Were always going to improve technologically every single day, and the whole concept of the automatic car is becoming way more in-depth. Now, Some cars you want automatic or atleast tiptronic because their getting rid of human error. With computers and machines the human is really obsolete when it comes to things like shifting through gears, etc. And that gap is only going to improve in time...

Got to ride in an F430 over the summer, hands down most thrilling car ride ever. Handles amazingly, sounds amazing and is as fast as anything. The engine work is also beautiful. The F430 is spectacular.

@tristianck You get used to them and they are a fun and different way to drive. It makes shifting so much faster and smoother. I have an M3 that also has paddle shifters..... not saying its nearly the same car..... but as far as the paddle shifters go.... if makes it seem like a race car.

Here you go - ultimate frustration story: My friend has and F430 Spyder, and I finally get to go for a ride in it. He starts the car and proceeds to crank the music so loud that I can't even hear the exhaust note. He drives it a a decent clip, but never lets the revs get past 5,000 RPM. In fact most of the time he was shifting at about 3500! I have never been so frustrated in my life. He loves that car for all the wrong reasons. Even if he had rapped it out, the stereo was too loud to hear it...

Essentially a v8 is two 4 cylinders engines put together, and if you listen u can hear it. thr biggest reason why the f430 v8 sounds so High pitched is because of the compression ratio being so high. a k20 has compression ratio that isn't far off, thus the similar sound at high rpms.
