of the most sophisticated storylines in a game. I've watched and researched both Chrono Trigger and Chrono cross's storylines and they're two completely different styles of the same story. People shouldn't look at Chrono Cross as just a sequel to Chrono Trigger, but as a game on its own. Personaly, i'm glad I played this game first of the two. It became and still is one of my favorites.

Why is it that a story that takes any thought to figure out becomes "incoherent"? This game was nothing less than genius, and though I agree some parts were difficult to understand, it's overall storyline is pulled off immaculately.

The twist of Lynx and Wazuki and FATE was rather brilliant.

I played this without playing Chrono Trigger, and honestly from what I saw, storyline wise, this was the better game.

You would think that over the progress of the game that you would see more of what happened to Serge's father. I always thought how interesting it was how they narrowed it down like that before TimeDevourer's final form.

Other than things like that, this game was very worth picking up and I am very glad to still have it. The story itself is fresh and fun and the battle system is unique. Thank you for uploading this, now I want to dust off mine and have another go. =)

Hardly. It's decent because of the deep story, the gameplay itself has countless big flaws. Gaming wise, there's loads better RPGs out there. Story alone does not a good game make, especially if it is as badly presented and paced as in CC. Xenogears has the same problems: Very good story and lots of almost gamebreaking gameplay flaws. But it still has enough uniqueness that I love it.

Everything PlatinumIvory said rings true. The game is incredibly sophisticated. This is a direct sequel to CT. Everything in it was intended and planned from the outset by the same people who made CT.

If they had churned out a CT clone, I'm sure they would have received flak for it, too.

Also, it's not strange that old games had worse graphics but were better. Good graphics (or hardware) don't equate to good gameplay or story. This is sadly a common misconception; don't fall into that trap.

I did however buy Chrono Cross when it first came out for PS1, played it through twice, and have to say that it ranks up there as being one of the best on PS1. I personally only had trouble with a handful of bosses and this wasn't one of them... I think he did kill my riddle but thats it.

Miguel was hellish, And there was a futuristic Robot in the chronopolis I had a hard time with.

But no this game oddly gets easier later on in my experience. Bosses become comparatively weaker and weaker to you.

i beat this game 20 times but dark serge was the strongest boss your first time around
